The food in El patron ever since the new owner stepped in has been top notch, i come every week to try their delicious dishes. I ordered the ACP with an horchata and it was so good i recommend it. The service was amazing, My server Susana was very sweet, respectful and friendly, well that goes to the whole staff at El patron, specially the owner, he makes me have a great time here and never fails to leave me without a smile in my face. The ambiance was great and the bar is eye catching. The restaurant is very clean, and the workers move fast to clean the tables. overall the best Mexican restaurant i've ever tried and would recommend, although when it's busy the food takes awhile to get to us but great things always take time. read more

We eat here occasionally when we aren't looking for new, and they've never disappointed us. I ordered the ACP and every other Mexican place has way better food, this place is only out of convenience. Not enough queso compared to other restaurants, potion sizes are smaller, food tastes like fast food quality, and the staff took 10 minutes to just let me pay for my pickup order. Every time I order ACP from a Mexican restaurant there is more than enough food to feed me (6ft male 160bls) this place never gives me enough food with my small stomach. Their prices are the same but the potion sizes are smaller compared to any other Mexican restaurant in the area. I will NEVER order from this place again. Wow! Blown away by how good the food and margaritas were. It's an unassuming strip mall, but clearly location has nothing to do with the quality of service and food. Our party of 4 was seated right away and service was friendly and prompt. We kept commenting on how good the chips and salsa were. That was until we had the street corn appetizer. OMG it was amazing. Crack on a chip. We demolished the hearty plate of corn between the four of us...we may have had to ask the waitstaff for additional chips four times just so we could keep eating it. Everyone seemed to enjoy their entree. I had the shrimp tacos and they were perfect. Fresh and tasty. Their chicken chimichangas are very good (beef was way overseasoned and wouldnt recommend imo). Also their chicken burrito with mushrooms was very good (i cant remember but it had a name like burrito acapolco or something like that sorry i forgot will try to update when im in next time). Fajitas were nothing impressive but my bar is high after living in american SW. Lunchtime specials make it a worthwhile venture for value if ur in the area. Believe it or not, but my favorite thing about El Patrón is the beans. If you have not had them, you are missing out. Other than that, the margaritas are amazing! My favorite meal (before I went pescetarian) was pollo con crema (a creamy chicken meal) and the menu is expansive enough to find something you like, even if you are a picky eater. The service is also really good here! They are always really nice and attentive. They also do a good job making exceptions to drinks and/or meals. For example, I ordered a frozen raspberry margarita but wanted a spicy hint, so I asked if they would be able to rim it with tajín and they not only said yes, but they thought it was a great idea! Aside from the great food and friendly service, the decor is so festive and relaxing. My mom and I came here one day after I had had a particularly stressful day, and the decor was enough to help me feel like was far away, on a vacation and ready to shed the day. read more

We were feeling for some Mexican food this past Saturday night. We called our usual place and they had a ridiculous wait. Since we were in no mood to wait, I took to the Yelp and started looking. I came across this gem and called. To my surprise, they wasn't a wait! We hoped in the car and away we went! When we got there, the parking lot was pretty full and we got a little worried that there was now a wait (took us about 20 minutes to get there). When we walked it, we saw perfectly socially distanced tables. Again, surprise, no wait even though from what we saw were full tables. Our super nice restaurant staff took us to out table. My husband ordered a Margarita because I mean the best ones are generally at Mexican restaurants. He said that was just as good as he makes at home! He was in Heaven. We ordered some queso to start. For meals, I had the Fajita Taco salad (something about that shell for me) and he had the Texas Quesadilla. Both were amazing. Full of flavor. Our staff member (I'm not a fan of them being waitress or waiters), made sure my Sprite had my requested 2 lemons. She was a total Rockstar for that. At the end, we got the check and was pleasantly surprised at the cost. Not bad at all! For a place so close to my house I'm so mad I do not come here more often. Had a fun daughter mom night and got margs split the chorizo queso and then each got our own meal. Got the quesadilla Fajita style and it was delicious and just as good heated up in the oven the next day. Inside the restaurant it's a fun atmosphere and even super kid friendly. I was recommended to stop here by a friend of mine. It was lunch time so my mom and I decided to order off the lunch menu. We were shocked at how large of portions the lunch fajita was. We did ask for some to go containers since it was so much food. The tortilla chips for fresh and the salsa was so authentic. The ambiance was so beautiful with the great traditional music at one point my mom was dancing in her seat. I couldn't recommend this place enough, the best around for sure. read more

I decided to go to El Patrón since I haven't been there in awhile and when we walked in everything was new and very clean. New tables and chairs, and patio repainted. The new management is doing a fantastic job remodeling and taking care of one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. I will definitely be back. Seriously a terrible meal! We ordered through DoorDash and that experience was fine. The complaints are the food only. The prices were high for incredibly small portions. The fajitas were tasteless...not even salted. The enchiladas were the only edible item and they were just fine, nothing special. And there was a hair in our queso. I had just finished telling my husband you can't really be disappointed in Mexican food because it's all pretty much the same, as he wanted to drive across town to his favorite place and I just wanted delivery. After going here 5 years, and seeing the management/ownership change, the menu has been shortened, prices raised and not one person from months ago or years still work there. I went during lunch on Tuesday. They had 1 waiter taking care of all the tables/booths. Maybe there were 6 tables that had customers. After ordering, our food came out, and that was the last we saw of our waiter. It's as though he purposely didn't make eye contact while passing to avoid being asked something. I had to literally hang out of the booth to get his attention. Service was REALLY POOR! Food.....used to have flavor and spice - today, bland. Seriously it was like eating at a hospital. Been here a handful of times & it's always been good. The pitcher of margarita was a little too thick so we had to wait a bit to drink it & they brought over a side of queso we didn't order - funny as we planned to but forgot - then thought it was a bit odd they charged us for something they brought in error but suppose all's well that ends well. Food was very good, service could have been a little better - we had to go up to the cashier & ask for our check. My family used to go to El Patron instead of other mexican restaurants, but not anymore. They really have gone down. A couple of weeks ago we ordered to go. The chips and chicken quesadillas were so salty it couldn't be eaten. They also forgot my two cheese only quesadilla so my husband had to go back then they said we didn't order it when we did. they charged us twice! Today we went and not only had slow service, but my dad's flan was burnt and they didn't give us the correct change back when we paid. The food was amazing. They have a flavorful salsa and cheese dip (with warm chips). I got the Tony Cheesesteak. Although the actual meat portion was small it comes with a side of rice or beans. I got refried beans and they are better than some of the refried beans at other local Mexican joints. My husband to the fajita burrito. It was huge and very good. I saw a roach as I was leaving the bar and taking my food with me. Spent over 40 bucks on the tacos de carne asada, a side of guac and a tamale. The above included 2 margaritas. After I crushed the roach and showed two different employees, one took the napkin with the roach apologized and walked away...never returned.
