Our total for the two drinks came to $42! So I paused and asked if the tip had already been added, and the bartender sort of mumbled something about "no", so I asked if the drinks were actually $20 each. (I mean, we're in Kendall, not South Beach!) So then he showed me the receipt that showed the drinks were $16.50 each and an auto grat of 20%+ had already been added. I did not add an additional tip on top of that. But the experience was in line with some of what I read here (afterwards) of them being a little scammy financially. My own birthday was celebrated there on karaoke night, and it was one of the most amazing and unforgettable nights. We also celebrated my niece's graduation on karaoke night, and it was another incredible evening filled with friends, family, laughter, and great memories. Seeing an employee post something so negative about an event that so many of us genuinely enjoy is disappointing. From the outside looking in, it seems like there's been a big shift in whoever is running these events. I recently attended both karaoke night and ladies' night, and the atmosphere was completely different from what many of us have come to love. FYI, karaoke night *brings people together*. I can't think of a single time we've gone and not had a great night. That's why this post doesn't reflect what 9 Feet Under has always represented to so many of us. If you work there and karaoke night is that terrible *for you*, maybe it's worth asking yourself why that is. Or perhaps this isn't the right environment for you. But please don't portray an event that has created so many positive memories for so many people as something negative, because that's simply not the experience the rest of us have had. Now you've lost customers!!
