Ok, so keeping in mind I am new to Miami. I didn't know anything about this place or the history. My husband and I had a rare date night and wanted to get a drink somewhere after dinner but before we went home. The first bar we tried didn't work out (long story) and my husband mentioned having seen an interesting bar next to Pisco y Nazca where we had been a few times. So off we went. It was around 9:00 pm, and there was only like one other couple there. My understanding is it's more of a club vibe later so that's prob why. It is all outdoors with a bar across the back. It looked nice and was decorated for Christmas. We chose to stand at the bar instead of sitting at a table which seemed to have service. We ended up ordering a cocktail each (amaretto sour and mojito). There weren't any prices on the menu (except for the specialty cocktails which they were out of). Our total for the two drinks came to $42! So I paused and asked if the tip had already been added, and the bartender sort of mumbled something about "no", so I asked if the drinks were actually $20 each. (I mean, we're in Kendall, not South Beach!) So then he showed me the receipt that showed the drinks were $16.50 each and an auto grat of 20%+ had already been added. I did not add an additional tip on top of that. But the experience was in line with some of what I read here (afterwards) of them being a little scammy financially. I normally love coming to Tucandela whenever we are in the Kendall area. This last time however, the bouncers at the door told us it would be $600 (?!) for a table... outside... in the rain... in Kendall. Sorry, but I would rather take a $20 Uber ride to the beach and go to an actual club in Miami for that price. Came here for the first time on the recommendation of two Salsa Schools that were teaching a taster class. I was really excited to try a new place. Unfortunately, the previous reviews were spot on. If you order any alcoholic beverages, you need to make sure that your double checking all the prices. They will try and sneak in extra drinks or change the price on you by adding extra fees. You also need to be careful with the male bartender's, They have zero empathy and are only looking to make a quick buck. I also found that the alcohol they had poured me was something cheaper and not what I had originally ordered. The tab was charged a much higher price than the standard for any downtown/beach/Wynnwood bar and this is Kendall. Lastly, when we tried to order a glass of tap water, they refused to give any tap and forced us to pay for bottled water at $10 for a small 8oz, then acted like they didn't understand you and walked away. If you refused to buy the bottle they called the bouncer on you. This was very disappointing. When we looked at the receipt, it was charged as Figi when it was a lower brand. The venue is not representative of the Salsa schools that were teaching the class here. the salsa was spot on and amazing people came out to dance. We came here Saturday to celebrate my birthday it turned out to be the biggest mistake that completely ruined my night, the waitress Daylin has a horrible nasty attitude she should really consider finding a new job and stop ruining peoples fun with her miserable personality . She overcharged us for everything we ordered a picada that was $60 according to the menu she charged us $80 we ordered mixed drinks that the menu said $12 she charged $13 what kind of business allows their customers to get scammed like this? We ordered one round of drinks and the tasteless picada grabbed the check and left almost $200 to be treated like garbage the waitress couldn't stop rolling her eyes at everything we asked and couldn't explain why we were charged more. I stopped by here as it's one of the few places open late in Kendall. I paid $20 to get in. The patio was empty so I tried to go inside the main area. I was told it was for bottle service only. I've been here a few times before and I didn't have to buy a bottle to walk inside. I'm not paying $300 for a bottle for myself. I just came to have 2 or 3 beers before heading home. We went for a drink last nite. Super over priced. After ordering our drinks and Hooka, We wanted to go sit outside because the Ac was off or not working. Once outside with drinks in hand and Hooka we were informed that sitting outside even though we had already spent $$ we had to spend another $100 to have a table. I understand you have table rules but after already spending $$ and no Ac i found that they were very rude and un accommodating i will never go there!!!! Horrible Horrible I love to see local business thrive but with Pedro (manager, short fat guy ) at the helm this place is doomed. From the get goes we (party of six) noticed the constant push to order more drinks when drinks were 1/2 way full. We started to observe the directives from Pedro towards his employees, with no shame he gestured to the waitress to bring more drinks after he picked up an empty beer at our table. I guess you must have full drinks on stand by for ALL guest at all times, no exceptions. His gestured in front of us to his employee where clear. Bring more drinks even if they don't ask for it. While in front of 4 police officers, we (2 of us approached Pedro) and express his actions to be uncalled for, pushy, and completely unprofessional. I did ask Pedro in front of the officer, why are you calling an officer over when no laws have been broken. He is a public servant, and has no authority over us until then. Officer walked away and didn't even say a word. PROPS TO MDPD Finally, asked an employee to ask Pedro who was his boss, Pedro's answer, I have no boss. Could not get contact info to escalate Pedro's poor attitude to his superior. Sad to see one person ruin the future of our local business. This bar/restaurant could've been one of my local spots to go. The location is conveniently located in The Palms of Town & Country next to Pisco y Nazca (which is next to Blue Martini). Tucandela has a nice, outdoorsy ambience with palm trees, wooden & greenery decoration. I enjoyed their open format music when I went on Friday. Yes there is no cover charge but they are EXTREMELY PUSHY & UNPROFESSIONAL to get you to purchase drinks and/or bottle. As soon as you come in the bartenders in the front bar call you to come over and start their persistency to buy alcohol in a way that makes it very uncomfortable especially the bartender Sandra/Sarah (not sure which one is her name). The guys next to me kept calling her Sandra, but when I asked her she said it was Sarah. Anyways, back to the customer service - this specific bartender "Sarah" made this group feel so uncomfortable within the 5 minutes they entered that they ended up leaving. I do have to give it up to bartender Sabrina which was working next to "Sarah" she was more tactful in convincing the customers to buy drinks. But you can tell this is upper management's focus and goal - persist and insist on selling alcohol. I guess they don't care that equals bad customer service. If the owner is worried about making ends meet and seeing profit then to alleviate the uncomfortable vibe they should just charge $10 cover that may go to your drink. I say "may" cause some people don't drink so if they're okay to pay $10 that's on them or the person can even have the option to give that drink to a friend. Who cares but at least the business got their $10 from the get and they don't have all of their employees giving bad, ugly customer service. If I can give this place 0 stars I would. I attempted to come here on a Sunday for brunch. The restaurant and their whole patio were empty. I asked the only person working here (younger gentlemen) if they offered a brunch menu or bottomless mimosas. He then told me he only has bottles for mimosas which I had to Purchase minimal $200 bottle. Again, I repeated what I came for, and he told me he can do Prosecco for $45 bottomless. (Which is not what I was asking for!) When I asked him for his pricing he said he "does his pricing depending on his customers." Such garbage customer service. He was rude and unfriendly. While out Sunday night decided to stop at the Town and Country Mall for some ice cream and the a walk around their restaurant and bar area that has a lake with fountain with and colored lights. We noticed very loud music coming from this new establishment called Tucandela Bar and at first glance seemed to be only a few people sitting outside a very nice looking new bar. Inside place was well decorated but almost completely empty with a few employees at the bar. They were very friendly in greeting so we ordered a drink and they told us it gets busy on Friday and Saturday nights. This bar looks like a nice addition to the other bars like Blue a Martini and restaurants like Cadillac Ranch that's making this mall one of the few go to places to party in Kendall, so look forward to returning on a busier night. read more

We had to fight for the credit to be fair because once we were at the restaurant they asked for more money per person, limited how we can spend the deposit. We took a high chair by the entrance he got two beers and within 20 minutes he decided to take me for a dance in the middle of the second song, I saw the manager and a server pushing my sweater n removing his beer and gave our table to another couple when I was making contact with the server to let her know we still there.
