The Carne Asada and Chicharron were tremendous! I've been going around town, trying various Carne Asada, seeing which was the best. And Hermanos has one of the better ones I've had so far. It was juicy, seasoned and a solid cut of beef, meaning it had no grisle and wasn't flat or too small. I placed a to-go order, so I can't comment too much on service, but the restaurant looks nice and I do intend returning for a sit down. I also had the Chicharron and that was very good also. I was really disappointed with my experience here. From the moment we sat down, the table was sticky, and the window sills were covered with dead flies, which immediately made me question the cleanliness of the restaurant. The chips were stale, and the salsa was one of the worst I've had. It was an odd pale grayish-pink color and lacked the fresh flavor you'd expect from a Mexican restaurant. The menu itself was surprising. For a restaurant advertising itself as Mexican, there were very few actual Mexican entrées to choose from. Instead, the menu was filled with things like hamburgers, hot dogs, wings, and seafood boils, which felt very out of place. Our table ordered a variety of different meals, and not a single person was impressed. My chicken was dry, rubbery, and chewy, and I couldn't even finish my meal because it was so unappetizing. We ordered take out for our son's birthday last night. (April,18) Our daughter-law picked it up. When she got home she realized there was an item missing. She returned to the restaurant to pick up the missing item. It was a quesadilla. There was essentially no cheese or filling inside the quesadilla and the outside of the tortilla was burned. Today I decided to eat my taquitos. Most of the outside of the tortilla was burned and the meat (chicken) was burned also. This was a lousy experience. We eat here pretty regularly. I'm not usually one to order "boring" items when I eat out, but I have to say the ground beef corn tacos are so good that I order them every time. Their refried beans are also very tasty. I also appreciate that they serve some American style foods as not everyone in my family loves Mexican food as much as I do. They recently changed their fries and they are sooo good (don't change back). We eat the salsa verde on everything. The service is always friendly and fast. The tables could really use a refinish as the top coat is really sticky now. It can get loud too, but we love the ground beef tacos enough to overlook the rest. read more

After late Saturday afternoon mass my husband wanted to take me to a place his friend from work recommended to him. So we drove down near Rita Ranch to check it out. When we arrived there was probably three cars outside, but by the time we received our food the place was very busy with families and people ordering take out. Our server was very nice and helpful, and the indoor area was very clean inside. I loved all the colors inside and paper picado hanging near the windows. The menu was simple so that made it easy to order from. My shrimp tacos were flavorful, freshly made with melting cheese inside, onions and problano peppers. They came with a side of rice and beans. Both were good. My husband ordered a Torta I think it was Birria. It looked very good with fresh avocado slices, lettuce, red onion, and tomato.He had not had a torta in a really long time and said he enjoyed it. He said his margarita was great too. I had Arnold Palmer. Let's just say it was never ending and I loved that! Highly recommend this taqueria. I am intrigued with the Cajun boil menu. Taqueria 2 Hermanos is a bit unassuming from the outside in the strip mall, however they have an extensive menu selection of Mexican dishes and Louisiana seafood boils. I have not tried the seafood boils here yet, but the Mexican food is what you would expect and it was a creative combination of menu items to have at one restaurant. I tried the birria tacos and original margarita, which were both good. Service was great when I visited. They offer flights of margaritas, but it would be better if they had more flavors to choose from aside from the standard four. Additionally, they offer Happy Hour specials Monday through Friday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. They had a catering truck parked outside as well, so they must use that for private event bookings. I went with the pozole with pan and it came with all the fixings. They definitely didn't scrimp on the pork which I appreciated. From the location, you would never think that Taqueria 2 Hermanos does seafood boil but they do! Not only are they the neighborhood taco place at Rita Ranch but they also have crawfish, shrimp, and other seafood boil for a good deal. The rest of the restaurant menu is pretty tasty too and in fact, this restaurant probably has one of the best pozoles in town. I would've given them a 5-star rating except, every single time the service is just very slow...it's unfortunate cause all of their servers seem really nice but whenever they go in the back they just don't come back for a long time, like one time, we were here for 2+ hours and the water I had didn't get filled that whole time. I've been craving pozole for a while now and had to stop by when I found out they sold it here. Walking in, there's restaurant style seating and also bar seating available. There were TVs for those who wish to catch a game. I had the pozole and enjoyed it. It's a large serving so it does well as a meal in its own. We also ordered the tacos dorados which was super tasty. What a hidden gem! My family and I have been looking for a good place for Mexican food. We didn't know it was literally just down the road! From the outside, it doesn't look like much. But step inside and the space is a lot bigger than we thought! It's very clean and the atmosphere is great--music from Mexico playing the entire time, numerous television sets with various sports, an electric fireplace, and with various seating choices--booths, tables, and high tops. There's also a very nice bar area! Gali was our server and she was very attentive and very kind. She was able to answer our questions about the menu. In terms of the food? Absolutely amazing! The meat was tender and flavorful. The portions were more than enough! The chips and salsa were a great appetizer, as the salsa was homemade and just the right amount of spiciness. At the end of it all, the manager came out to ask how we enjoyed our food. Very friendly and outgoing. I love the vibe here. We'll definitely be coming back more often now that we have finally tried it and are absolutely impressed by our experience and the food. If you haven't come here, you really must!!! read more

Roughly 3 years ago, my daughter & I came to Taqueria 2 Hermanos and had a horrible experience. Usually after such an experience I do not go back, but once in awhile I do. This time I was glad I did. This was a complete transformation from that first experience. As I sat down I was greeted and given some chips and salsa. After looking at the menu, I opted for a Diet Coke & Rancho Tacos - which is birria filled tacos with melted cheese. The salsa has a bit of heat, but not overpowering. The Rancho Tacos came out quickly, but to be fair, there were only a couple of tables being served on an early Monday evening. The Rancho Tacos were very tasty, also very hot - I had to let them cool down a bit so I wouldn't burn my hand. It also came with some rice and beans. These were very good as well. The service was great, she always showed up just when I needed her. It was like she had a second sense. Given that is part of a strip mall/medical plaza, there is plenty of parking. I stopped by for lunch. The restaurant was clean. They serve you tortilla chips and salsa while you wait. The salsa was great! I got the 2-Taco special. It comes with 2 tacos and refried beans and Spanish rice. It came out pretty fast. I really liked the refried beans. The tacos were small, like street tacos, on 4 inch tortillas. In town visiting friends and they recommended we try this spot. It wasn't super busy for a Thursday night, we were immediately greeted and seated. I love how spacious it was in the inside. There is a full service bar that is displaying the latest sports on a jumbo tv and two other tv's. Our waitress was extremely friendly as well as the rest of the staff we interacted with. The menu was very extensive and had a few of my staple dishes on them like the Sopes, Torta, and Jamaica agua Fresca. I ended up getting the Pollo Sopes and Jamaica Agua Fresca. The Sopes were sooo delicious! The chicken was nice and flavorful and juicy as well. The toppings were all very fresh and that thick masa was delicious. It came with 3 Sopes and a side of rice and beans which have to have been some of the best refried beans I've had in a while at a Mexican restaurant. I'm very picky with my refried beans and these were perfect. They had a nice flavoring to them and even had a bit of a spicy kick. The agua Fresca tasted really good, a bit too sweet for me but still nice and fresh. You also get salsa and chips at the table and that salsa was sooo good! It had a bit of a kick to it as well but delicious nonetheless. So glad we stopped by here! Haven't had a decent Mexican meal in a minute. I finally made it back. I was in Tucson to pick up a friend from the hospital. I stopped in last Wednesday around 3:30pm. The lunch rush was over. There were three people in the restaurant. The server was very attentive. As soon as I walked in, she got a tray of chips and salsa ready for me. I walked up to the bar to see what beers were on tap, but then decided to forego alcohol and just have water instead. She followed me to the bar and finally to a table against the northern wall. I ordered a Dos Hermanos Combo with chicken. It came out promptly and was served by one of the Hermanos as the server was busy with another table. The dish was hot and was presented very well. The chicken was well-spiced and the sauce was delicious! I didn't leave any leftovers. Even the chips and salsa was phenomenal. Bravo! I noticed AC outlets above the booths on the walls. Context: New Year's day, wanting Sonoran dogs. No one was open. No restaurant or food truck. Except for this place. Super! I didn't look at the menu. Wish I had. Their Sonoran dogs are $9! More than twice what I'm accustomed to. Sure, they come with fries, but I didn't need the fries. Doesn't come with the grilled yellow pepper. Tasted fine. Not quite as loaded as others, but it was fine. Not sure if it was an Alejandro's bun or not, it was slightly different, but it was good. Service was good. Just took 2 stars off because for 5 dogs it cost me $49 with tax. That's hard to swallow. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Running errands and stopped for lunch. Guess time flew as it was already Happy Hr 2-5PM so took advantage with a Mexican Mule & House Margaritas $4.50 ea. Both very tasty and a tangy rimmed Tajin seasoned Mule served in a festive jug mug. Chips were not warmed but come with a fairly fiery salsa, whew, make sure you have water on hand before you dig in, or order some milk haha! Lizbeth, waitress had alerted us to their Happy Hr and also that it was Taco Tuesday, just $2 for any except seafood or steak. Got al pastor, Chile Verde and Birria on corn and 1 flour. While Verde was salty, the others all needed salt and somewhat blah flavors. Hubby's asada bit gristley, didn't bother me a ton but a noted displeasure for some. Nicely presented with fresh cabbage cilantro onion on all 3, no tomato, cotija or other salsas...it just didn't fix my Mexi hankering waahh. Hubby got the $14.50 Dos Hermanos combo with a cheese birria burrito and carne asada tostada. Large serving of fluffy rice and beans that had medium thick consistency, good and filling, not my fave but finished them nonetheless. Burrito served with nice red enchilada sauce but Meats need more depth of flavor. Ambience of a sports bar come Mexican cerveceria with metal flora sculptures and adobe facades, but a bright naturally lit one with large windows and seating with a giant screen above the bar, smaller ones surround. Seating consists of tables, Booths and elevated bar height tables with bar seats and one-side, booth the other, make it easier to see the big screen above the high large booth dividers. Lizbeth checked on us several times, she was really welcoming, pleasant and also very preggers so TY for your baby bundle hussle ;) and making our first visit a very nice one. Oh and it's chilly in there and 88-deg out, I had to get the car blankie out LOL. There's a $30 shrimp boil, crawfish, crab go up $-$$, that maybe worth trying next time but can't say I'm returning for the Mexican alone, maybe a cerveza for a game as they have 14 drafts incl Barrio Blonde, Dragoon, Mango Cart and Pacifico.
