Went by today with my husband and sat at the bar. He ordered a michelada & beer to drink. We ordered the salmon roll which was delicious for an appetizer. For our main courses he ordered the tilapia fish I think it was, and it was so delicious & hot. I ordered the poblano shrimp with veggies and rice. It was delicious but just wish my food was hot when it came out. The customer service from the tall guy bartender was great. Would've given it more stars but the food temp tasted like it was sitting there.

We went for some drinks and the we ordered the shrimp and it was amazing! Margaritas were tasty and they were friendly. We had a good time.

Not what I was expecting. They honestly had good fried rice. But everything else was just, eh. It was alright.

This place was for me a great discovery and a very pleasant surprise! Everything is excellent !! Starting with the perfect and professional service, in addition to very delicious suggestions that Miss. NADIA gave me. They have many menus and endless options to please each and every one of the different palates attendees. "Such as Sushi, Mexican Food- TexMex, Seafood, Lunch menu, Happy Hour menu (in food and drinks) And plus** All portions of the dishes are really big! The prices in general are very good, it's just right! Trust me,...: 1* Service is PERFECT & friendly in all moment. 2* Quality 100% 3* Delicious Taste and Great Portions! Congratulations to all the team that works in "El Pacifico" I can't wait to come back!!! =)

For service I wish I could give this place a 1. They aren't nice here, the host had a really bad attitude when telling us we couldn't wait inside when we where sitting on the couch. Mind you it was freezing outside. I just think they could've been nicer when asking us to wait outside. We also didn't have anyone come to our table to ask us for our drink order for a good 10-15 mins and when they did she said I'm not your server but I'm going to help get you some drinks which was nice. But we didn't see our server again for almost another 20 mins....I understand staffing issue is a thing right now, but there's a difference of being under staffed and simply just being rude to customers. However, aside from the negatives, there are a lot of different food options here which make it very convenient for large groups, there's a little of everything. I think they also make great drinks and they are strong! So it's worth the money. It is a cool place to just grab drinks and small bites to eat before heading for a night out too. It does turn into a bar/club seen starting around like 9:30ish/10pm just a heads up. However if service was better I would give this place like a 4.5. Foods okay, drinks are great, music is good but service is

Do not listen to the bad reviews on ElPacifico! We've been here twice now and it's become one of my favorite restaurants! Sure, the service can be a little lacking but when you're used to China Town quality service this is not that bad. First off the food! We started with the appetizer sampler and it was amazing! The empenadas were pretty good. I loved the shrimp stuffed peppers and the wings were spicy. Such a good deal for $9. My husband got the spicy tuna roll which was jut average but still fresh. I loved the mescada which is a type of seafood soup in a thick broth. They do not skimp on the seafood. There were mussels, shrimp, baby octopus in a rich tomato broth. It comes with rice kind of like a gumbo and a piece of garlic bread. Wonderful on a cold night. EL Pacifico is now in our food rotation! We will be back.

Love this place but is a hit or miss kind of place. You won't know if you get great food or great service . Went in today no greeting until 10 minutes later and no it was not busy at all. My food looks great but wish it had more stuff on the taco . All there other tacos from here are fully loaded and have alot of flavor , this is just dry and no sauce what so ever or toppings .

Came down from Dallas and found this place; excellent food, awesome menu, great service, no wait, inviting casual atmosphere, and on certain days/nights they have live music and karaoke! All at a reasonable price. Can't go wrong.

This place is amazing! I had the BEST PULPO ever here. Cooked perfectly. I've had octopus in Asheville, Atlanta, Cancun, LA, etc. and this one was by far the best! Hats off to the chefs at El Pacifico. I also throughly enjoyed my sushi roll, got to LIGHT IT ON FIRE!

Everyone is right on with their reviews - it is an average joint in an interesting neighborhood and an unusual concept - a Latin-Japanese fusion restaurant advertising seafood and sushi. Sushi options are limited - a few types of fish can be ordered by the piece. The menu is heavy with cooked foods, like tempura, noodles, sandwiches. There are some sashimi/tiradito platters that can be ordered by the fish, a list of specials and then on weekends, the $5 roll menu. Between 3 of us, we had the jalepeno poppers stuffed with seafood, a small ceviche (crab, shrimp, oyster and octopus), 4 $5 rolls, and the yuzu yellowtail special. They gave me a big amount of spicy ponzu sauce with green onion. Props for having nanami togarashi on the tables. Big space, loud Tejano music/TV in background, lots of big screen TVs, we were seated at a half-moon shaped booth which was a bit weird. Pros +1 Togarashi +1 spicy as hell ponzu +1 yuzu sauce on menu +1 raw fresh jalepenos used +1 cheap cheap cheap (next time, 6 oysters is $3.99, poppers were $3.99, rolls $5...) Cons -1 Tiny glasses so we required constant refills -1 limited sushi menu I would probably go back and give it another shot, because they have "Tako Tacos" aka Octopus taco appetizers.

I usually don't eat rolls since I prefer sashimi or nigiri but this place is great if you're looking for maki. The drinks are a little expensive and bland. I love the fresh tuna, satisfied my raw fish craving. Our server was really attentive and made sure every thing was all right. Four stars because while the food is good , it's not the best.

I think you have to go earlier in the day because they only make a limited number. I ordered the pork katsu bao and the honey walnut bao, and both were great. Honestly, these aren't your typical baos, but they're fun, creative, and really tasty. The pork katsu featured a thick piece of crispy fried pork that paired well with the thinly sliced avocado. The honey walnut shrimp bao was MESSYYYY, but packed with flavor- a cute sweetness on top of a fried shrimp patty. I will definitely need three baos next time, though, because two did not fill ya girl up. It's a counter-service restaurant with quick service, plenty of parking, and an easy spot for a casual meal. Now I just need to go back and get my hands on that crab rangoon burrito.

The mapo tofu is one of the best we've had outside of Bellaire with spicy, savory, numbing, and warmth that you expect from a good mapo tofu. Crispy popcorn chicken is a classic that's spicy, lightly fried, and crisp. It has an authenticity that other places around can't replicate and makes you keep craving more. The portions are also appropriate for their price. Service is incredibly quick, and you can order as you go and receive your dish within 10-15 minutes, regardless of how busy they are. As for the ambiance, it's loud, it's hectic, and it's simple... maybe a stretch, but makes me feel like I'm eating at a mom and pop shop in the heart of China. This place is definitely a go to if I'm convincing a friend of Houston's great food scene! Rating: 4.5/5

No complaints here since we were starving from an 8 hour road trip. The Dan Dan Noodles...I had high expectations but sadly this dish fell short. I recommend Hu's Cooking to use a bigger bowl and more sauce because it was difficult to mix the noodles and the sauce wasn't...saucing, unfortunately. I wish there was more flavor in this dish. The Scallion Pancake was super over-fried and oily. See image in my review. The outer parts of the pancake were fried to a crisp and only a small circumference in the center stayed chewy. I know Chinese tends to be oily but this pancake soaked up way too much oil. Half a Peking duck: super great price for so much meat. The difficulty when eating this dish is gnawing the meat off the sharp bones of the duck. Mapo Tofu with white rice: pretty easy staple, no complaints here. Dinner on a Saturday was packed but we got seated quickly and food arrived fast.

I arrived about 20 minutes before opening and had to wait outside in Houston's summer heat 93'F. While there are a few benches, there is very little shade, and guests are not allowed to wait inside. When the restaurant opened, there was no clear system for seating guests. Even though I was first in line, several people rushed in ahead of me, making the process feel disorganized. The biggest issue involved a $300 gift card that my friend had received years ago. She simply asked the staff to check the balance. When the server returned, he told us the manager had cut the card in half and that the entire balance had to be used during that visit. What bothered me was the lack of communication. We were never informed of the policy before the card was invalidated. If that is the restaurant's policy, it should be explained clearly beforehand. As two ladies having lunch, spending $300 was difficult, so we ended up ordering far more food than we normally would. The sashimi was fresh but cut thinly than what I've had at comparable restaurants. The hamachi kama, chirashi, and lobster mac and cheese were good. The green tea soufflé cheesecake was the biggest disappointment. For $10, it consisted of three very small cubes and felt overpriced. The waitstaff were attentive, friendly and professional, which helped salvage the experience. However, between the uncomfortable wait outside, the chaotic seating process, and the poor handling of the gift card, this visit did not live up to my previous experiences. While I have many good memories of Kata Robata, I'm not sure I'll be returning anytime soon.

As for the entree, I ordered the Khao Soi with shrimp and my friend ordered the spicy red snapper. We tried their appetizers including Salmon Rolls (flavorfully packed with cream cheese, salmon, and spinach in a crispy shell and loving that actually spicy mayo on the side), Thai Style Jerky (deep fried and sun dried marinated pork and beef served with sticky rice rolls and side spicy tamarind sauce, a bit too dry/chewy), Fried Tofu (perfect little triangles, so good by itself or with the side sweet and sour sauce with crushed peanuts), Chive Pancake (deep fried and chive packed triangles with a slight chew to it, great by itself or with it's spicy soy sauce companion). As for the mains, the Spicy Seafood Fried Rice is a good value as it was loaded with all sort of fruits of the sea (shrimp, squid, and mussel), with prominent lemongrass and kaffir lime aroma, but a bit wet or moist for a fried rice dish, the Crabmeat Omelet is served with a nice portion of lump crabmeat where you can taste the flavor of the seafood and add sriracha to liking, and the Beef Pad See Ew is made appetizing with wok charred flat rice noodles along with a savory blend of soy sauce, Chinese broccoli and egg. The portion size is alright and filling for a moderately hungry individual, though it would've been even better a tad bigger for those coming in hangry. I'll be back for more when I'm craving some modern Thai food and especially want to try their curry dishes. Service was quick and efficient, attentive to refills on drinks and friendly!
