Looks like a dive on the outside but very charming. Had a server named Janey who was very sweet and attentive. It was still lunch hr and I went with the #1 combo and it didn't disappoint. Beef taco, beef enchilada, beef tostada, and refried beans. All were excellent and the taco came on a separate plate so you could load the shell with the right amount of ingredients that are provided. Ice tea to accompany everything. This is a favorite of mine, I very much enjoy the Tex-Mex food they serve... The quality and value is very stable and hasn't changed much in the 25ish years I have gone there! I can tell you I have tried most items on the menu during that time, and none of the items disappoint... whether you are having a lunch or dinner... everything from tacos to Fajitas are delicious.... Margaritas too All the staff is very friendly and helpful, and eager to serve ... well deserving their tips!!! The dinning room hasn't changed at all since I first started dining there... it typical Tex-Mex motif... however since it's a small restaurant, chairs and booths are crammed closely together... so close we often feel included in our neighbors conversations!!! Not to mention Covid safe . Surprisingly the restaurant isn't overly noisy... In conclusion I enjoy the restaurant very much and recently have done more takeout, same great food and chips and salsa are included ... I think I just made myself hungry!!! Lol read more

I made an order to go. Several dishes including a chimichanga. Picked up the order after waiting for five minutes while cashier had a conversation with another patron. So got home with my order only to discover that my chimichanga was missing. I mean, I got a plate with beans and rice but no chimichanga. Called and told them they messed up my order and I'll be back to get my entree. Thank gawd I live close. When I got there, they asked where was the beans and rice? Seriously?!? They just wanted to give me the chimichanga but I wanted the full plate because by the time I got home, the beans and rice would be cold. So as I'm picking up my order, I asked was this a fresh chimichanga or had it be sitting here the whole time getting cold and yucky. They said it was freshly made but they lied. Because my meal was inedible. Thinking about it, I got angrier about the whole experience. No apology and no attempt to make me happy. read more

I love that they have such a wide variety of options, however, I have to give a 3.5 because it's very obvious that the rice is from a box and the beans are from a can. We couldn't eat it at all because it wasn't even the better boxed rice or canned beans. Those are the 2 things that should be perfected at a Mexican restaurant. Went here last Thursday to celebrate the selling of our house. 4 of us ordered Corona Rita's. After on drink we all knew something was wrong. Like the mix was bad. When the waitress came back I explained what was going on, she told me she wouldn't do anything about it. I was kinda shocked with how dismissive she was about it. I asked for a manager and when she got there, she said she wasn't going to do anything about it. I said fine, we are just going to leave then. We hadn't even ordered food yet. She said she was going call the police, so I did it for her. About 10 minutes later while I was waiting on the police to show up, she came over and told use we didn't have to pay but we have to leave and not come back. I would recommend you don't go either. Decent flavor but the steak itself reminded me of one you get from roadside vendor where an entire box is only $20. Wife got the chicken fajitas and said they were meh. Chicken was dry. Placed an order over the phone to go. Arrived to find cashier in conversation with another customer. After 10 minute wait, cashier was ready for me. Told me my order was ready - and that it had been sitting there for the past 10 minutes. Paid and left. Got home to find that one order was complete, but my order of a chimichanga had the beans and rice - but no chimichanga. Called restaurant to let them know, and then drove back to get it. At first, they just wanted to give me the chimichanga, saying I already had the beans and rice. Told them they were cold now, and wanted a fresh batch. Cashier was very apologetic, but otherwise made no effort to make me satisfied. Got home to find the chimichanga was cold and unappetizing. It probably sat there for the entire 25 minutes from my first pick up to my return pick up. Very disappointed with poor customer service. Gave restaurant 2 stars because the other meal was quite good - even if mine wasn't. read more

We have eaten here twice & enjoyed the food & service both times. The salsa & chips were especially tasty. Which is my first test of a Mexican restaurant. If the salsa is unsavory, so is the food. Went here for lunch today (7-31-13) after reviewing YELP. We were not disappointed! They were cleaning the restaurant during the lunch rush. Floors, walls, kitchen [which I could see into]. I was impressed! The food was some of the best Tex-Mex I have had in Texas. The chips were crisp and not greasy at all. The salsa was spot on. the service was good. I had the lunch special Chicken Enchiladas. They were great! I could taste the ham bone in the re-fried beans, and the Mexican rice was divine. My Dad had the chicken taco, guacamole chalupa, and a enchilada. He said they were great! This is a very clean and great place to enjoy Tex-Mex. When we mentioned it the gentleman who had taken our drink orders he told us to order top shelf next time. I shouldn't have to order top shelf to get a good tasting margarita. I give that service and beverage a one star possibly two. Our real server was pretty good. Two people in our party got fajitas and were very pleased. Another person got the chicken chalupas and loved them. I got the rellanos my go to favorite. I wouldn't say it was awesome. But it was good. The pepper was kinda wimpy. Found this place after visiting the way-too-crazy Bucee's down the street--the chips and salsa are addicting, the guac is fresh and the soft drinks are big. I ordered the uruano which was decent, the beef enchilada and tamale was the best part. The nachos were sort of bland and service was slow for ordering and bringing the check, but the staff was really nice. Good place to come if you don't have any where to be, like maybe on a Friday night for some margaritas. The price is definitely right and the food is good, would probably give 3.5 stars if I could but was an overall above average experience. read more

Wanted to try something different and came here. Only difference I found out was how much higher price this place was, and how at best mediocre the food was. I can go to a chain Mexican restaurant and have more and better quality and spend way less than this place. In the middle of Terrell there aren't many choices, but you should save a lot of money and go next door to taco bell to get a quick fix, then travel somewhere else to get your real Mexican food. read more

The service was fast and friendly. What I did not like was the food. I asked for fajita beef street tacos. And what I got was beef that looked it, and tasted like, it was more of a roast.
