Had the 1/2 order of Carne Asada Nachos. Lot of food. Iuld only eat half. It was very good, tho next time I would buy it with chicken. Carne Asada did not have that much flavor and was a bit tuff. I loved the flan. Will come back fir sure. read more

We went back here to let our boys try the place out. The service was top-notch. The prices were reasonable, considering how expensive everything is now but the overall food was a little on the bland side. We all tried different things. We'll probably go back and give it another try. read more

Drove out to Green Valley for a nice afternoon drive. Stopped here for lunch. Coming from Tucson we have high expectations of Mexican food. Small place that's hidden next to a large furniture store. Was busy lunch crowd but was quickly seated. We were given complimentary chips and salsa- both hot and mild. We each tried something different and each were very good. Service friendly and fast. I loveee el patio! This place truly is the bees knees with such a clean welcoming environment. It is a sit down restaurant so you have to wait to be seated but it is never long even on their busy days. They quickly provide your drinks of choice with their complementary chips and salsa which are quite enjoyable. As someone that likes spicy, I do find the mild salsa to be what it says it is and I find the "hot" to have a dash of heat but what it lacks in heat it makes up for in flavor so no matter there. The waitress was very kind and knowledgeable on the questions that I had. I ended up getting the enchilada plate which I've gotten before and loved. It's a great price for the amount of food. My husband got the carne asada nachos which is an appetizer (I believe) but he had as a main course and it was quite tasty as well. I've been to this restaurant a few times. My parents live in the area. We went for a family dinner and the waitress was amazing. The bartender is an absolute doll. The food is what it is. The salsa was pretty bland and the food was a bit dry. I've never had a dry enchilada without sauce before. I asked the bartender if he had any hot sauce behind the bar ( I was hoping to score some tapatio, cholula etc). He said no but was sweet and went to the back and grabbed some more salsa. This apparently enraged the manager who came out and glared at us the rest of the meal. I'm assuming it was the manager. He had on a backwards hat. I switched seats to be closer to my parents and spilled my filled to the brim margarita and didn't want to make a mess. I again asked the bartender for a different glass without a stem. When I got back to my seat and poured the marg in to the cup, the angry manager guy came over and told me I could not drink it out of that cup. Kudos dude. Worst birthday dinner ever. read more

I knew this restaurant existed, but never really knew the name of it until I had to meet someone "half way." I googled Mexican restaurants in this area and this one came up with many reviews from .. who knew! Yelp!!! As an Elite Yelper, I should have looked her first. But doesn't matter ... google sent me to Yelp anyway. Lot's of 5 star review so we decided to meet here. I can't even remember what I ate, but I do recall that everyone was completely satisfied with their meals. While I am only in Arizona a couple of weeks per year, I would most definitely come here again. Great Food and Staff We visited on a Saturday evening at about 5:00. We had about a 15 minute wait which is no surprise for a Saturday night. We have been here before and it is one of our favorites for Mexican food. Complimentary chips and salsa are brought to the table right away. Diners have a choice of mild or spicy salsas. Both are very flavorful and the spicy does have a bit of heat. They have a full bar with several reasonably priced beers on tap and diners near us were really enjoying their Cadillac Margaritas being made to order by a very personable bartender. My wife ordered her favorite Garlic Shrimp dinner. 6 large shrimp and vegetables in a tomato butter garlic sauce that is to die for, served with rice, refried beans and warm tortillas on the side. I opted for the Menudo which is typically only available in Mexican restaurants on weekends as it takes a long time to make. I wasn't sure if I've ever had it before so they gladly gave me a sample to try and I liked it. The 'meat' in Menudo is tripe. Tripe is animal stomach lining and is light in flavor and tender having cooked for a long time. The broth is light, red from chilies - not spicy and contains hominy (corn). The menudo is brought to the table in a bowl with a side plate of chopped onion, cilantro, lime wedges and a shaker of oregano. Instead of tortillas, it is accompanied with bolillo, a grill toasted buttered bread with a somewhat crunchy outside and soft inside. The menudo exploded with flavor after I added a few shakes of oregano, squeezed in a couple lime wedges and added all of the onions and cilantro. The bread adds a little tasty textural factor to the meal. Both meals were 5-star and for as busy as the restaurant was, service by the staff is attentive and friendly. read more

Have not been here in a few years, stopped in with friends the other night and the food was was really good. I had the carne asada chimi and it was done to perfection. I come out to Green Valley/Sahuarita every other week for work. I've been looking for a good breakfast burrito in town. This is got to be one of the best breakfast burritos I have ever had. My husband loved the menudo but I did not care for the rice. Rice and beans should taste good but this was not only bland but not completely cooked. Rice should not be crunchy inside. It wasn't raw but on the raw side of cooked. The quac was very good but the supreme nachos looked sad with a sauce that wasn't very good but the carne asada on top was very good. They offer mild or spicy salsa...be sure to choose the spicy because the mild has no spice at all and I can't eat spicy hot salsa. There are good and not so good dishes here so you're just taking a chance. I won't be back but maybe you'll like it. It's clean and the prices are fair while the service is acceptable. read more
