How good is the food at El Paso? This good.
    Robby M.

Just kidding. About the Spanish, not the food; the food was fabulous. The salsa has a fruity taste to it that is both different and delicious without taking away from the salsa experience. You also receive black bean dip on the house; yep, good, too. The dip had a great texture and a full, rich taste. Cheese enchiladas, anyone? You have to try these. The cheese was smooth and creamy, and the red sauce had that same fruity undertone. Very authentic, yet that little hint of citrus sent them over the top. I tried the taco trio, three of your choice on flour or corn tortillas and sent to the table with cilantro, lime, onions and a spicy, green salsa. Carne asada, al pastor, and barbacoa. The carne asada was far and away the best of the three. Seriously delicious, with a smoky flavor that stood up very well to the veggies and herbs. Shared a cup of the chicken tortilla soup. It's a tangy, broth-y style soup that really warms you up, and it's thick enough to be a hearty meal, too. The meal was finished up with a shared flan. Not too sweet, the flavor was wonderful. The texture was less smooth than I usually like, but I will order this again. The atmosphere is terrific; this used to be a Macaroni Grill and the brick finish turns the south of the border decor into something special. Kudos to our servers; we got there only a short time before closing, but they were gracious, helpful, and encouraged us to take our time. We'll definitely be back here! Update to my review: the last couple of times we've been here, Christian has been our server and he is top notch: Always remembers how I like my meal, takes care to bring me the special spicy sauce from the back of the house, and does a terrific job keeping the kids supplied with chips. I hope I can get back again this week!

I go here a lot since I work right next door. The service is always great, some truly nice people here. The food is yummy and relatively cheap. Happy hour is until 7 pm and the House margaritas are strong. They have a variety of à la carte options and meals. When the weather is nice I like to sit outside. They also frequently have live music if that's your sort of thing. My most ordered item is the shredded chicken quesadilla. So delicious! I also love the Nachos Locos, but I can only share this with others because it's too large! Shrimp, steak, chicken and queso!

Everything is sooooo good. Cant believe I'm just finding out about it. Definitely ask for the "flour" chips. Very yummy upgrade. & fresh fruit in the margaritas

Had a big family dinner and the food was fabulous all the way around. The service was excellent. Delicious queso and bean dip as well. Flautas, tamales and tacos were enjoyed as well! The pineapple jalapeño margarita is definitely a winner but just be careful if you order the large!! And did I mention the Churros!

This is your standard, run of the mill style Mexican food. The place is big and has a full-service bar as well as a large dining room. The bar has plenty of TVs so good for having a drink and socializing or just watching a game. The staff is friendly and courteous, even though some of them don't speak fluent English, they do try their best to provide a comfortable experience. Overall the food is mediocre especially for a chain with as many locations as they have. Although I love Mexican food my favorite part of any Mexican meal is a delicious margarita. We started the meal with a small regular margarita on the rocks and a small strawberry margarita on the rocks, both drinks were well made and tasted pretty good and the price is fair. I had a chicken quesadilla, soft beef taco, and cheese enchilada and my wife had a cheese enchilada and a hard chicken taco, a pretty simple meal so you would expect it to be pretty easy to get right. Unfortunately not only did the meal lack much flavor but felt like something you might find in a school cafeteria. The chicken was very moist but didn't have much flavor, the cheese enchiladas were filled with what looked and tasted like queso sauce and were covered with a very plain red sauce. The soft beef taco had some flavor but was a little dry and could have used a little more seasoning, probably the best of the three items but that's not really saying much. While the drinks were good the food leaves a lot to be desired and left both me and my wife disappointed.

And then there was one. Lol

From the moment we walked in they treated us like we were their only customers. It was just my son and myself. The food was the best we had had in a very long time. We will most definitely make it a regular spot.

This was my first time at this location and everything was wonderful! The chips & salsa & bean dip are all perfect. My fajitas were excellent, and my family members loved their enchiladas. I don't think we had any leftovers! Service & atmosphere also get an A+!

They were very attentive and on top of everything. The drink order was taken promptly and surprisingly a very quick turnaround considering how busy they were. I had an old fashioned and my wife had a lemon basil martini. You would think that I would learn by now that what ever the locals use as a syrup for the old fashioned I don't care for. As much as I like them I continue to try them at various restaurants and eventually I will find a watering hole that I like. Now as for the martini it was magnificent. I'm not a vodka person but this is definitely worth a try. It was light and refreshing with the perfect balance of basil and lemon. We ordered calamari as an appetizer and it was done just right, and if you like calamari then you know what I mean. For dinner my wife and I shared the Blackened Redfish LaFourche. It was delicious. We had a table near the front of the restaurant overlooking lake ponchatrain. We were able to see the sunset and then the distant lights over the horizon. Very nice. When it comes to parking it's ALWAYS difficult when you are visiting any of the businesses on the lake front and don't get me started on the lack of handicap spots let alone their poor condition. Overall we would recommend this place.

Then she told me that they just had a class on food allergies This is really exceptional that a restaurant is taking up their own initiative to learn about food allergies so that they can service their customers with better care While the food is definitely excellent with the capacity to offer different options for the different dietary needs that people have and the staff is educated, I just wish that they had better coffee at the Mandeville location like a cappuccino or a café latte Still an excellent choice

Food finally brought out as they realize they messed up. No apology or appetizer or discount offered but ok if the food is good my family and I will be ok. My take on the food, we had cup of seafood gumbo and friend shrimp n catfish. Catfish had a lot of silver belly skin still on it with no seasoning. The shrimp not many on platter and no seasoning. When I say no seasoning there wasn't even salt on it. The seafood gumbo had a watery okra flavor no seasoning. Wife had potato salad which is white and it was okay but it ruined her stomach afterwards the reason I know? She was the only one who ate it. Looking at the customers inside, it looks like a good place for the elders and senior citizens maybe that's why they don't know what seasoning or salt is. We wont be back and if ponchatrain was open it would be my first choice. Next time I will fight the crowd and go to New Orleans seafood n spirits.

He travels between Louisiana and Mississippi with his food truck, and every time I've seen him, there's been a long line. I arrived around 10:50 a.m. for the 11:00 opening, and there were already 60-70 people ahead of me. Even with that crowd, the line moved efficiently. I had my food by about 11:40, which I thought was a very reasonable wait considering how busy they were. Once you placed your order, they were calling names within just a few minutes. The staff seemed organized and kept things moving. I ordered one of the crab special, which advertised as including two eggs. I was actually really looking forward to them--I had even texted my partner beforehand asking if we should order extra eggs! Unfortunately, when I got my order, there weren't any eggs included. It did come with extra crab clusters, so maybe that was meant as a substitute, but I would have preferred the meal to match the menu. I also paid for two extra cups of butter but only received one. As for the food itself, the flavor was good, though not something I'd personally crave often. I also wish there had been spice level options since I enjoy my seafood much spicier. I understand it's a food truck, so there are naturally some limitations. I also hung around in the area and noticed they were still serving an hour plus after I got my order- with only 5-7 people in line. That being said- they had plenty, so no need to be there right at opening... Overall, I had a positive experience. The service was efficient, the operation was well-run, and despite a couple of missing items, I'd still recommend giving The Crab Man a try. Just be sure to double-check your order before you leave.

I asked why and she said it is a rule because if a group of five or more come in they need the round table. I looked at three large round empty tables that could seat five or more. I asked to speak to the manager or owner and she replied she is not here and walked off. We went to a square table and had our meal. Only two other people came in while we were there and the same lady told them to sit anywhere. The food was good, the young people who served us were excellent but the manager was rude, devoid of any concept of the importance of good customer service and unyielding in her effort to follow her rule. Had I been alone, I would have left. I definitely will not go back.

Then at least three servers walked by us and didn't make any eye contact nor did the bartenders who also saw us waiting. The manager came by and then checked is in for our reservations and took us to a table. The hostess then wished us a nice meal. Luckily, our server Regan saved the day with exceptional service. She was friendly, attentive, and personable. Regan would accompany the guy dropping off the food to let us know the rest of the food was coming or just to check that we received what we ordered. My son enjoyed the BBQ Shrimp Pasta while my husband really liked his Etouffee Empanadas. The Blackened Scallops with Lobster Risotto looked delicious and my brother in law enjoyed it. My mother in law shared a few of the dozen Charbroiled Oysters she had for her entree. They were plump and juicy with great flavor. We ended the evening with Dragonfruit Sorbet, Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, Creme Brulee, and of course an Espresso Martini.
