1-Star Review (only because I have to leave something) THE WORST MEXICAN RESTAURANT IN NORTHEAST OHIO Liz- was our waiter and she is completely disgusting and needs Customer Service training. The manager has no compassion for customers, and will lie to you with no regard. I rarely ever leave reviews, but my experience at Plaza Nueve in Brooklyn, OH was so terrible that I feel obligated to warn others! My family and I went there to celebrate my wife's birthday, and from the moment we sat down, everything went downhill. The waiter had a nasty attitude! She was very dismissive and trying to rush us to order. The food was absolutely unacceptable--the beans were undercooked, the cheese on my enchiladas was a thick, unpleasant mess, and the overall meal was so bad that I didn't eat but a bite off my plate. That alone was disappointing, especially on a special occasion. But the service? That's what pushed this experience from bad to unbelievable. When I politely mentioned that the food wasn't right, Liz responded--and I quote--"You can't make everybody happy." unquote. I couldn't believe the disrespect, especially when my family was simply trying to enjoy a birthday dinner. Her attitude felt dismissive, unprofessional, and completely out of line. To make matters worse, the restaurant itself was not clean. The tables, the floors--everything felt neglected, which only added to the frustration. I called the manager afterward hoping for a resolution, but that was another disappointment. He said he would call me back, but never did. When I called back the next day, I was basically told nothing would be done. Zero accountability, zero concern. We paid over $150 plus gratuity fees for food uncooked and customer service that made the entire night uncomfortable for my family. Me, my family, coworkers, and neighbors will not be patronizing this establishment anymore; and I was strongly advise you and yours to do the same! Our rude waiter Liz; needs to find another profession because Customer Service is not her expertise at all. She doesn't even understand the basis that the customers come first. Ohhhh, I really enjoyed my experience here. I came in alone and decided to sit at the bar. The servers were super friendly, the food was delicious, and the drink was strong. All great things! I ordered the three meat fajitas (I can't remember what the name is on the menu) with steak, chicken, and shrimp. It came out very fast and was absolutely perfect. Everything was perfectly flavored and the meal was a lot of food. For a cocktail, fajitas, and side of queso, I paid around $45 but ended up having enough leftovers for another meal. Stopped by Plaza Nueva with my family on our weekly restaurant visit. We were immediately seated and our drink orders were promptly taken. I requested a Modelo Negro. My wife always requests caso blanco, which goes good with nachos. For dinner, I ordered Pollo Azteca, which is a char broiled chicken breast, sautéed shrimp, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, and a special cream sauce. The food took longer than most Mexican restaurants to deliver, but there were six of us after all. My Pollo Azteca was excellent. I love dishes like these. It's like a burrito, but you get more of the good stuff and no tortilla. It is served with warm flour tortillas wrapped in foil, but I don't use them anymore. I only mention that because some people associate their experience with the previous ownership/name with this place. That is not the case. This place is amazing. We came here a couple weeks ago for the first time with family. It was very spacious inside and decorated nicely. Someone greeted us right away. Once we ordered we never saw our server again till we asked for our check from someone else. The tables are too small. There were four of us and when our food came, we had no room for all the plates. There was a problem with my parents order and my order was delivered cold. My parents ordered chicken fajitas and got chicken, steak and shrimp on the plate that was not sizzling. This has become our go-to Mexican restaurant in the Cleveland area, even though there are others that are much closer to our home. First of all, the staff here is wonderful. We often come with a toddler, and they all take the time to make him smile or laugh, he loves it there. The food is delicious. We have yet to have anything sub-par. And, if you show up enough, you'll occasionally find a complimentary appetizer on your table as a show of appreciation. Drinks are also delicious, as they make a really nice margarita. Our absolute favorite dishes here are (in no particular order): a 'Fajita Burrito', the 'Lime Chicken', the 'Pollo Primavera', the 'Pollo Jalapeno', the #2 (3 chicken enchiladas) on the Combination dishes ... and their 'Chicken Fajitas' ... ooohhhhh they are good. So many fajitas (at other Mexican restaurants) come to the table where the pieces of meat are all curled up, and many times are bland. Plaza Nueva's chicken fajitas come in nice grilled strips and seasoned perfectly). SO GOOD! On the Appetizer menu we love the 'Taquitos' and the 'Jalapeno Botanas', and the wife loves the 'Chimi Cheesecake' and 'Flan' for dessert. Due to the lack of customer service, and making me pick up the tab of them giving out free chips I marked them down two stars. I've been to this restaurant twice and have had great meals both times. They have a very large menu with a variety of appetizers, entrees and salads. They have daily lunch specials and a happy hour. The food is very good and the chips and salsa are better than standard because the chips are warmed up. I've had a couple of their salads and enchiladas. Portions are very generous. Overall, the food quality is good but sometimes just a little salty. They have a full bar and the margaritas are delicious. From the outside you wouldn't necessarily expect a restaurant in a strip mall to serve such good food, but they are a great surprise. The staff are always friendly and ready to assist you. The salsa was tasty but the chips were flavorless and appeared to be stale. The food, I ordered, fajita nachos, were soggy and bland. My friend's enchiladas were ok but lacking flavor. Our waitress had an attitude from the beginning. When the rest of our party arrived they wanted them to sit in a different section. When we asked to speak to the manager we were ignored. The staff avoided us until the late arriving group went to the other section in hopes of getting served. I'm not sure what the issue was besides that they were closing down our area, 90 minutes before close.
