Absolutely average Mexican restaurant. Prices, menu, and quality all comparable to others in the area. Quick list: Pros: -small outside patio. 2-3 tables near the parking lot -large parking lot in the strip mall - each person gets individual chips and salsa. I always prefer this to sharing a single container per table -food and pricing comparable to others Areas of improvement: -last time I ordered a peach margarita. When asked frozen or on the rocks, I requested rocks but it came frozen. She then said on the rocks isn't an option. The consistency was odd, almost like a smoothie. Wasn't necessarily bad, just different than I was expecting -service is a hit or miss. Have had fast but also have been left waiting Overall this is my go to in the Plainfield area. They are fairly consistent, which I always appreciate!

Wow... just wow... it far exceeded our expectations and first impressions. When I first entered I thought: 'Ok, this is a hole in the wall and they love wood working and horses here.' The seats are much more comfortable than they appear at first. As soon as we sat down, we got our chips and salsa. I love that the salsa comes in a little bottle and you get a small bowl for each guest to pour it in. You won't have to worry about double dipper and folks that stick their fingers in the bowl. I appreciate that. Plus the chips are multicolored and I think that's a nice touch, makes it festive. We ordered the medium margaritas and boy they did they job. Nice pour. Then again you can't go wrong with a margarita in the first place. My guest is vegetarian and was delighted to have so many choices here. She opted for the veggie quesadilla and while it seems smaller compared to other restaurants, it had a lot more stuffing. And with fresh ingredients no less. Fresh sauteed onions, mushrooms and spinach, looked amazing. Of course it came with the usual sides of rice, beans and salad. A generous serving of it all. I ordered the rice and chicken soup. It was a lot larger than I had anticipated. Chock full of shredded chicken and rice, with fresh avocado slices floating on top. But the broth took the limelight. I haven't had something this savory in a while. A bit heavy on the salt, but so freakin' good I didn't want the bowl to end. I also enjoyed the mini taco salad with chicken. While it looks small at roughly 4 inches diameter, it is loaded with shredded chicken, guacamole, sour cream, and assorted other things, it is more filling than I thought at first. We also enjoyed a cheese enchilada a la carte, which was only $2.50, I think , and absolutely worth it. This warrants a return visit so we can check out other items on their extensive menu.

We came here today for lunch. The restaurant is kinda small. We were seated and it took awhile for our server to come. They dropped off the chips and salsa but didn't get our drink order yet. We ordered our food and drinks at the same time, we also decided to get queso. Our waiter came back with our drinks but spilled one and then almost spilled the queso. Our food came out pretty quickly after ordering. I got the fajita quesadilla which was just okay. Our waiter never came back for refills or our check, we ended up going to the front to pay. Overall a pretty lackluster experience

Came here for a work lunch outing. Like most mexican restaurants, chips and salsa come complimentary. Really liked that everyone gets their own small bowl of salsa to avoid everyone dipping in one bowl. Our orders were taken promptly and served fairly quick considering we were a party of 13 during the lunch hour. I enjoyed hard shell beef tacos with a side of rice. The tacos were good, but honestly the meat was really salty. Maybe next time I will try another dish but I did enjoy the rice. Our server was nice, informative and attentive. The booths are all wood with not much butt room that makes seating uncomfortable. Each bench is attached to the table behind you, so if someone needs to adjust their seat, it affects someone else. I will most likely come back to try something different, but it will be carryout.

This Mexican restaurant carries one of my all-time favorite Mexican dishes: The Camarones Potro. This dish has scallops, shrimp, spinach, and onions. But, that's not what makes this dish so delicious. The special sauce they pour over all the seafood & veggies is the secret to this amazing dish! As for drinks, their spicy margaritas are a must try!

What. The. Heck. Where is El Cerrito?! Why was it replaced with this more-expensive-smaller-portions knock-off? I used to be able to just go in and the owner already knew my order. Today I searched the unfamiliar menu for the lunch number. I didn't get my gigantic to go coke and I didn't have a grape tootsie pop to finish my meal with. Not happy about the change. The food tasted the same and it's the same atmosphere but the experience wasn't. If I want tacos I'll probably stop here again but I won't be battling anyone for the top spot in check ins here I'm sure. It's just not the same.

We ordered the Hawaiian fajitas! They are so yummy! Chicken, bacon, cheese, mushrooms and pineapples! A must try!

Great service. Drinks and chips/salsa came out quickly. I had a delicious Sangrita. Was a typical American/Mexican vibe. Menu was expansive but the normal favorite items. Good service good food...would return.

Our server Emily was cheerful and informative. A parking garage across the street served us well for dining at this restaurant and attending an event at Hendricks Live across the street. The shrimp cocktail appetizer featured fresh large shrimp with dollops of horseradish on the plate and a nice sauce. I enjoyed the steak frites entree, a generous portion of steak perfectly cooked, served with a delicious broccolini and tasty fries. My sister ordered the chicken marsala and noted that she would have liked more sauce, and the truffle potatoes were delicious. My brother said his huge pork chop was perfect, and my sister in-law recommended the sirloin steak. We had reservations and were seated at a high top table, which is not my preferred way to dine but the restaurant was full so we didn't ask to be moved. We had a bit of a wait for our entrees and chalked that up to it being Saturday night. There is a separate bar area and rooftop dining with igloos available.

I drove an hour to visit this place and saw lots of good reviews. I started off with a lemon drop and a snack short rib eggroll. The lemon drop was watery and just did not hit like I would have hoped (I'm a lemon drop girly). They do use Titos as their well so that was good. The egg roll was dry- you definitely need to dip in the wasabi aioli to make it palatable. Next up were the buffalo chicken hush puppies. I like the idea here. The inside was moist and flavorful and the outside was kind of dry and drizzled with what I think was ranch. They were ok. I have a Ceaser salad add chicken and "fried" Brussels sprouts. The salad was suppose to come the onions , there were none so the waitress brought me some. The salad was mid at best and the chicken was dry and unflavored. I asked for some spicy ranch and that saved the salad! The Brussels sprouts were pretty good. My friend had the potato soup and said it was very watery (not creamy at all). I enjoyed the live music and overall vibe but good was average. Parking is an issue as well. There is parking in the rear or a parking garage but not super convenient parking.

The front desk attendant at the hotel gave us a double thubs up on the nearby Coachman Restaurant and Lounge so we made our way over with rather high expectations. We have to admit that at first glance the Coachman doesn't suggest a superior dining experience. A somewhat tired exterior and an outdoor deck populated by smokers gave us pause but we pressed on and could not have been more pleasantly surprised by the food, drink, and service. We started with a Casamiga Ranch Water and a pint of the local amber ale. The drinks arrived in frosted glasses with the perfect degree of crispness. The star here is the prime rib. We had the 12 ounce prime which was perfectly rare and served with a large dollop of horseradish as well as a medium rare prime rib sandwich. The meat was flawlessly seasoned and impeccably tender. Our visit to the Coachman reinforced the adage that one ought not judge a book by its cover. We don't know if our adventures will take us through Plainfield again but if they do we will prioritize a meal at the Coachman!
