I came for a dinner with coworkers. Large parking lot. Wait staff was friendly and patient. The steak burrito was good. Everything was neat and clean. They had live music.

One of our go to Mexican grills in Slidell. Primarily for takeout. My favorite is fajitas with my wife preferring the taco salad.

Me and my family love this place for large family get togethers. My fave is the carne asada plate. Their margaritas are also excellent.

Peruvian food is a flavorful fusion of Indigenous, Spanish, Asian, and African influences known for bold flavors, fresh seafood, rice dishes, and vibrant sauces. Everything we ordered was a hit and I'll definitely be back for more! 1. Chicha Morada - A refreshing Peruvian drink made from purple corn, fruit, cinnamon, and spices with a sweet fruity flavor. (MY FAVORITE) 2. Pulpo a la Plancha - Marinated octopus served with patacones, Peruvian corn, and chimichurri. (FAVORITE) 3. Bisteck A Lo Pobre - Steak with fried egg, fried plantains, sautéed onions, and rice. 4. Al Pastor & Carnitas Tacos 5. Fettuccine a la Huancaína with Lomo Saltado - Creamy huancaína pasta topped with flavorful lomo saltado, parmesan, and plenty of passion. 6. TBD next time Tonylameats Approved

Pablo's - A South American Taste is tucked away on the outskirts of Olde Town Slidell, and from the outside, you'd never guess what's inside. It looks unassuming--almost like a forgotten storefront--but once you walk in, WOW. Modern, stylish, great music, and such a welcoming vibe. The food was exceptional--rich flavors, beautifully executed, and incredibly satisfying. The drinks were just as impressive, creative and perfectly balanced. Every detail felt elevated. The service truly sealed the deal. Gisella was amazing--attentive, kind, and genuinely invested in making sure we had an incredible experience. You can feel the pride and passion here. Parking tip for first-timers: park on the side street since there's little to no parking directly out front. Don't let that deter you--this place is 100% worth the effort. If you love discovering hidden gems, this is your sign. Pablo's is doing something special, and I hope more people find their way here.

It's time to spice up things in 2026! If you're ready to expand your taste buds and try Latin…read moreflavors, then look no further than Que Rico Cuban Cafe! The vibe, ambiance, friendly & stellar service, and top notch food are muy excelente!!! First off, you must order the CAFE CON LECHE (coffee w/ milk)! The strong Cuban espresso will definitely caffeinate your world and you might even ask for a second cup to go! I might be a little biased, but it is the BEST cafe con leche that I've ever had on the Northshore. The cafe con tres leches is another good choice as well. You can enjoy and savor every sip of their coffees any time of year! Next, you must try the Havana Sampler (tostones- fried plantains, maduros- fried, caramelized sweet plantains, croquetas, fried yuca) with fried pork chunks. Yes, I know - everything FRIED makes the world go round! We have only one life to live so you might as well enjoy all the yummy foods from this diverse world of ours! Remember to dip everything in the homemade mojo sauce (it has a strong garlic flavor)! The Cuban sandwich is one of my favorite sandwiches and is a great lunch option. When I want to splurge, I have to get the special oxtail soup. The oxtail is fall-off-the-bone tender and full of flavor. The chef is very creative and offers special dishes throughout the month. Anytime is a good time for cocktails here! I have enjoyed many of their specialty mojitos - the mango and watermelon were both so refreshing to enjoy on a sunny day. They even have a mojito flight if you can't decide on one flavor. I also enjoyed the caipirinha (Brazilian national cocktail), which surely packs a punch (but in a good way!). Que Rico is a spacious, beautifully decorated restaurant and is the perfect place for a small or even larger group! On certain nights, they even have salsa dancing, which provides for a fun and more lively evening! Make plans to visit Que Rico for coffee, drinks, or enjoy a meal with family and friends ...it will be a fabulous fiesta FUN-day !!!

A Latin style tapas place in the arts district boasting flavors from South America (Argentina,…read morePeru, Venezuela, Yucatan), Mexico (Oaxaca and Mexico City), and the Caribbean. Fresh seafood from the Gulf of MEXICO and a wicked drink menu. They offer several ceviches. Tapas include guacamole, empanadas, crawfish queso, fish dip and veggie salads like crispy cauliflower and Brussels sprouts. We had the crispy cauliflower served with tempura, cashew habanero crema, garbanzo hash, and chimichurri. Loads of flavor and just the right bite size for tapas/apps. Plates include churrasco, fish and grits, paella (can be served veggie or without shellfish if you're allergic), lamb, Yucatan style pork, shrimp or steak mofongo, and chicken poblano. I had the churrasco, served with papas bravas. Steak cooked perfectly and seasoned perfectly. My husband had the steak mofongo and the beef tips, like the churrasco, were seasoned perfectly. The plantain mash was sweet and somehow savory at the same time. We loved both dishes. They make mean margaritas and caipirinhas hre, and also offer drinks like the paloma, the Bolivian sour, sangria, and specialty drinks. Service was amazing. She was so upbeat and helpful. This restaurant was a little slow when we went. It deserves a lot more love. It's so close to the touristy part of the French Quarter. Leave the gimmicky spots and come here, you won't regret it.
