Went to this location for the first time a few days ago. The younger Hispanic kid working the drive thru wasn't the friendliest to start with. We ordered 4 BRC burritos to go. We waited a long time at the window, and they weren't busy, so we were excited thinking it's taking longer because the food's gonna be hot and fresh. Wrong! Please go look at the pictures of how horrible the burritos were that we were given. They were poorly wrapped, and there was hardly any filling inside. We paid for tortillas, and a scoop of beans and rice. We didn't open the bag until we were about 10 miles out, so we didn't want to turn around. It really bums me out that I am writing this review. I have been ordering the chicken tostada salad through DoorDash from the Lake Havasu location for at least a year.They continue to forget the cilantro dressing, and most times they also forget the salsa. Usually I let it slide - but it has been one time too many. Am I supposed to eat a dry salad? That's the other part - no redeliveries at this store. So even if they get your order wrong, they won't fix it. Doordash gave me a refund - but honestly, I would have rather had the dressing and salsa (aka the correct order). Everything I order is clearly marked on the order ticket and receipt. So, it is not the DoorDash driver's fault. This is a problem at this specific location. I don't know what's happening at this Lake Havasu location, but I can't order food from there anymore. I will miss my favorite lunch meal, but there are other food establihments in this town - so I will find a new favorite lunch place. read more

I went in to order, not 1 person in the restaurant, 1 car in drive thru 11:30am 3/29/2026. Stood at the counter watching the guy putting together an order for 5 minutes. He was 5 feet from me. He never acknowledged me. I finally I got his attention by throwing my arms to my side and saying what's up. He kind of muttered and pointed to a girl hanging out at the drive thru window. Saw quite a few negative reviews for this place. Bringing the average down. Went here twice during my stay though, and have to say that I did not have the same experience. For a slightly better fast food type of place, keeping those standards in mind, I would give this a slightly above average round up to 4 stars. The staff wasn't super friendly or inviting, but other than that no complaints. Both times my orders were accurate, and the portions seemed pretty standard as well. The chicken was definitely the highlight of the meal so highly recommend that over any of the other salads or sides they offer and just focus on the chicken! read more

The chicken was dry and miniature. Based on the number of pieces it would take to get full, the meal was very costly. The sides were not tasty. The salad had a very small amount of dressing. The mashed potatoes were inedible. Just a strange taste. The men's room toilet did not flush. So it was disgusting. The drink machine in the dining room was not working and the counter help was slow in providing refills of the drinks. I got the impression they were all about the drive thru customers. Staff never greeted us or saying we will be with you soon they looked away we stood there until at least 10 in line finally a guy took our order I told him crazy we had to wait this long he said they were busy. One car in drive up he was doing more prep work not cashier I asked to see a manager as a young age Hispanic male came up and said what do you need I need a manager he said I am with a attitude I said this is crap I want to speak to a senior manager a female Hispanic came up again not addressing who she was when greeted I explained we all have waited for over 10 min to place an order. Stopped by with family to pick up a quick and easy bite. This was my first time here but they had been here before. I got all dark meat with rice, beans and Mac and cheese. The chicken was flavorful and moist. The sides were okay. I didn't really care for the beans because they didn't have much flavorful. Overall I'd definitely go back for the chicken. read more

Haven't been to an El Pollo Loco in a few years, and I really missed it. Definitely sign up for their mobile app on your phone since they offer good deals. The food here was really fresh. I love that the burrito had a lightly crispy tortilla. That added a nice texture. The guacamole was cold, fresh and had chunks of Avocado. Tried the spicy Avocado salsa and the fiery one as well. They were really spicy. My husband eats Serrano peppers with dinner, and the fiery salsa was packing a punch. I will try the Pico de Gallo next time. The slowest service I've ever had. Ordered a tostada bowl and a 2 piece and it's going on a 20 minute wait. Plenty of staff just laughing and goofing off. No one actually making the orders. I am a big fan of El Pollo Loco's food, I really enjoy it. I have lived all over the West, and have enjoyed El Pollo Loco everywhere I have been, until moving to Lake Havasu. This is the single worst run business bar none, It is almost incomprehensible how bad the employees perform and how little they care. It is made clear that getting an order correct is of no priority, and your business means nothing to them. I have ordered from this location many, many times, and it is not hyperbole to state that they literally NEVER get the order correct, and they do not care. If your order is mostly accurate, I consider it a win, and be prepared to spend money for a substantial portion of the order that you will not receive, and then be met with arrogance, ignorance, and a bad attitude if you try to get the order correct. When I first moved to town, they got my order incorrect three times in a row. I complained to the GM of the location, and she brought me free food as an apology. I appreciated the gesture, but did not go back for a time because the hassle of constantly missing multiple items in every order was just a pain. Recently, I missed the food and gave it another try. My first order I placed on the app and picked it up at the drive-through, and it was missing items when I got home. The next time, I pulled over and checked the sealed bag in the parking lot before leaving, and identified 3 missing items. I went through the line again and was met with a snarl and a free churro. When I got home and opened up the Shredded Chicken Nachos, we discovered it had no chicken, no guac, it was missing 2/3 of the ingredients, it was chips and queso for $15.00. When I called to alert them, all the woman had to say in an annoyed, unpleasant fashion was "Really"? Our last attempt was missing an entire order of chips and guacamole, as well as a bottle of water that was ordered. We also received a taco with no chicken in it, essentially just onions and cilantro in a tortilla. When I called and said the items were missing, the woman just said "OK". I asked for a refund for the missing items, and they took my number and promised a call back in 10 minutes, which has still not happened to this day. There is a large woman who gets the orders wrong 100% of the time and seems to be perpetually angry and annoyed at being there. I miss the food, but I will NEVER go to this location again. They have made it clear they do not have the ability or inclination to read a short list and put those items in a bag, and couldn't care less. or read more

I ordered the Double Chicken tostada last week and it was great. It was a tasty meal with lots of lettuce, chicken rice and beans. This week, I brought a friend to try it and we can't find the lettuce, rice or beans. There is HALF of the amount of chicken as last week. Instead of a tostada, I am looking at a teaspoon of beans, a tablespoon of rice and FIVE, yes FIVE small pieces of lettuce. The ONLY positive is that my friend gave me her avocado slices. Ordered food at the drive-through. Got up to the window and was told that they have no chicken breast. Seems to be a common occurrence at this place and it is very frustrating. If you're not gonna keep your chicken breast stock then take it off the menu. When they do have it in stock, it seems to be remnants and gross. My wife and I ate at your restaurant last night and it was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. The Coke machine was empty. The Horchata machine was empty. Half of the salsa containers were empty. I got my order and it was supposed to be a drumstick and a thigh, well it turned out to be a drumstick and a back. Not what I ordered! We used to eat El Pollo Loco For years until they closed down. We loved the food. After learning they had one in Lake Havasu again, We were excited to get some BRC burritos. The burritos were half the size we were used to. Mostly tortilla, some rice, and literally like 3 beans in each burrito. Couldn't see or taste any cheese at all. The worst part is the Havasu store charged $4.69 for each burrito which was smaller than a Taco bell bean and cheese burrito. When doing some research, this store charges twice as much as other locations around the country. YOU NEVER GET A SECOND CHANCE TO LEAVE A FIRST IMPRESSION. We will NEVER eat at this location again. Love the El Pollo by my work in Hemet, Ca. Dishes look like it appears on their adds. However, in Lake Havasu food appears to be opposite. Chicken seemed to be remnants of prior cut chicken pieces (not one bite size piece). To make the matters worst got all the way home and they did not give the cilantro dressings. I will say shame on me assuming the employees filled the order correctly. Went inside to get dressing and there was no acknowledgment that people were standing inline. This El Pollo was visited by me and my husband today for lunch. We ordered the family size 8 piece mixed chicken, pinto beans, mashed potatoes, coleslaw and corn. The chicken was very jerky like. I had trouble cutting the skin with a knife. The meat was dry. I gave a piece of skin to my cocker spaniel and she almost choked on it because she had difficulty chewing it up. The pinto beans were flavorless. I did not enjoy my meal. We drove through. The service was good and prompt. The outside of the building is clean and looks new. Please note: I like el pollo loco and visit it monthly. But this was my first time at this location. I will never go here again. read more
