Once we ordered, the food took around 40 minutes to arrive even though the restaurant was only about half full. We also noticed a few tables that came in after us getting their food first. That can happen, so it was not a huge deal, but it definitely stood out. The biggest issues came when the food arrived. Our friends' meals were good, but instead of the spinach con queso we ordered we were brought the spicy bean dip. By the time the correct appetizer finally came out about 10 minutes later we had already started eating our chimichangas. The spinach con queso was extremely runny, had almost no flavor, and honestly was not edible. We asked to have it removed from the bill and our server was very kind about it. I do want to say that this was not a bad experience because of the server. She was friendly and did her best. It really felt like the restaurant was understaffed and set up to struggle. We actually frequent the Glendale location and absolutely love it. The staff there is always welcoming, the food is consistently fresh and packed with flavor, and the whole place has a warm, authentic atmosphere. While the Goodyear location is definitely newer and has nicer accommodations, it feels much more corporate and seems to be missing some of the culture and charm that makes the Glendale location so enjoyable. Overall it was not a terrible meal, but it also was not one that left us wanting to come back to this location.

He personally visited the restaurant OVER A WEEK in advance spoke with the manager, and made reservations for a group of nearly 20 people and selected the section for that group size to ensure everything would go smoothly. Unfortunately, from the moment we arrived, everything went wrong. We were seated and waited over 30 minutes without being greeted, offered menus, or even given water despite asking multiple times. The restaurant's air conditioning appeared to not be working, and with temperatures around 110° outside, it was unbearably hot inside. By the time we left, my hair and makeup were ruined from sweating. To make matters worse, while we were sitting there waiting, we received a text stating that our reservation had been canceled. The table we had reserved had been given away to another group. The waitress we repeatedly asked for water was extremely rude, and when we went to the bar ourselves just to get a drink, we still received no assistance. One of the chairs was broken and actually collapsed underneath my husband. When we tried to speak with the manager about everything that was happening, he simply threw his hands up and walked away. There was no apology, no attempt to resolve the situation, and no concern whatsoever for our group. What was especially telling was that even the guests seated near us--who ended up at the table we had reserved--were having service issues and had to get their own water. They were so frustrated that they wanted to walking out along with us, they didn't and I see they also left a bad review. I am so sad for them as well. I understand that things happen. Air conditioning issues, staffing shortages, and busy Saturday nights can be beyond a restaurant's control. What is in their control is how they treat their customers. Not once did anyone acknowledge the situation, communicate with us, apologize, or attempt to make things right. When you have nearly 20 people gathered for a birthday celebration on a Saturday night, you can't simply find another restaurant at the last minute. What should have been a special evening turned into an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience. The lack of customer service, communication, and basic hospitality was shocking. We left feeling ignored, disrespected, and completely let down.

I ordered their famous menudo and tamales rojos and verdes de pollo. The menudo was pretty clean, not excessive fat, smelled like it supposed to and also had pata, it was not very tasty I can actually say it was pretty bland to be a menudo, but I fixed because I was home, added some spices and some chili, at the end it was better. The tamales are actually good, but they're missing some salsa because when you swallowing are very dry, they just need some more salsa and they'll be great, they're tasty and has a pretty good amount of meat too. Would I recommend you this place, yes but don't have high expectations about flavor. I might go back just to try something else.
