I've tried alot of these burger joints around the area but nothing beats Bill's Drive In. Me and my friends would order Bill's every Monday and Tuesday for lunch. We get our usual, double cheese burgers with fries. It hits every time and the price isn't too crazy. After moving away and eating at mediocre burger spots, I came back and ordered the usual. The burgers still taste amazing and the fries are always well seasoned and have the perfect consistency of crunchy fries and soft fries, just how I like em. The morning cook is always so nice to me and flashes me a big smile everytime I visit. Definitely a spot to try if you're craving burgers and fries. read more

First time, for a "Drive up" on the border of El Monte in Baldwin Park, great customer service. Very welcoming, also, impressed with the other menu items, Pastrami, Fish plate., etc, just don't forget cash only. Prices are very reasonable. Fries are majorly under-seasoned. Also taste like it's been sitting for a while and then refried. Very crispy but not creamy at all, if you're into that texture. Burger is pretty solid. This place is a landmark in El Monte. I remember when I was in middle school walking to Bill's after school with my friends to grab some burgers. Today when I got off work I was pretty hungry, but I was craving a burger so I decided to stop by and grab something to eat to take home. It had been a while since I ate at Bill's so I decided to stop and grab me something. The burgers here are really good there's no doubt about that. I do feel like they are a little pricey though. They also serve breakfast I notice lots of people go there for their breakfast. I have never tried it, but it must be good. I ordered a double cheeseburger meal with extra cheese, and a side of onion rings and that came out to $20. They also charge you $.50 per ranch if you ask for one. I asked for two and the lady charged me $1.20 I'm guessing the $.20 was for tax. Everything tasted delicious. The fries we're perfectly done. They had a nice crunch on them and the onion rings had a great batter on them. They were well seasoned. They also accept phone orders in case you're in a hurry. they also have indoor and outdoor seating. But most importantly, don't forget that they only accept cash, no credit cards. read more

This spot is a staple in Monte. Every city has their burger joint and I feel like this is the place here. It's been here for as long as I can remember and the chefs been at it for the time running. It's cash only but they have an atm outside. You can sit inside or outside. It's a little pricey but what isn't these days. The ONLY thing that gets me is it says it opens at 7am but that NEVER happens. The service is great once they're open though. read more

Came at 12:03 on a Sunday afternoon to order breakfast and the lady cashier rudely emphasized they don't serve breakfast after 12 noon although I had been standing outside for a few minutes trying to decide what to order. I took a step back and looked behind me and this place was empty. I asked if they were that busy that they can't put together 2 scrambled eggs and she was rude and replied NO! So I just left. Today was my first time here and it was all around a really positive experience. They took our order quickly & correctly. The food was delicious - perfect pastrami. Great fries. Good soda even. This place just opened not too long ago. It's called "Bill's Drive In" but when you look at the menu, they have Mexican food on it as well. As the name implies, this is a drive-in, no drive-thru. The parking lot is pretty small so if it gets busy, there is street parking. Indoor seating is available and you can order indoors as well. Outdoor seating is limited. The employees are friendly and do understand English. This place is cheaper than the other joints found in the area; ~$1-$2 difference. I ordered the Carne Asada Plate, which came out to less than $6.00. There were no lines during lunch hours so my order finished in about five minutes. The carne asada meat was nice and tender. It wasn't salty as a lot of other places. The food was piping hot when I received it. The order comes with tortillas (flour or corn), but they're the small taco sized ones; I think I made seven tacos out of them. Rice and beans were good and a very small side of pico de gallo came with the order. Overall, not bad. I'll come back and try the other stuff. The service here is awesome! The owner/chef and woman that cashiers are extremely nice. I don't frequent too much and they remember who I am. That says a lot. The prices are also super affordable. Here's a tip next time you visit. If you order from the outside window, peek in and watch the chef make your order. He's so organized, clean, and professional. He's got one hand grilling and one hand cleaning his food area. Makes the food taste that much better from what it already is. The burgers are so good. Who knew that i could find the Besst Huevos Rancheros i've ever eaten in a Burger Joint?! It blew me away, it was that good. It was a rainy morning. Nose running and feeling cold & hungry. Decided to go to the only place open at 7:45am. The eggs were cooked to perfection. It burst w yolk when you hit the middle. The corn tortilla on the bottom stayed crunchy until the last bite. The beans tasted amazing. The hash browns paired so well with their red salsa. The ranchero sauce was made w real ingedients not from a can.
