The food was delicious. The service was excellent. I loved the decoration. It was very outdoorsy.

It was easy to get a table on a Wednesday night. The restaurant has a nice rustic decor and a welcoming atmosphere. The wings, which I asked for the hot sauce to be served on the side with ranch dressing, were just okay for me, although true hot wing fans would probably enjoy them more. The bread was decent, but a little too dense for my taste. The steak and mashed potatoes were also okay, and the Caesar salad was a bit more vinegary than I prefer. The server and host were both very friendly and provided great service. Overall, it was a decent experience, but I'd probably try a different restaurant the next time I'm in Valdosta. read more

An amazing place for dinner. Located right off the interstate. Perfect place for an intimate dinner or happy hour. All the food we tried was delicious. And their rolls were a hit at our table. Our server was extra attentive and never allowed our glasses to be empty. Highly recommend this place if you are ever driving past from Atlanta to Florida. read more

I ordered a to go order and spent $170 dollars on dinner. So I expected great quality food. We had the wings and Ahi Tuna as appetizers. The wings were hard and dry. They looked like something I could get from a drive thru. The Ahi had no flavor at all. For entrees, we had the Chicken Florentine and 10oz filet with side Caesar salads. The chicken had what looked like chicken gravy with no spinach at all. So I guess no Florentine. The Filet was cooked perfectly but had no flavor and we had to work it up with some truffle salt and truffle oil plus some steak seasoning. The tiny side Caesar salads were so limp from sitting in dressing we had to throw them out. The side of asparagus was smaller than pencil thin and 4-5 pieces. Definitely lacking. So out of 170 dollars worth of food we ate the mashed potatoes and a worked up steak. We did eat one wing with the homemade Ranch. Kudos for the Ranch since that was actually good. We were definitely disappointed and will not be back. I would say it's good for being in Valdosta but unfortunately I can't even say that. .... read more

I was just passing through Valdosta for the night and it was the closest place that was open. The service was fantastic, but the food was less so. I had the stuffed pork chop, which was recommended by the server and it just was smothered in Velveeta? The french fries were good though. My brother had some baked fish which he said was fair. Good to know --this restaurant is conveniently located just a mile or so off interstate 75 near Valdosta. Just had a great lunch here. I didn't order anything exotic -- just a burger, salad, and steamed vegetables. That might sound like the kind of meal that any place can do well. It's not! The burger at Jacks Chophouse is thick, juicy, and flavorful. The salad was fresh with finely diced cucumbers and diced tomatoes (instead of whole cherry tomatoes). Steamed vegetables didn't have those sketchy baby carrots or the overused zucchini. Instead it had yellow squash, green beans, and broccoli. So good. Service was great. read more

Exceeded my expectations! Traveling between Kansas City and Orlando, I stopped for an overnight. Picked this place because it was close to my hotel. Loved the atmosphere, the service, and the food. I sat at the bar in a low causal seat that made me feel like a king to be waited on. Was highly recommended on yelp so decided to try while traveling through. There were lots of cars but it's a pretty big place so no waiting for a table. When being seated, I noticed the table wasn't clean. Before the waitress came I took out a Lysol wipe and started wiping it down. While wiping, the waitress came and just plunked our utensils and menus down and acted like she didn't even see me cleaning it. Anyway.... We ordered and the food came in a timely manner. I started with the house salad which was fine but when the entrees came the waitress never took my salad bowl or my husbands soup bowl away so when she tried to sit our entrees down "we" had to stack our dishes up so she could set the food down and she never came back and got them. 3 people dining, pork chop which was very good, cheeseburger which was very good "one of the best" and crab cakes which were just average which is really my fault as I know 90% of restaurants don't make a good crab cake as they are more filler than crab. Our waitress wasn't overly friendly just not very attentive and she didn't have a lot of tables. The decor was rustic and looked a little old and there were cobwebs. read more

I tend to take reviews with a grain of salt. I'm amazed at what some folks will complain about. Jack's was a bit all over the place but my colleague and I were only in town for one more night and Steaks were at the top of our list. We were both very presently surprised by the ambience and remoteness of Jacks. We started out with the wrapped quail and the fried Pickles and Maters. Both came as a recommendation from our waiter and he was spot on. Both were tremendously good and had great flavor and heat. If there was an entree version of the quail I would have opted for that! We both got the bone-in Ribeye, loaded mashed potatoes and asparagus. My only complaint would be the asparagus was a bit over cooked. Steaks were cooked perfectly, seasoned appropriately and had a nice smokey char from definitely "kissing the flames". The portions were large and we ended up taking half of it home. Finally our waiter... Noah. His enthusiasm and personality were infectious. Damn good waiter who knew when to be at our table and when to walk away. We had a few laughs with him and he treated us like family. If I am ever back in town I will most definitely be back at Jack's! read more

This place was decent. I tried the steak it was pretty good. I wasn't a fan of the fish dip. The pasta was alright I wouldn't get that again though. She was completely oblivious to the unsatisfied customers around her. Ambiance - cute, but be sure to bring a booster chair if in the bar as bar dining chairs are so damn low you are better off just shoveling from the top down. Plate presentation- Sloppy Sides - Mash potatoes colder than Winterfell, Baked potato came with Walmart cheese and a 8oz helping of Sour Cream, Asparagus......meh. Entree - the most fatty and non "dry aged" steaks I have ever had. The ribeye was fatter than Lizzo. The New York Strip was tougher than a Bronx a hooker. We stopped in while traveling and loved this place. It's now on our list when going through this area. We showed up to eat outside in 50 degree weather because we had a dog with us. They accommodated us with a nice and very warm fire pit on the patio. It was so warm my husband took his jacket off. The food was delicious! We both had the filet, grilled shrimp, and scallops. Unfortunately my steak tasted a bit freezer burnt, lacked flavor and I didn't eat all of it. My fries needed 4-5 more minutes cooking but were still pretty good. Just mushy. My parents & sister brought me here to celebrate my birthday. I have a weakness for shrimp & grits. It's hard to find that fare in Pittsburgh. I was not disappointed. Delicious flavor. Beautiful presentation. My sister had the Hawaiian ribeye which she raves about. We split the pecan pie with ice cream. Very rich, bold flavor. The whole experience was wonderful from the start. We were greeted by a friendly face & promptly seated. Our waitress Angie was attentive & gracious. The managers actually stop at your table to inquire about your experience. If you love bland food and have no taste buds this is the place for you! I was accompanied by a party and one of my friends drink was sugarless and it was "sweet" tea another friend of mine did not like her alcohol beverage, and would like another one made. Our server came back out with the same drink, and after that accompanied the manager. Which was no help. He stated that my friend would have to get another drink instead of taking the charge off...like that's not what was stated in the beginning by my friend. Then once the manager didn't get the reaction he thought we would portray since we are African American he came back towards us ending the dinner and states "Since you were so nice and polite about the Beverage mishap I will NOW take the charge off your ticket" Giving very much racist! read more
