Waited in line 2 hours before we could enter. Sharp Seating sold too many tickets to accommodate. Volunteers at the venue were apologetic. I felt bad for them. Sharp spoiled the experience. So you only get a side view of the floats/bands, etc. This was not disclosed when I purchased the tickets. We were in the back row corner and everyone in this section had the tree in their way and blocking the view of the coming attractions until it was right in front of you. This was at 1540 E. Colorado Section: 1540 Aisle 3 Row: F Seat: 101 and 102. DO NOT BUY A TICKET ANYWHERE NEAR THIS ONE. Prices are cheaper at 25 dollars online and can easily spend an hour or two here. They blast festive music that really created a nice atmosphere. For the price I'd actually say this was worth the time and price to grab some good pictures. You can take pictures with Santa Claus for $20 for three minutes of unlimited photos. Not really worth it but kinda thought it was funny haha. Parking is easily findable using the Irwindale Speedway address and everything was pretty straight forward. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was here in this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is massive since this movie theater is located inside a shopping center. Some parking spots are smaller than others so be mindful where you park. Establishment: The establishment itself is very clean, neat, tidy, and massive. This theater is pretty big. I think it has like 16 massive big screens in total. The bathrooms are cleaned every hour or so. The bar is small, but nice. The concessions stand is pretty well stocked with lots of yummy snacks for movie goers. CONS: - It was madness all day! - Long lines to get in and get food - Venue was a bit small - Only a 6 hour event :( - Wished there were more trash cans 10:30 am: We got to the end of the line that wrapped around Beaudry & 6th! O_O While waiting to get in, we met some really friendly foodie people! 11:30 am: The flood gates were finally open!!! And we finally got inside!! :D $5 general admissions. The only gross part of the event was this kid near the Qzilla line puked on the grass in front of everyone!!! It was gross!!!!!! And the kid just walked away! So if you stepped onto any parts of the grass last Saturday, I'd recommend that you sanitize your shoes VERY well. Overall, I had a good time at this festival! During COVID-19, our family has enjoyed several trips to this monthly pop-up drive in movie venue,…read morehosted by the City of El Monte Parks & Recreation Department. For only $5 per car, the whole family can enjoy a different film each month. Movie sound is broadcast over FM Frequency in your car, and films are shown on a huge inflatable screen. For Halloween, we're watching Nightmare Before Christmas. With plenty of support from local law enforcement and city traffic control, Rec Department employees dress up in costumes from the movie, take socially distanced photos with the kids, and circulate around spreading good cheer (and tonight, glow sticks!) The event also highlights local restaurants on Main, who deliver right to your vehicle when you phone order. Each car receives a goodie bag of toys and treats, and a $5 off voucher for local food delivery. You can also bring your own dinner of course, but it's nice supporting local businesses. Tickets are available on the El Monte Parks & Rec website, and because the event sells out, you pretty much need to buy in advance. Kudos to El Monte for hosting local families and supporting local businesses.

This year we got the usual great lineup but instead of the DIY style show in a parking lot, Professor Vic moved it to the Cathedral. Located right off Garey, The Cathedral is tough to miss. There's plenty of street parking on Center St and there's also a small parking lot across the street. This used to be a YMCA but it looks like an old church with dark wood flooring, high ceilings and stained glass windows. A very cool venue. How did it sound? Loud. Extremely loud. They also had a huge video board which gave each band a little extra hot sauce. There were a couple of bars in the back and you could also order food. It's air conditioned in there but between the heat (100+ outside at the time) and the amount of bodies inside, it was at least bearable. Mosh for Youth was great as always and while I loved the DIY ethos in the past this felt like a leap forward. The sound, look and venue made this feel big time. I hope future MFY shows take place here...until they maybe outgrow this place too, which would mean more scholarships for the kids. Highly recommended!
