Surprisingly great experience here. Asked the server if the Spanish Rice (no animal broth) and refried beans (lard) were vegan. She said she knew the beans were ok but checked with the cook on the rice and it was, too! We ordered the Fajitas Vegetarianas with no sour cream and corn tortillas and the Tacos Toreados with no cotija cheese and corn tortillas. Both dishes were tasty and filling. Next time we'll just split the Fajitas and order an extra side of tortillas as it was a lot of food. The decor is very traditional and the service was efficient and helpful. I have to say I was very disappointed in my visit this time. Their food is always really good and has great flavor. Most Mexican restaurants do not have any flavor in their food. And the flavor of the food was great. I was just shocked how tiny my chimichanga was. I ordered the chimichanga with shrimp and the chimichanga was very tiny which you will see in the picture barely the length of the top of my fork. I had a plate full of rice and refried beans. Lots of lettuce, tomato and sour cream but this supposedly guacamole looked like guacamole cream. Which you will see from the picture. It did not look like real guacamole. I have to say my service was excellent even though the waiter was waiting on both rooms and being the bartender, he did an excellent job and made the best Margarita. I said it looks like you're working all by yourself tonight. You're the host, the bartender, and the waiter for both rooms, and he said the manager is here. I saw the manager come out twice and bring some food but a little bit later I saw a cook come out and go to the bathroom so it wasn't because the manager was cooking. read more

The place was amazing, all the way. We were pretty hungry and didn't want to wait 45 minutes to 2 hours in the main street so we decided to drive 12 minutes to this amazing spot. Let's start with the Margaritas, delicious is short to say! We tried the Texas, skinny, and tamarind one(we're 4) and all of them were amazing. Then we went for the guacamole made at the table side, another winner, just like in Mexico or the one we make at home (I'm Mexican just to clarify why the one at home) then the main dishes we're: chile Relleno, quesadilla with spinach, sopes, and fajitas. The last two were not only super good but portions we're big. For a day with less sun or if you prefer outdoors because of COVID, they have it as well. Highly recommend making the drive and leave the main street! read more

This place was terrible from a food quality and taste stand point. The taco salad was a taco soup of ground beef grease atop 60/40 beef. If you order the " award winning" guacamole, prepare yourself for a quarter of a bowl of guacamole. It consisted of a single avocado atop the less expensive avocado paste menu item. Really nice local restaurant in the heart of Sevierville! Extensive menu and great chips and salsa (not the crap El Paso serves). My wife and I have been several times and we enjoyed the freshness of the ingredients and quality for the price. She always gets the chicken chimichanga and I tried the Sopas with pork and beef. Oh my my! Service is nice and not intrusive or overbearing. Very quiet setting for conversation and very convenient if you are in Pigeon Forge or Sevierville. Do yourself a favor and eat local. read more

Eating outside with 7 others (friends & family) was pleasant, even with a few bugs. Our server was pleasant, and efficient. We all ordered something different, and a few of us had the $2.99 Margaritas (delicious). Chips and salsa was great, and we ate so many that we almost didn't have room for our chicken fajitas for two. They were delicious, and we had leftovers to bring home. No room for dessert. This place is a good Mexican restaurant!! Went on a Friday around 12:40pm with 3 other people. We were seated right away, they gave us some chips and salsa (the chips weren't stale at all they were nice and crunchy and the salsa was good). the waiter was nice and very on point and he had his mask on, Everyone ordered something different and they all said it was really good. I ordered the tacos in the picture and they were super yummy also got the guacamole and it was good (our Total was around $70) everything was warm and fresh. Solid Mexican food. It was just as you'd expect. They have a nice patio where they have distanced the tables and their indoor seating was spaced with some tables off limits. Their servers were all masked - surprised not gloved. Their salsa was good and the refried beans were as well. The basic margarita was basic... ie juice with a splash of tequila. The waiter got my order wrong (a combo where I choose the items) but it was fine - what he brought was still delicious. Kids were happy. Reasonably priced. read more

Ate here twice while on vacation. It was definitely by choice and not chance. After eating there the first time, the whole family requested to go back for another meal. There were 1-2 hour wait times at other spots down in Pigeon Forge, but here we walked right in and we're seated. It was delicious! We had two kids, two adults, and grandma, and we were all satisfied. Tableside guac to start - excellent. Enchilada plate (the best!), make-your-own combo plate, kids taco, and kids chicken nugget/fries were all great. Generous portion sizes. Burritos came with only meat - could ask for add-ons. We went specifically for the table side guacamole. The staff clearly didn't feel like dealing with it that evening after helping a larger party that made them want to coast through the rest of the evening. We were told the avocados weren't ripe enough. While I was still eating, they kept asking if we were ready for our check. If they didn't want us to be there at all I wish they would have just locked the doors and then I could have just gotten a pizza. Very disappointed read more

I rate a Mexican restaurant on two criteria: margaritas and carnitas. This place wins on both counts. The house margarita is simple and perfect: nothing extra, nothing missing, well balanced. I got the Carnitas Salsa Verde (my favorite style) and let me tell you, this place knows how to treat a pig. So good. read more

Tried this place on on Monday April 1st. Place was empty got are food to go. Got to cabin and I had hairs in my nachos. Then my cheese quesadilla was heated up in a dirty pan or grill top cause there was burnt pieces of food earlier cooked on in check the picture cant make this up. I would fire the cook that worked that night hairs then burnt food on quesadilla. No good. I was surprised by the previous reviews as when we stopped to pick up food it was dead empty at 5pm. read more

The food itself was actually very good. The fajitas were flavorful, arrived quickly, and were one of the highlights of the meal. However, when they were served, I wasn't given an extra plate. I had to ask multiple times before one was finally brought over. I wasn't sure if I was expected to assemble my tortillas on my lap. The one bright spot of our visit was Alex, who was bussing tables. He was genuinely kind, attentive, and treated us with respect. His friendliness stood out and was honestly the best part of our experience. Thank you, Alex, for showing us the level of hospitality we expected from the beginning. Great food can only carry a restaurant so far. Service matters, and feeling welcomed matters even more. While the food was flavorful and arrived promptly, the way we were treated left a lasting negative impression. We won't be returning, and I truly hope management addresses the customer service issues because the kitchen is doing its part--the front-of-house staff needs to do theirs.

While on vacation, I was looking for a good Mexican food place to eat. I read reviews for different places but, ended up picking Tequila Spice because I couldn't decide and there was a coupon for 15% off the bill. We weren't sure at first when we walked in because the place was almost empty. I am glad we did. The food was all so amazing. My husband enjoyed everyone getting their own small bowl of salsa because we have 3 kids and they are double dippers. The salsa was great. We ordered the guacamole that was made table side and it was even better than the salsa. There are not a lot of places that make guacamole that I really like and would gladly eat without complaint that mine is better. This one was amazing. Our waiter, I didn't catch his name, was very friendly and was really tolerant to our 4 year old who kept talking to him non-stop. We ordered fajitas for two, and my husband ordered something he wished he could order at our local place. Everything was flavorful and nicely made. I generally have to add a bunch of salsa to my fajitas at the restaurant closer to home because it lacks flavor. I did not have to do that this time. It was great. Also, the 2.99 margaritas were awesome. Generally when margaritas are on sale, you know they are going to be light handed with the tequila but not here. I will be sad to not have this place when we get home. Also should note, I forgot about the coupon and wasn't even mad to pay full price. Visited Tequila Spice this afternoon around 3:00 pm. We didn't catch the waitresses name, but she was wonderful! The food was delicious! It was fresh, homemade, hot, and good sized portions!
