Yesterday my friends and I decided to go out for dinner and drinks at Pacifico. I was quite excited as It was going to be my first time there. We sat down and it took the server 10 minutes to get to us. She seemed busy and it is crazy because 3 servers were just standing there by the POS not helping out. We got our drinks and then our other friends arrived around 9. We ordered more drinks and dinner and were having a good time. Then around 10:15 the server says my friend had to go put on a shirt or leave, he was wearing a muscle shirt. We asked to speak to the manager because it just seem crazy the restaurant did not have a sign about a dress code and my friend was not told anything when he came in. Uriel came and apologized but said it is a rule we have. Also, there was 3 servers just standing there pointing at us and laughing. Which I found extremely rude. Uriel let us stay so we continued to have drinks and around 11:15 Uriel came to the table again and told my friend that he needed to put a shirt on or leave. I work in the food and beverage industry as well and don't appreciate the way this situation was handled nor the rudeness of the servers which we did get their names (Magally, Marlene, Lina) If your gonna have a dress code you need to tell people before the sit down and spend almost $200. SERVICE IS AWFUL! The waitress didn't speak English so we had to depend on one person in our party that is from El Salvador. She spoke to the waitress in Spanish and the waitress still got her order wrong. The Manager finally came over but she had to wait 20 minutes for them to recook it. We asked for to-go plates she only brought 2 not three. I even held up 3 fingers when asking for them but evidentially 3 fingers still needs to be coupled with word tres to get the point across. The bill came and it was all messed up. One whole entree was left off so we left without paying for it. I didn't feel like the waitress was worth a tip but the party insisted on leaving $4 so that's what she got on a $63 tab that should have been about $75. The restaurant lost money and I don't feel sorry for that. I complained to the Manager before leaving and stated that we would not be back but I feel like she really didn't care. This place has GREAT fusion food but not worth the hassle. IF i eat their food again it would only be to-go but I'm not even sure I would like to support the restaurant anymore. By the way, I have brought several parties here since they opened as my office is just a few blocks away and this is by far the first time I have had bad service but it was the final straw. read more

Where do start I start horrible rude waitress *** Tip if you go after the music starts playing they charge you for refills on fountain drinks & water.The drink no refill policy that was the start of our shitty evening here at this dump. I've come many times to this restaurant. I ordered the Snapper and Crab claws dinner and these people served me a piece of fish and the shell tips of crab claws for $16!! When I told the waitress she acted like it was normal. She called the manager over and I told her that it's a rip off to even include Crab claws in the name of the plate. She gave me some lame excuse saying that the crab meat dissolves into the sauce. I told her well then ya'll should rename this plate and call it Red Snapper on a bed of rice and keep it at that. I came here for the first time and overall, I enjoyed my visit. I ordered the New York roll and I shared a little bit of my sister's Miyako Special. Both rolls were delicious! The New York roll had a small citrus kick to it which I enjoyed. The main attraction in the Miyako special was the spicy tuna which wasn't too spicy, another plus in my book. The only reason why this review didn't make it to 5 stars was because the rolls are a little small :( The service was pretty good for a Saturday afternoon. I'll definitely be coming back! read more

For a Mexican restaurant, I was very impressed by their selections in sushi. Hands down, one a fine choice if you're feeling sushi and Mexican food at the same time. They also have a full bar and an extensive list of drinks they could make. I had a Mojito and my friend behind the bar did me good. I just had to come and try their food out. Sushi grade was low grade. They try to mix Mexican with sushi which is a failure. For real sushi lovers tip go to a real sushi restaurant or you will be really disappointed. This restaurant is a sister restaurant of mayko. You know, one on Westheimer and one on Kirby. Went here a while ago with my girlfriend. We were polite to staff and ordered a lot of sushi, appetizers, etc. Our server seemed more concerned than everything but helping us -- service was unspeakably slow, the food was nothing to write about and while the seasonings and sauce were okay the food did NOT taste like fresh sushi or good sushi. What we got I think was defrosted out of a freezer or something. It did not taste right and every plate seemed grosser than the last. We just stopped eating, left about 75% of their nasty food on table (this was a big order -- we eat) and deuced; we laughed off the rude looks from the wait staff who had seemingly returned from the void or something. If I could give this place zero stars I would , unfortunately that's not an option. My husband and I dine at this place all the time. I'm one of those people who order the same food every time from the places I go to eat at just to be on the safe side. I ordered a drink which I did not like and asked if I could change it and ordered two drinks. I received one drink in a dirty glass with white stuff smeared on it . The second drink never arrived . I then ordered my food well one of the items never arrived as well and what I always order (at least 10 times ) wad just not cooked the same way as before . I asked the server of there a different cook cause I didn't know what that was. She told me that that's how they are cooked and of I had been there before . At that Point I was frustrated my husband was nearly done eating . Finally the manager stops by and apologizes for the mistake and tells me that they are cooking the dish how I wanted it . I told her look my husband is done eating my drink never came..this drink cup is dirty my rice never came either so all I wanna do is leave . She told me that they were cooking it already and that I could take it home with me If I wanted to . At that point I took my 1 year old to wall around since he was getting inpatient and my husband took care of the bill not noticing that we were charged for the items that I never received. When we informed the server about the mistake she called the "manager" who was unwilling to refund us this money . The server even offered to pay us cash for the items and we disagreed and told the manager why would she have to pay for something we didn't get and that I received when we were leaving which by the way my fish tacos were still at the table even though we had walked away already or weren't even at the table anymore . Long story short this idiot manager could have avoided everything by replacing my dirty glass which she never acknowledged and didn't bother to ever bring my rice but she did expect and agreed that server pay out of her pocket because that was her table. Classic case of idiotic behavior on her part . This was my first time there. I ordered a three way tostadas and when I saw how small they were and the low quality ingredients they used for the price I was very disappointed. The use fake crabmeat, very small shrimp for the ceviche, and the fish... Not sure what kind they used but was cut in small square slices and I could count the few pieces they put on the tostada. Every tostada had very small portions and did not look appetising. I also ordered an appetizer of fried calamari, they where low grade small calamari that are server with tentacles... which where tasteless with no seasoning and no salt. So-so food, awful service, and overpriced. Half of our table got their food and entirely finished it while the other half sat 20 minutes with no food and all of us had empty drink glasses. Several waitresses passed by without a glance toward us while our waitress along with most of the staff including the manager chatted and laughed away next to the kitchen. We could not flag anyone down. Finally got someone, who was very resistant to getting a manager for us, and he took a long time coming, but he did apologize and offered us 1 free dessert (there were 4 of us; they served it with 4 spoons although it was a very small item). We got the impression that he apologizes a lot; basically it was a well-rehearsed little speech. The food was not terrible, but you can taste that they use a lot of pre-packaged items. I love the Habanero Rice they have however every single time I call to place an order to go and I have the misfortune to have a girl answer that its impossible for her to understand my order, I speak english, I speak spanish and yet she keeps asking to have the order multiple times repeated sometime she leaves me hanging while I get transfer to someone else I am not exactlyt sure why its so hard to understand my very simple order. Today I called and she answered, she was so extremely rude, then I called again and a guy answers that can barely speak english or spanish. It was definetely the last time ordering from here. I love love love this place!! Everything we've ever had was excellent! The Unagi is cooked to perfection, the sauteed calamari is tender and super flavorful!! It's ashame that the management is so rude to the customers. I don't even think I or anyone I know would be tempted to try this place after what I heard. According to a friend of mine that was in the restaurant, the manager apparently harrassed a group of young adults (clean cut kids, entrepreneurs, military, college students) that were dining there the other day - called Bellaire PD to come in and check their ID's, then had the police officer wait outside while they tried to get them all to have another margarita. Bellaire officer was just hanging out so he could give any of the groups drivers a DUI. Unbelievable, both for management and BPD. You should be ashamed! read more

When I am in town, I usually go to this restaurant. However, I will not recommend anyone to go there anymore. We went there for dinner last Saturday, and after having spent $185.00 in food and drinks (we were a party of 3), when we requested some water, the waitress refused to serve a glass of water. She said that if we wanted some water, we would have to buy it! They have this ridiculous so called ¨Policy¨, that if you want water and it is 10:00 p.m. or later, they will only sell you a bottle of water! They will not serve you a glass of water regardless of how much you have consumed or paid on your bill. For me personally I had a good experience. It was a group of 10 going out for my managers birthday. Drinks were good and my shrimp cocktail was good as well. I have never had the actual food here, but it wasn't bad. They play music on Fridays which was pretty cool. read more

Honestly the food here is DELICIOUS, I have never had a problem with my orders and the prices are awesome. The ONLY thing I would say to be aware of if it's your first time trying this place is the customer service. They really suck at attending to people, I go every now and then for lunch with a friend and we have had to develop a routine of grabbing our own menus from the hostess stand, greeting and seating ourselves. Once seated you most likely will not have the same waiter/waitress throughout your time there and if you are lucky they will check on you once. To make it short and sweet if you plan on making a trip here be prepared to help your waiter do their job. Food is regular, I ordered a parrillada, the beef was overcooked the chicken was OK but definitively they need to improve the seasoning both meats where almost plain in flavor. My wife ordered a shrimp soup, it was better but I think they add artificial flavoring to the soup it was to salty and the flavor was like those seasoning cubes. I've only been once to this place and that was in October 09 for a birthday party. The place is huge and very nicely decorated. We had about 18 people in our party so the service could have been better. I didn't like the idea of us having to divide out our own check that was very upsetting especially since by the time we were all leaving everyone was already tipsy so we didn't know who's was who's. On the other hand, the music was great! I love dancing and I love seafood so combined I really enjoyed the place. In fact, about 25 of us are going tonite for my birthday. The fact that children can be there is a big plus, it makes it accessible to everyone in my circle and those of us that go to dance and drink can also enjoy ourselves. The food is a fair price, the staff was friendly and the band was accomdating with our music request. Hopefully things are even better service wise tonite. read more
