Las Caleñitas is a Resturant located in the heart of Doral . We decided to go have lunch after service and we got there right on time before the lunch rush. This restaurant sits about 30 to 40 people. I love how cozy it is . We waited about 5 minutes before we were seated.Our waitress Genesis was very nice and accommodating. I ordered the seafood fried rice with plantains. And my friend ordered Rice and carne which came with the sides of soup or salad . The soup of choice was sancocho which was delicious . I have been to this restaurant many times but it was my first time dining inside . I will definitely return to try more delicious items on the menu. read more

Been there multiple times and food was great, they usually ask you to leave them a review on Google. Went back today, got sat nearly immediately but service was seriously terrible. I'm not sure if it's because we spoke English the whole time or what. We never got asked our order and we came to the conclusion to just leave after everyone in our section had gotten their order taken and we were left. They would stare at us from across the room and then look away when we'd ask for help. Waited 30 minutes before taking off. My mom and I came here for a late breakfast. It was our first time and we had the pleasure of being served by Alyson. She was so sweet and attentive and broke down the menu for us. Highly recommend. I found this Colombian bakery through Yelp when I was on a trip to South Florida. We were looking for Colombian breakfast and this place was nearby our location. When I first walked in I loved the decor of the restaurant. It had a warm and modern feeling with wood panels and an open space. I was expecting a more traditional take on Colombian breakfast but it was a more elevated offering. For example they had pan de bono waffles and other spin in traditional dishes. The food was good and I'll give it another try if I'm in the area again. The coffee was great too. I saw they also offer lunch and dinner and the dishes on the menu looked good. Service was great. Wow this place was a pleasant surprise! From the moment you come the ambiance of the place captivates you and the staff welcomes you with a big smile! We came for breakfast and we loved all the options they have, it's colombian food but they have very cool authentic dishes but with a twist like pan de bono waffle! My party came into Miami for just a day, but we were told we had to get Columbian food. We found this place and we had such a great time it was a topic of conversation the entire way home. I came in on a Sunday as I was in the area and saw they were open. The restaurant is supposed to be open at 8am. A couple was walking back out disappointed from whatever they were told by the establishment. I was next, and ordered my 3 empanadas and was told I would have to wait 5 minutes as they weren't done yet. So I sat at the bar to watch one customer after another be disappointed by the items they didn't have ready yet. I drank my natural passion fruit juice, which was very nice, not too sweet with a lovely presentation. I asked for my coffee to go but was given in a real mug. I was served the empanadas at 8:55. I ordered them at 8:19am, the receipt I added says the time stamp. So 20+ minutes for 3 empanadas. The servers were very sweet but a bit distracted. Honestly, the empanadas were delicious, I had one meat, one chicken, and one cheese. The chicken was my favorite. They served them with two sauces, which were also very tasty. If I could rate them only on the food I tasted it would be 4 out of 5. But genuinely, if management or owners say they open at 8am, they should make sure they're actually ready to serve customers at that time. I wanted to be great but just missed in too many place. Started off ordered 2 cheese 1 beef empanadas. Received 2 chicken 1 beef. Told of the error and they remade 2 cheese. Cheese was excellent but chicken was as dry as sandpaper. I ordered the Colombian fried fish which looked awesome but fell flat. With no salt or pepper on table and I needed lime and the server just disappeared on us. By the time she came back I was more that half done so at that point it was too late. It's a shame because we are right next door at one of the hotels and I might have went there again, but the trust is gone. read more

We were staying at a nearby hotel prior to leaving for a cruise and went there 2 times before leaving! I had the Mojarra Colombiana, and the Menta Limonada, muy perfecto! However, our most recent experience was deeply disappointing and frankly concerning. I ordered a tamale that had a strong, unpleasant smell -- clearly not fresh. I noticed it the more as I ate more of it and I called the waitress over and even asked her to smell it as well but of course she refused and took the plate When I brought this to the attention of the owner, Juan, he refused to acknowledge the issue or offer any kind of resolution. Not to mention, my husband's eggs were like rubber but we never complained about that . It was shocking and disheartening to be dismissed like that, especially after being such consistent patrons. I am a business owner myself and understand the customer is always right. The issues wasn't paying $18 for a spoiled good, it was the lack of accountability and respect for the client.
