I regret ever walking into this place. From the moment I stepped inside, it felt like the restaurant had given up on the concept of quality entirely. The tables were sticky, the music was way too loud for no reason, and the menu looked like it hadn't been updated (or cleaned) in years. The food somehow managed to be both bland and confusing at the same time. The chips were stale, the salsa tasted like watered-down tomatoes, and the tacos were so soggy they basically fell apart before I could even pick them up. I honestly don't know how something that should be simple ended up tasting this bad. It felt like the kitchen just threw random ingredients together and hoped no one would notice. Service wasn't any better. It took forever for anyone to come by our table, and when they finally did, they seemed annoyed that we were even there. Our drinks were wrong, our food took way too long, and no one checked on us after it arrived. By the end, I was mostly impressed that a restaurant could get so many things wrong at once. Good place for late night dinner since most restaurants in Slidell close bit earlier. I really like the complimentary chips & salsa! Salsa has a slight kick, chips are perfectly light & crispy. The Chicken Flautas were excellent, not too greasy with generously portioned chicken meat. Even the side of Pico De Gallo & Guacamole were good! Service level was attentive & efficient, great customer service. Drinks to go also available! I stopped there on Cinco de Mayo before the lunchtime menu had ended with my three other sisters after making funeral arrangements for my mother. Although the place looked a little dingy, we decided to eat outside to get fresh air. We waited forever for anyone to even acknowledge we were there we were seated by someone in the restaurant, not seated by ourselves finally someone came by and gave us menus. We asked for chips and salsa. We told them we're there for the lunch menu and then they proceeded to tell us we were too late. I said that's because we weren't waited on. We have been sitting here someone sat here and we looked at our phone to see what time we were being seated and it was 2:55. No one spoke English or could communicate properly with us. We proceeded to order drinks. The drinks were terrible the waiter who spoke no English had to keep getting other people to come help us interpret what we wanted to the waiter now mind you we are in Slidell Louisiana. I am not in Mexico City, we will then after seated and having our drink finally brought to us that we couldn't get the lunch menu and they argued and argued. We finally got the manager there and he said go ahead and take their order. He took our order and the order was completely messed up. They kept bringing us other people's food the food itself was average at best, then when the bill came, there were so many à la carte items added that we did not even order so we had to have an argument with the waiter who didn't understand us, and then the manager came over again for us to tell him that these items were not what we ordered nor where we gonna pay for them he refused to speak to us and walked off. I wrote no tip on the bill, even though we were going to dispute this amount with the bank because it was the absolute worst service that I could possibly tell you at any restaurant I've ever been to in Louisiana, but when my sister got her bank statement, they stole from her. They added a $10 tip even though in print it said no tip we are now going after them for stealing please do not ever go there. Try la Carreta's or somebody else. read more

After living in Texas in the Dallas area for over twenty three years I was pleasantly surprised with this place. The restaurant is really large with lots of seating. The servers were attentive. A few times we had minor mistakes with our orders. I think that's due to the language barrier with some of the servers. Just make sure you are clear with any deviations from the normal way the dish is served. The food has been pretty great. Fresh and homemade. The dishes we ordered tasted homemade and were seasoned well. I really like the chips and hot sauce (salsa). That bean dip they give you is pretty great too. Also, they have good queso. Those are the first items I judge at a Tex Mex restaurant. Try the chicken and beef fajitas, the shredded chicken chimichanga with queso or the Carne Asada. I really enjoyed all of them. P.S. the charo beans are really yummy. The taste like someone's grandma's recipe. Add a little hot sauce to it if you like a little extra kick. read more

I like coming here. The food has your standard Mexican restaurant flavor. I haven't had anything bad and typically get the tacos Mexicanos. I like the rice and soup that comes with it. They have two for one margaritas and the flavor is good. Not too sweet and true lime flavor. I also enjoy the bean dip that comes with the chips. If you have kids this is a great place to come. You can sit outside and let the kids play on the attached playground. It's fenced in so they can't get out and the adults can sit at the table and have a good time. read more

Took my family for dinner on March 20th Sunday for a great meal at this restaurant. The service, food and atmosphere was great as my grandkids took advantage of the playground while we relaxed after dinner. Food was excellent and very fresh. The portion sizes are incredibly big; the ambiance is bright, colorful and warm. Only thing that keeps this from being a 5 star review was the service. It's not that service was slow, our server seemed like she would rather have been anywhere else on the planet other than work. Very unfriendly. We've eaten here several times being that we're locals. This is the first time that we've ate there at 2:00 pm. We mostly go in the evening. The restaurant was not crowded whatsoever, probably two other tables. Our waiter never checked on us, had to find someone to get the check and during this time it seemed that there was a lot of horseplay going on between the staff. None of which were appealing. The rice taste like Jambalaya out of a box, minus adding the meat. It was definitely not what I expected for Mexican rice. The beans were OK. The steak on my quesadilla was very fatty meat. The cheese dip was probably the best thing that this restaurant had to offer, however it was expensive as hell, $7 or $8. When our waitress asked us if we wanted a small or a large, she was like honestly the large is not much bigger, and especially for the price. Our bill was $57.
