Food is amazing. My favorite is the Geckos pasta with the tortilla side soup. And their café de olla is really good too. Been coming here for years and the service is always 10/10.

If your in South El Monte area this place is legit we had been coming here for years but then stopped for whatever reason started to come back and this place does not skip a beat the food is still amazing....one of my favorite places for Cafe De Olla and their Tortas and the bfast Chilaquiles and don't get me started on the French Toast one word WOW a must try for sure plus it's family owner and they are so pleasant and always cheerful and very welcoming too a must visit

    Large pazole

I come here regularly and I noticed a big difference in service today. There was a different cook and waitress today. My husband and I were not greeted and told to sit wherever we want. We both got large pazoles and that took about 40 minutes. We heard the customers sitting behind us mention how long their food was taking and upset that they didn't have pancakes. The pazole was still good and I hope to keep coming here.

I tried Ajos y Cebollas years ago when they first opened. So I stoped by today because I was craving a caffe de Olla. They did not disappoint. The coffee was authentic served with carmelized melted sugar (piloncillo). I ordered the machaca plate that came with refried bean and Mexican style potato's Como Tia made it. I started with a bowel of Fedeo soup. Like my Tia Carmen's. I also tried there capeotada. The capeotada was fancier than my Tia Carmela's. It was very good. Drizzled with chocolate and strawberry and peanuts and Carmel. Not too rich. I also tried there rice. The rice was very flaky and had good flavor. plan to return. It's worth the try. The only thing that was a negative would be the meal portion was a bit small for the price. You may not think so if you eat small portions.

I've come to Dine twice and they were not open with the hours that were posted. It would be nice if ours were more up-to-date.

Our food arrived shortly. Decent portions. My husband ordered and forgot to order the red sauce for my chilaquiles. It was good but I prefer the green sauce. The server said it was hotter (spicier) than the red sauce so it might've been best that I got the red sauce instead. Hubby said his Machaca was average & he had better. All in all, it hit the spot to kill the hunger & I took the rest of the menudo home. The experience was average yet I find myself thinking that we would've been better off at Macho Cafe which was closer to us from home. The reception there was warmer.

Aside from that the Breakfast burrito with Chorizo was good. The Rice and beans were good... I got the Chilaquiles but if I were to ever go back (which more than likely will not be happening) I would order the burrito again. The steak was chewy (that remark is from my 10 year old granddaughter who ordered it). Plenty of parking in the lot adjacent and seating outside on a hot day would probably be nice in their breezeway that looks like a garage. Respectfully Reviewed.

This was one of the places that popped up and upon reading the reviews it seemed like everyone had amazing things to say about a lot of of their different plates, so we decided to come and give it a try. Me myself, got shrimp ceviche and I also got a shrimp taco. Both were amazing. This ceviche was very different than the typical ceviche I've had but it was honestly one of the best I've had. The shrimp taco was also so good. It had a homemade tortilla topped with cheese, shrimp, and veggies. So good! My husband ordered menudo. He said it was one of the best ones he's had in a minute! The owners of the place seemed very friendly as well. We talked to them for a little bit, and you can tell that they put love into the dishes. The restaurant is on the smaller side with maybe about five or six tables, but I did see a couple of people walking in for to go orders so that's also an option. Overall, I will definitely be frequenting this place a lot more.
