We just left the drive thru after purchasing 2 dozen of bakers dozen of tacos from your location. One of our orders was to make those suprême.... no lettuce and tomatoes. The only thing we wanted on one dozen of those tacos was to add sour cream. Granted.... you're already saving in not having to give us lettuce and tomatoes as we ordered them without. Most places will let you know up front and tell you if there is going to be a big upcharge and offer you another way to save you money. This isn't a 5 star sit down restaurant. This is a drive thru only taco joint. We wondered why our bill was so high, but didn't notice until we got home and looked at the receipt to see that you charged us 8.97 for sour cream. You did not tell us that it would be 9.00 extra to simply add sour cream. You could have simply charged us .69 one one order of a sour cream and we could have put the sour cream on ourselves! This is ludicrous and it's sinful that you would rip off your customers by charging them an extra .69 per taco, when you simply could have given us one order of side of sour cream for 69 cents which would have been more than enough to cover the entire dozen. Sour cream does not cost that much and you don't use but a dollop for each taco. We could have bought a couple of quarts at the grocery store for what you charged us to add a teaspoon to each taco! I called to complain and question this outrageous charge and the manager argued with me and wouldn't give me any kind of credit nor work with me on this. She was rude, sarcastic and hung up on me. I called back to get her name and it is Jenna Martinez! She should NOT be in management at all! Your management along with her staff needs to be retrained in customer service and how to interact properly, treat customers and be upfront about your extra charges that you sneak in on people. First of all, it is now drive-through only. The dining area is storage so the place looks like it's closed except for a flashing neon sign in the window that says it's open. OK so it's cool that it's drive-through only and there's enough parking if you want to eat in the parking lot in your car it's just a convenient place for a fast food fix. The food is still relatively tasty. The mild sauce is still pretty bland. The hot sauce is decent. The service is nice with the drive-through. Tried this place for the first time. I was craving hard shell tacos, so that's what I got. In a nutshell, they taste very similar to Taco Bell's hard tacos. Pretty weird. I was expecting more of an authentic Mexican taste. Came with lettuce, shredded cheese, tomato, and sour cream. I also had the deluxe (or is it supreme?) enchilada. Overall, it was pretty good! It was full of flavor. Nice dollop of sauce, cheese, and packed with ground beef. Speaking of ground beef...I'm not too sure how I feel about the texture of their ground beef. It's almost TOO soft. This is the last Taco Tico location in the state of Louisiana. The company is actually based out of Wichita, Kansas and the remaining locations are privately owned. (According to Wikipedia) We got take out here this past Saturday for lunch. Currently, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they are only doing drive-thru service. There was a little bit of a line when we showed up, but their crew kept it moving pretty quick. They have a decent sized menu with a variety of the typical Mexican entrees offered (Tacos, Burritos, Enchiladas, Quesadillas, etc). The portions were ample and the prices were great. I got the special they were featuring which was 3 Carnitas Tacos for $6.95. They were excellent. I would definitely go back for more of those. read more

Their sauce is totally different than any other sauces out there in the Mexican food take-out industry. Just writing about now, I can taste it and crave it! We had their enchiladas, crispy tacos, burritos, sanchos and guacamole. Yum, yum. We usually order from their plate menu and they are more than ample. People say this place is a dump. The decor is not current, and I can see why people would say its a dump. BUT, I really like the food. I keep going here. I cant explain it. Normally a moron is working at the front counter, hopelessly devoid of any modicum of training. They have no idea what comes in each item, they cant use the register, they have a lost blank stare as they press random keys on the register while the cook yells up the directions for operating the register. They play with their cell phones, and say "what?" alot. They have to ask you 5 times what you wanted to drink, and the place always smells like pine sol. When you finally get your order, and you sit down, all that melts away. There is something comforting about the food. It tastes good, and I love the sauces. I in no way felt like I wasted my money. I am stuffed and let me just say the Meat Lovers Quesadilla was my favorite f everything I bought. I am in love witg their Green Chili Sauce and I just know I will be back at this joint. I'm not a big fan of enchiladas but their sauce was pretty good. Somehow over my entire life, I've never stopped at any of the Taco Ticos in the area, they slowly started closing over the years until the point where the only one left is this location on Williams. I made a point of checking it out last night while waiting for my wife to get out of work. It's a throwback to the 1980s and possibly earlier, in all the good ways. The food is freshly prepped to order and hits a sweet price point where it ends up being cheaper than the other fast food taco place, coincidentally I believe their "DRIVE THRU OPEN" sign came from there those neon colors bring me back to when I was a teenager. Love Taco Tico! Been going here since 1991 when I first found them in Magnolia, Arkansas. Sadly they are no longer there and these restaurants are closing left and right with the latest casualty being the Metairie location. I really don't understand it although the Metairie location was not taken care of at all and was quite run down. Anyway, great food. Much better than Taco Bell. The enchiladas and burritos are delicious! I always get the mexican dinner with a taco, burrito, enchilada, beans, rice and chips. Can't go wrong.
