He was very short on the phone and not trying to help resolve it at all. I was introduced to this family owned chain restaurant by a friend. Everything item appeared to be homemade. The interior was very spacious and inviting, very nicely decorated. I was seated immediately with the option of a booth or table. I ordered the regular boring taco, enchilada, I did ask for a substitution of tamale for the tostada but that was not allowed so I settled for another enchilada instead. I am obsessed with this place! Their food is served hot and flavorful. The portion sizes are decent, too. The service is good and fast. Plus, the sever accurately adjusts the food with modifications upon request. The ambiance is a bit strange because the restaurant has a dining hall that feels too large with a lot of empty spaces. La Puente really hit the spot when I was craving a dish I grew up eating in my early days of dining out. I used to frequent La Puente and La Frontera restaurants more than I'd like to admit back in the day, but after a long hiatus, I've returned. If you're dining in, you'll get complimentary chips and salsa that you won't be able to stop eating. The menu is pretty extensive, but I went with what I always get here, a smothered burrito. They offer chicken and ground beef options, but I went with the classic with beans and tender pieces of pork with cheese and white onions. After adding some sour cream and salsa, I went to town on that baby. Each bite was full of hot goodness, but 2/3 of the way through I had to throw in the towel and pack the rest up for later.
