Sadly, I can no longer include this restaurant as one of my PV favorites. The service is lacking in all aspects. Waitstaff not attentive. Reservation made 6 days in advance but was not acknowledged. One star for the excellent Cesar salad made at table side. One star for the comfortable interior design. One star for the panoramic view. Rib eye steak ($720 pesos) tough & not edible. To their credit, deducted from bill. Credit cards but all tips myst be in CASH.

One of the few remaining "old standards" in Puerto Vallarta, everything about this place is delightful. The location in the Alta Vista neighborhood (the hillside just south of Zona Romantica) provides a great view of the city and the bay, the house is a gorgeous hand-built architectural artifact that hasn't been destroyed with unfortunate renovations, and the staff--Victor manages the dining room, Hector manages the kitchen--are skilled professionals. To top off the experience, every plate and every cocktail are well prepared from fresh ingredients.

We are sure to eat here on every trip. The food is amazing as well as the staff and the view. I had the yelapa tuna with mango and the hibiscus salad. We always save room for the bananas flambé. It is a beautiful display and tastes even better. Thank you Juan 1 and Juan 2.

Good grilled fish dinner w side of veggies. Their bread is good, we had very salad that was very yummy. Wine good. Prices average for this type of restaurant. Service excellent. Great views. They have a small bar area that would be cool to hang out in.

The food here was amazing! Definitely coming back and making this spot a must visit when In puerto Vallarta! Alexis, Victor, and Juan were awesome to us. Great customer service. The Views here are great. We showed up before sunset.

This is truly PV's hidden treasure. And it is hidden: high, high up on a steep hill. We eat there every time we visit, and at least a couple of times the Uber driver didn't know how to find the place. But it's worth the trouble. The food is delicious, the drinks are perfection, the service is excellent, and the VIEW! Incomparable. The city, bay, and ocean are spread out below the terrace. A retractable roof opens up the sky as well. We always save Gonzalez for our last night in Puerto Vallarta, and it never disappoints. If you're in PV and looking for an extraordinary dinner look no further. Take a taxi or Uber, you can't walk it unless you're a mountain climber already. You won't be sorry.

Beautiful sunset view from the rooftop dining elfrescio.

This classic gem of a restaurant is amazing!! The view is spectacular for sure but the service and food were also amazing! Victor took great care of us and his table-side, made from scratch Ceasar salad was great. Yes, it is not creamy and a big "bowl" of salad like in the USA, but is it as authentic as can be and delicious!! The place is a jaunt to get to and the property a bit worn, but still awesome food, service & views!!

If there is one place not to miss when in PV, this is the place. The food is great, the drinks are great, the entertainment is great, service was great and the view SPECTACULAR. You must take a taxi hear unless you have climbed Mt. Everest as this sits atop the hills up high. A quick taxi ride gets you to the top. Upon arriving we were greeted by two young children, probably ages 7 and 10. They were so cute, asking us if we had a reservation and then escorting us inside. Love the work ethic! We first had a Mai Tai and a Tamarind Margarita. Most people don't know about the Tamarind Margarita in Mexico but if you can get one try it. They are not all the same and this one was good. We had several salads for starters and they were good with fresh orange and green peppers carrots, and tomato. Simple but fresh and a nice start. For the Maine course my wife and I split the Seafood Platter for two and it was excellent (except the calamari was a little chewy, not the best. However, that was a tiny piece of the entire Platter. The Platter contain two of everything large, including lobster tails, huge prawns, bay scallops (Small cup), fish filet, whole mini crab, mussels, and lobster roll, as well as a fried scallop and cheese ball. We were full at the end for sure. They had a 3 piece band with two guitars and a pan flute and recorder player and they were excellent. Not too loud and worth paying a few bucks to play at your table. Always tip musicians and if they offer to play they do expect a tip. Well worth it. After dinner we had the Mexican Coffee which is really after dinner entertainment with a drink ending. Our server was great pouring just the right amount of Tequilla and Other ingredients in the preparation trays the giving us a nice liquid fire show. If you have never seen this, do it. The Coffee was outstanding and I have had these probably 30 times in Mexico. This one was exceptionally good. ***IMPORTANT*** You must tip cash here. They will not put it on the credit card so make sure you bring Pesos. For what we had it was about 600 Peso so if you are 3 or more have at least 1000 pesos to make sure you are covered on the tip. As we exited the restaurant they had already arrange for a cab before we finished dinner and the two boys took the ladies and offered their arms to escort them to the taxi. The older boy opened the door and while the little one had my daughter his cell phone rang ( a bit young for a cell but hey maybe he was the boss!). He walked away and was chatting and I told him to come back over in Spanish. I gave them both a nice tip and they were so appreciative. The older one in Spanish said "you don't walk away!", it was really funny! Impressive two well dressed young kids are part of the atmosphere and we thought it was great. They were so polite and spoke perfect English (although I only spoke Spanish to them). A great evening by all. 5 stars The song for this review is Bing Crosby's "Red Sails In The Sunset" as I watched the local Pirate Ship sailing across the bay during the sunset from our table.

Really nice place for the views while you dine or a nice date night on the patio. The service could have been better but it wasn't bad. I think they were just really busy, but the food was amazing. I had the steak with lobster and was in heaven.

While the wait can be a bit unpredictable, it's usually not too long, especially during the summer. However, if you visit in the winter, it can take a while. The food here is reasonably priced and the portions are generous. The only thing that confuses me is the fruit water of the day. The cups are incredibly small, and for 30 pesos, I expected more. I've noticed that some tables have their water refilled, while others have been changed. I'm not sure if this is a policy or just a coincidence. The service is okay, but nothing extraordinary. They have a limited number of tables and don't have air conditioning, so it can get quite hot inside and outside. However, you're here to eat and go, so don't expect a sit-down experience. One important thing to note is that they only accept cash. So, make sure to bring some pesos with you.

It's thicker, more cheesy than what I've ever had before and very delicious. We paired that with the prime rib tacos, it was a plate stacked with meat and 4 tortillas under it, more than we could eat. The seasoning was great, it was diced so small that it was easy to eat. The ribeye had so much fat that we had to pick through it just to eat it. The al pastor was very average - I've had much better at plenty of other taco spots. The biggest disappointment was the chorizo. It wasn't traditional chorizo at all; it looked and tasted more like chopped-up hot dogs. We barely touched it because it wasn't what we ordered expecting, and it just wasn't good. The presentation also wasn't appealing. The meat was simply piled on top of two tortillas, making everything messy and difficult to eat. They were also pretty stingy with the grilled jalapeños. The salsas didn't do the food any favors either. None of them really stood out, and the green guacamole salsa actually tasted like it had gone bad, so we stopped eating it. Service was attentive, but almost too attentive. Staff kept coming by every few minutes to ask if we were finished or if we needed anything. While I appreciate good service, it made us feel like we were being rushed through our meal instead of being able to enjoy it at our own pace. Overall, I don't understand the high ratings based on our experience. With so many amazing taco spots in Puerto Vallarta, this one didn't come close to meeting the hype. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back.
