Esmeralda Restaurant replaced the Lozano's Mexican restaurant in Lehigh Acres with major renovation. The minute you walk in, you realize that the décor is much better. A Well-designed bar is fully stocked and a pool table is available to provide a little relaxation. Went in for an early dinner. We were seated by the Windows booth. A salsa with chip were provided immediately. Their salsa has excellent texture as well a right proportion of ingredients and not watery. We started with a Patria Y Vida - an excellent mix of Rum with Ganadine, Rum with Curacao and Coconut Rum - a perfect trifecta color presentation for a frozen drink! Wife ordered a small portion of Spicy Rice - rice with shrimp, chicken, and beef mixed with Jalapeno with slices of avocado and fried plantains. She asked and tell the chef, "Take it easy with Jalapeno." Well, it was done exactly to her liking. Amazing! One happy lady here! I opted with a Seafood stew or soup (Sopa de Mares). It has crab legs, crayfishes, clams, mussels, shrimps, calamari, and a small filet of fish (which I cannot identified!). It mixed with several vegetables, the flavor from the seafood is unmistakable well balanced here. A few slices of toasted Cuban bread went well. We did not have any dessert. May be on our next visit! Overall, it was an excellent dinner. The waitress was friendly, attentive and checked on us frequently to ensure we have a fine dining experience. I had the Esmeralda ceviche and my wife had the cuban Ropa Vieja and both dishes were outstanding. Our server Karol was attentive yet not overbearing. We love the ambience especially the big Christmas tree right in the entryway and loved smelling the fajitas from neighboring tables. I would definitely come back here and bring my family. read more

Back in May for my birthday my hubby brought me to this gorgeous restaurant. We had the most wonderful experience. The servers were friendly and food appearance was very appealing and it tasted amazing. They had just opened up recently and had their big grand opening. The decor was very beautiful and the establishment was very clean and inviting. We were so very pleased. I was all set to leave a 5 star review when I was informed of an emergency and had to deal with that. I totally forgot about leaving the excellent review back then. My hubby and I came back tonight. We wanted to eat the excellent food, relax and bask in the ambiance. We arrived and it still is beautiful and clean. The host was friendly and seated us. Our server arrived and she promptly asked what we wanted to drink. We ordered their lemony sweet teas. Some time had passed and as I looked around, I noticed that everyone had chips and salsa but we didn't. So I looked around for our server and she must have been back in the kitchen. I couldn't see here. We waited a bit longer and she finally came back with our teas and asked us what we wanted to eat. I thanked her for our teas and I told her that I must have not told her that we wanted chips and salsa. She said ok, He will be bring them out. I said ok. We ordered our food. About 15 minutes had passed and still no chips and salsa. I was looking at everyone's tables snd saw that other people had heaping full bowls of chips. I went up to our server and asked if we could have a bowl of chips and salsa. She said Yes. He's on his way out with them. I said ok and went and sat back down. About 10 minutes total after my second time requesting chips and salsa, another server finally brought us a partially filled bowl of chips and small cup of salsa. We thanked her. My hubby and I were really hungry so we scarfed down our little bowl of chips and little cup of salsa. Our food finally had arrived. My hubby had order chicken tacos (fajita chicken) listed that it came with Lettuce and tomatoes on it. I order 1 carnitas taco with 2 asada tacos (cilantro & onion) on the ones that I ordered. Both of our food came with cup of refried beans and rice. The food looked okay. According to the menu, my tacos only came with cilantro & lime. and only lettuce & tomatoes on the chicken tacos. When our server brought our food, I noticed that the my husband's lettuce & tomatoes but that was left off of this chicken tacos.I asked her if she could bring out some lettuce & tomatoes for his tacos. She said yes. She returns with a nice try of an assortment of toppings which included tray with, cilantro, onion, pico de Gallo , and guacamole. I thanked her and reminded her of the lettuce & tomatoes. My hubby and I put a little bit of everything from the tray on our tacos. Unfortunately, my tacos both carnita and asada didn't taste right. I ate only 1/2 of my refried beans and rice. I ate about 1/2 of my carnita taco and a couple of bites of my asada tacos. I left the majority of my food on my plate. It didn't taste good at all. My hubby was so hungry that he ate all of his chicken tacos but he said that it didn't taste very good. By the way, We never did get the lettuce & tomatoes. How How very disappointing our experience here was, after having an amazingly and awesome experience just 3 months ago. Maybe this was an off night. This one is giving me fits. I got a beef chimychanga, my daughter steak fajitas and her fiancée got steak enchiladas. Parking is great with easy in and out and well lit. The restaurant was spotless with no dust visible anywhere including the air vents which is pretty rare. My chimychanga was good but not crispy for being fried. Her fajitas were tasty but weren't served with enough cheese or tortillas and when asked for more they still didn't serve enough cheese and one of the tortillas was ripped and they charged for them. Very very tasty and fresh. Extremely clean inside with friendly staff. Absolutely loved the shrimp fajitas. Nice juicy large shrimp and homemade tortillas. All the sides were delish as well. I skipped some questions of the Covid compliance, because they make no sense. FL has no enforceable mask mandate. The service staff was wearing masks, the guests not. 100% occupancy operational. We witnessed the staff cleaning the silverware with gloves on and sanitizer being used. The interior design is very nice and for Lehigh a bit upscale. A real refreshing place. A full service bar and a pool table are available, some tvs around the rooms near the ceilings. All silenced and no aggressive or annoying sound. You can focus on the food, which is served nicely and is also well tasting. The service staff is very friendly, we got some laughs with some very friendly twins, Shary and Karol, who caused a nice confusion and some laughs. We didn't eat much, just some appetizers and enjoyed some good tasting Margaritas. We had a good time and stayed longer than intended. read more

I think the inside and design of this restaurant is so nice, honestly one of the best looking restaurants in all of Lehigh. Down to the waitresses uniforms, it just really brings the whole experience together. The papas locas appetizer was sooo yummy. The churrasco steak lacked flavor and individuality, it was subpar. We live in Lehigh so we decided to patronize locally. We knew Esmeralda was a grand opening so we were hopeful of having a pleasant experience. Talk about exceeding that expectation! Live music present but not overwhelming... pleasant decor... wait staff was attentive too. Especially when I asked about their "spicy rice" which is exclusive to a certain dish I was not ordering, they allowed me to make a purchase for a small upcharge and it was well worth it. The worst service I have ever had in a restaurant. I arrived at 8:26pm ordered my food at 8:42pm and dinner get my dinner until 9:45 pm. It took forever to be served and when we complained they said they had 1 large party that they were serving before us. Such a large restaurant and they were unable to serve us because they had 1 large party of 8. Apparently the kitchen is small and can't handle more than 1 large party at the same time.
