Little did I know I was going to be seated under a massive pine tree with the only view straight ahead and no way to see the floats or parade coming until it was directly in front of our seats. We were in the back row corner and everyone in this section had the tree in their way and blocking the view of the coming attractions until it was right in front of you. This was at 1540 E. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was here in this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is massive since this movie theater is located inside a shopping center. Some parking spots are smaller than others so be mindful where you park. Establishment: The establishment itself is very clean, neat, tidy, and massive. This theater is pretty big. I think it has like 16 massive big screens in total. The bathrooms are cleaned every hour or so. The bar is small, but nice. The concessions stand is pretty well stocked with lots of yummy snacks for movie goers. Staff: The staff here are very friendly and helpful. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum.

Thanks Dawson for a fun event! - Awesome foodie folks! - Great weather (I even got sunburned)! Love LA weather! - Drinks: new belgium beer, pomegranate liqueur, honest tea, izze, red leaf water (sponsored= free water) - Yay for blue recycling cans! Go green!! CONS: - It was madness all day! - Long lines to get in and get food - Venue was a bit small - Only a 6 hour event :( - Wished there were more trash cans 10:30 am: We got to the end of the line that wrapped around Beaudry & 6th! O_O While waiting to get in, we met some really friendly foodie people! 11:30 am: The flood gates were finally open!!! And we finally got inside!! :D $5 general admissions. We ended up staying the whole 7 hours there, but sadly only got to 6 food trucks. :( - Fresser: pastrami Sandwich ($5), pot roast sampler ($2) - Get Shaved: passionut ($2.50) - Grilled Cheese Truck: harvest melt ($3) - Qzillabbq: combo ($5) - Coolhaus: ice cream sandwiches ($3) - Oh Snap! photo booth ($5) - Dogzilla: mini hot dog sampler ($2) 5:00 pm: What? It's already 5pm? :( Aw time to go home! Can't wait for the next food fest!!! ------------------------------ Happy Valentine's Day foodie people and yelp fans everywhere!! Huge thanks to Dawson and Sonja for organizing this amazing event, thanks to all the food trucks for their hard work of keeping our tummies full and happy, and thanks to all the security and cleaning people for keeping the event tame and clean! Hearing about the event over a month ago, I knew this was going to be CRAZY. I was already expecting LOTS of people and long lines and possibly sold out food. I was just excited and happy to be able to flying into LA this weekend and attend!!! I ran into one of my bay area yelp friends, Bobby L. and his cousins!!! hihi! :D I also met so many wonderful foodie folks! It's always great to talk to people about what we love most, food! At first I was a bit sad that I wasn't able to get VIP tickets, but in the end, I was perfectly happy with just general admissions. The only gross part of the event was this kid near the Qzilla line puked on the grass in front of everyone!!! It was gross!!!!!! And the kid just walked away! Soooo... everyone that was walking through the grass after also stepped into the kid's puke. blehhhhhhhh. So gross!! Ew Ew Ew! So if you stepped onto any parts of the grass last Saturday, I'd recommend that you sanitize your shoes VERY well. Overall, I had a good time at this festival! Next year, I may want to get VIP tickets, bring more sun gear (sunscreen, hat, sunglasses), a food tray to hold all my little plates of food, hand sanitizer, etc.!

This year we got the usual great lineup but instead of the DIY style show in a parking lot, Professor Vic moved it to the Cathedral. Located right off Garey, The Cathedral is tough to miss. There's plenty of street parking on Center St and there's also a small parking lot across the street. This used to be a YMCA but it looks like an old church with dark wood flooring, high ceilings and stained glass windows. A very cool venue. How did it sound? Loud. Extremely loud. They also had a huge video board which gave each band a little extra hot sauce. There were a couple of bars in the back and you could also order food. It's air conditioned in there but between the heat (100+ outside at the time) and the amount of bodies inside, it was at least bearable. Mosh for Youth was great as always and while I loved the DIY ethos in the past this felt like a leap forward. The sound, look and venue made this feel big time. I hope future MFY shows take place here...until they maybe outgrow this place too, which would mean more scholarships for the kids. Highly recommended!
