Word on the street is that El Palacio De Los Jugos is a go-to spot for juices and smoothies! There are several locations across Miami but my friends and I visited this location after a session of Tennis at Tropical Park. We played during the hottest part of the day so we were craving smoothies, juices, and acai bowls. After a quick Yelp search, we decided to come here! This colorful red and yellow stand/building pops out on any road. They have many options- coolers of drinks and ice creams, an area where you can pick food from and even fruit you can buy. At the front, you can order many different types of drinks- Mamey, Mango, Papaya, Coco, and more! I ended up getting a fruit popsicle and all my friends got smoothies to drink outside under their covered patio area. My local friend brought us here for a taste of the everyday local Cuban food. The selection was pretty good and the servings were almost too generous. The food was spot-on as far as what I was expecting. Pork cooked several different ways, beans, rice, plantains, some seafood. A good variety of fresh juices. Totally reasonable prices. You get a tray and a plate and walk down the line, pointing at what you want. My family loves the fried snapper for $15. If it's not ready, it takes 25 minutes for them to fry one for you! It definitely beats frying it yourself!! I love the fruit salad and all the fresh juices, especially the sugar cane juice!! It's delicious!! They also have orange juice, sour sop juice, coconut water, etc. They have plenty of cooked food for reasonable prices. After a long day at the park we decided to stop at the Bird Road location to have lunch. It was our first time at this location. The line was pretty long, but that was only because there was a party of 6/8 ppl ahead of us. I ordered the Miami sandwich and a lemonade and my wife the Cuban and a mango juice. The lemonade was really good and so was the mango. When we received our sandwich, I noticed that mine was missing the bacon and my wife was missing the pork in our sandwiches. I mentioned it and apparently I didn't hear him ask if we wanted those things added to our order. We laughed about our miscommunication and he hooked it up with a ton of pork and bacon. Oye! El Palacio is really good. Huge selection of delicious hot prepared foods, ripe tropical produce, and refreshing juices. Their fresh chicharron is the BEST EVER! It's busy, because the food is that good. But.... if you aren't a native Latino - get ready for the rudest "service" (if you can call it that) ever. I'm a native of Miami, and speak fluent Spanish. My accent is excellent. But the entire staff pretended not to be able to understand me. It's laughable, because the people in line in front and behind me knew exactly what I was saying. The server continuously kept rolling her eyes at me (no language barrier there), and had to be asked at least half a dozen times to have some cups for the half gallon of juice I bought along with several other hot items. I knew that the "gringos" aren't exactly welcomed in there, but in a bizarre twist of fate, I ended up going back 3 times in 2 days. Service only got worse. Look, I know that for some reason you don't like English speakers, but when they make the effort to be pleasant, speak YOUR language, and spend money where you work (translation: pay your salary) at least fake it and pretend you don't totally hate me. He also stopped at my table to greet me. Very friendly and nice. Smoking is allowed outside but no ashtray were on tables nor where there any floor ashtrays on premises. I ordered a cafecito, a colada and water. The cafe was rich and hot. Great coffe at this simple place. The order came in under $2. The water was chilled and with ice. It was served in a small plastic cup and did have about 3 tiny black particles floating in it. But the lady was so nice I didn't want to say anything :( WiFi service was great. This bad review is for the lack of fresh juice and for the horrible customer service. They pour the juice out of the same take home jugs they sell. When ordering food. It took me 5 minutes to get the attention of the staff who where in a circle talking. When their conversation was over they decided to ask what I wanted. We got the food and our "freshly poured" juice. We took a sip of the pre-made juice and found a strange taste. It was oddly sweet with a medicine aftertaste. When asking the staff if we could get another they came back at us saying that's how it's suppose to taste and there is no sugar. It was all natural. Since it came straight from a bottle how am I suppose to know how this was made?! So I politely said I didn't like the taste. With no warning she grabbed the juice from my hand, threw it away and walked away. So this is customer service? If the customer has anything to say they are treated like they are wrong. I love the freshness of this place. The fresh produce juices etc. they also have a decent really cheap breakfast. However I'm not a fan of the heated food. They have a huge variety but it looks greasy and unhealthy. Although I wouldn't doubt it's tasty.... The seating area is outside so on a very hot day it's not that comfortable. However, I will not ever be going back because my last 2 experiences with them have left me violently ill. First time it happened, I thought maybe it was a coincidence. The absolute worst service I've ever had. We spent $150 for arroz con pollo and maduros for 25 people. They placed the rice with chicken order in one thin aluminum container. When we took it out of the car, it completely fell apart since they did not put two aluminum holders. I bought this for my sister's going away party and we were out of food. I called to see if they can help me out in some way; and the owner and her brother called my husband and I liars and said it was impossible that the container caved in itself. I went in one time and the lady literally advised me to smell the arroz emperial before purchasing bc it smelled rancid to her.
