I wish I had room to try a dessert - well maybe next time. The setting had a great Mexican vibe from the decor, the music, and of course, Fútbol on the monitors (yay!); it's was pre-season for Men's and of course, the Women's World Cup - how could they not have it on? Being from California, I'm used to molcajetes having things like cactus, different hot sauces, jalapeños, and a lot more variety and flavor. Salsa verde means green sauce, and this was definitely not a green sauce--it was red. They do use tomatillos, which may be why they consider it "verde," but that's not what I would expect when ordering carnitas en salsa verde or chile verde. I was specifically expecting the traditional green chile-based sauce. Overall, neither dish was what I expected, and unfortunately, I wouldn't order either one again.

Then I got the cheese enchilada w/ beef tips. The enchiladas were filled with american cheese and enchilada sauce from a can and the "beef tips" were just small pieces of beef cut up. We should have walked out after the rotten tomato.
