The wife and I stopped in for the first time at margaritas Grill. I will say the atmosphere is five out of five. The service was also excellent. The wife had a grilled chicken street taco, she said it was delicious and I had the chorizo street taco which was also one of the best I've ever had and also had a pork street taco, the chips and salsa were delicious. Our biggest complaint was the rice and beans were extremely dry like they've been microwaved and my pork taco was extremely dry, but it had good flavor. Think we'll try it again sometime. read more

I'm usually pretty easy to please but this was a disaster. The last in front was on the phone when I entered. She handed it to someone else and took me to my table. I was not offered any water or drinks. I was brought clips and salsa with a menu. I had to flag down the waiter after 10 minutes of waiting to get a water. When I did order the waiter want friendly and I seemed to be a bother to him. My order was brought out by a nice waitress. The food was bland and undercooked. There was little to no seasoning. The rice tasted like white plain rice even though it looked like Mexican rice. I was not checked on. I finally had someone come over and I asked for a box. I was given a box and a check. I have passed this Mexican joint for years and finally made it here. It is located in the Centre at Smith Valley where it has a large parking lot that it shares with the other businesses in Centre. It is your typical Mexican restaurant with colorful decor. They have a large dining area and serve your typical Mexican fare that includes tacos, quesadillas, burritos, chimichangas, shrimp dishes, enchiladas and fajitas. They also have a decent selection of margaritas, if that is your thing. I ordered a Toluca Steak and I got one of their savory margaritas to wash it down. Instead of rice, I opted to go with the fries. It took about 15 minutes to get my food, but that was ok since I had some of their complimentary chips and salsa to keep me occupied. My server was nice enough, but I had limited interaction with her. My meal was pretty good. But you cant go wrong with steak and chorizio. Anyway, the steak was perfect. I highly recommend getting that meal if you make it here. This is a nice option to get you Mexican food fix. I was glad that I was able to make it here and will be back soon. read more

Service was good. Atmosphere is nice. It was not busy which didn't bother us at all. It was kind of nice. Close to home. And very delicious. Tacos were great but I couldn't finish them. I took took the meat and cilantro out of the tacos and ate with avacado and lime and stil didn't finish the meal. Chips are good. A lot of places taste stale. These are good. Salsa was to spicy for me but probably ok for everyone else. Best thing everything came out hot. It was very nice. Cheese dip was one of the better I've had in the area. My husband and I had our taxes done at HR Block next door, so we decided to get some dinner before we head home. We walked in and immediately you notice how colorful it is! There were a fair amount of customers dining in, but still quite a few open tables. We stood in the entryway looking around for a hostess/host. We were greeted by a female who said something in Spanish to another employee, grabbed 2 menus and walked us to our table. We were seated in the area with the bar. Our server was a man with dark hair who must have been having a bad day. He took our drink orders and left, we did not order alcohol. He came back with our sodas after some time and asked what we wanted to eat. We ordered the table side guacamole and he said "no". He said they don't have any avocados. Ok, so we passed on an appetizer and just ordered food. I ordered the super enchiladas with chicken and my husband ordered the tacos de asada. He left and we decided to partake in the chips and salsa. While sitting at our table, I noticed lots of dust on the ledges. My husband noticed it as well and he is pretty much oblivious to everything!! Our server came out with our food, put it down on the table and walked away. We did not have any silverware so we just stared at our plates. We flagged over a lady and asked for silverware, she said ok and then walked off. We then flagged over a man who did get us silverware. We ate and the food was good, our server never came back to check in on us. We finished our food and waited for him to return. He returned with our check, put it on the table and walked away again. We paid our bill and left. Food was good, service wasn't so great. Again, maybe our server was having a bad day? My husband said to me "it's quite obvious our server gives zero fu*ks today!" Me and my significant other love it here! When I initially ate here I just didn't understand the glory of this Mexican grill. Now I see the light...Margarita's is truly my favorite dining experience when it comes to Mexican cuisine. Although it may not be as authentic as legitimate Mexican meals served at taquerias, it is sure to satisfy any fan of cheesy, meaty, and spicy tastes! Our server this most recent visit mentioned that he was the "new guy", yet he had charm and did an absolutely excellent job at making sure we were satisfied throughout the entire visit. This man deserves the world (and perhaps a raise 0_0) The ambiance is definitely a maximalists dream. Bright colors everywhere and for some reason Disney artwork? Don't really get that as I'm not a Disney Adult, but hey it might make the younger guests get more excited about visiting this excellent establishment. Highly recommend this restaurant! We came here Saturday night for drinks, queso, and taco salads. This is definitely one of the better places in Greenwood and you totally can not beat the price of the drinks and free chips and salsa. Was a pretty cheap meal all together and we had lots of food and drink. Not the best Mexican I have ever had in my life but definitely a spot we will add into the rotation. I stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The food and service were good throughout the time I was there. After parking in the shared lot, I went to the hostess stand to the right as I entered and then was seated at one of the colorfully relieved booths. The colors are vibrant and almost demand that you check them out. I quickly placed my order and while I waited, began digging into the complementary chips and salsa. The bowl of chips was huge (way too much for eating by myself if I wanted to save room for lunch.) The salsa was tasty and had a hint of heat that became more noticeable as I continued, but never too spicy for me. Before long, my entree of Tacos de Asada with rice and beans arrived. The three double shelled tacos (soft corn shells about 5 to 6 inches across) arrived with diced bits of beef, onion, and topped with cilantro. There didn't appear to be any taco sauce of any kind on them, but the waitress did bring out a green sauce in a bottle. It was okay, but the sauce didn't add a lot of depth to the flavor. They tacos were definitely savory, but a little dry and especially filling with the double tortillas. I am not a hot sauce guy, but they do have a couple brands on the table if that is something you like. The beans were thinned so that they didn't clump like some places and they were topped with some melted cheese. The rice was pretty good too and had small vegetables chopped into it for additional color and flavor. I decided to not over stuff myself and decided to get a to go box. Today for Lunch, my friends and I went to this Margarita's location. We had a very pleasant experience. I had ordered the Chimichanga Platter. One was grilled Steak, and the other was grilled Chicken. They were fresh, piping hot, filled generously, and absolutely delicious. The grilled Chimichanga was my favorite. I ordered them with Meat, Grilled Onions, and White Queso drizzled on the top. The grilled Chicken was very moist and tender. The Pastry Shell was fried perfectly; not too crunchy, nor too soggy. The Refried Beans and Mexican Rice were delicious too! My friends had ordered the Ground Beef Tamale, Shredded Beef Burrito, and Chile Relleno (Ala Cartè). They really enjoyed their food, with the same opinions that I had of my meal. Our Waitress was very punctual. She was kind and courteous as well. She made sure that our Beverages were refilled on time without us having to ask, and that our customary Tortilla Chips were freshly made. We were very pleased with everything overall. I hate to give a poor review to a local restaurant, but there were too many negatives to ignore. First, we were ignored after being seated until I flagged down a server. No apology, no acknowledgement. Ok, we're fine, we just want to eat. But the initial impression served as a glimpse into the rest of the service that night. Slow and ignored. No refills. No asking how everything was. But if the food is amazing, maybe it doesn't matter? The guacamole was the consistency of pudding. Pudding! This is NOT the guac that is made tableside, which looks much better. They say it's freshly made in the kitchen. I have my doubts. Either way, it was weirdly soupy/runny and off-color. I also ordered fajitas and ate one. The beef was chewy and inedible. I may sound like a tough customer. I wanted to love it, I really did. Overall, a good Mexican restaurant for the area. My husband and I stopped by here last weekend when we were in the Greenwood area. It was about 1pm on a Sunday and about half the restaurant was full--we were seated as soon as we got there. We were, of course, excited when a server brought out chips and salsa as we were starving. As soon as we dug into it, though, my husband and I looked at each other and had the same thought, "this salsa tastes odd." After about 30 seconds of munching, I figured it out and determined the salsa literally tasted like cold tomato soup. Exactly the traditional Cambell's style a typical American child would have grown up eating. I was pretty bummed since so many people had raved about the salsa here on Yelp. We were happy, though, that both of our entrees were phenomenal. My husband had some sort of cheesy chicken dish while I had the Seafood Quesadilla. It was hot and delicious. Sadly, though, the service was sub-par. Other than getting our orders and bringing our check, our waitress only came to our table once. I think I ordered the wrong thing. The tacos came with nothing but meat. Very good meat, but No cheese, lettuce, tomato etc. They served a green sauce, but it was not the sausa Verde of tex Mex foods. More like a mild hot pepper sauce. I noticed Don Juan's also serves tacos plain. Is that considered authentic? Other people at my table got fajitas and they were served with all the fixin's. Looked much better than mine. Best Mexican place in Greenwood hands down. I've never had a bad thing off their menu and their margaritas are ever a miss either. When you walk-in check the specials board for their drink special if you want to shave a few dollars off the standards price. A few years back they redid the decor so the interior is bright and hand-crafted, with the TVs always on some sort of sports programming. My daughter and I come here after her Ortho appointment at times. On this day we arrived at 1pm "during" lunch hr. They sat us down immediately and brought us chips and salsa. Nothing to much to say about this. Our server came and took our order. My daughter ordered a chicken burrito and asked for NO meat because she wanted all the other fixings that went with it. I order the fajitas lunch special. When my daughter's burrito came out it had CHICKEN in it. So the server took it back immediately. My fajitas came out sizzling hot and I didn't have any issues with it. I actually love their fajitas. They are cooked with onion, peppers and tomatoes so it leaves you feeling very full. What I love the most is the fajitas has the cheese melted into it already! . Omg it is soo gooey and though I'm not a big shrimp eater the shrimp in the fajitas were a nice size. I'm choose to give 3 stars because even though the food was very good. There was no type of adjustment to the bill for burrito that was brought out incorrectly. We visited on a Thursday night, it was pretty busy, but there was no wait and we were seated in a festive booth immediately. First time in and I do not think we will be returning. My dinner and house margarita tasted great but I wish I could say the same for the service! Our server took our drink order and then never returned. Someone new brought us our drinks and our food. We were never asked if we wanted refills. We asked three separate employees if we could get more chips and salsa and had to wait about 15 minutes before we finally got some. No one checked on us after we received our food to see if we were okay. We never got our checks and ended up walking to the front to see if we could have them ring us up there. Not sure if this was normal or not, but it was a weekday night and they were not that busy so it's hard to be understanding. Luckily the food did taste really good. My boyfriend and I both enjoyed our meals. We also really liked the chips and salsa (for the short lived 5 minutes they we had a basket -- never to be refilled again). However, I have never had such small portions at a Mexican restaurant. My go-to meal is the dinner combination with a burrito, taco, rice, and beans. I would estimate that I've ordered that at 10+ different Mexican restaurants. NEVER have I paid the same price and received half the food as I do elsewhere. My boyfriend said something similar about his portion. Great taste can only carry a restaurant so far when the small portions, high cost, and poor service come into play. read more

The service you get is wholly dependent on if the hosts and servers haven't black listed you. The practice of black listing a customer. Is usually done after an underperforming server was told on. The atmosphere under this group of manager and servers can normally be very 'be glad I'm even here.' The staff wouldn't interact with you much. But it's mostly changed due to the lock down and updates. Far as I know corporate has an idea of what's going on and they expanded anyway. read more

I don't know what happened to my favorite Mexican hot spot, but I am beyond disappointed - service is key to a great dining experience, and it took me all I had in me to not refill our empty drinks as they sat empty for the majority of our dining experience. After 45 minutes of waiting for our food- our food came out piece meal- tortillas were forgotten, my margarita never came. I used to love this place, and I was concerned, so I mentioned our experience to the manager, and his response to my concerns was bind-blowing. He looked at me and said "I know that guy sucks." Hmm. BEWARE OF THEIR PRICING. We give this restaurant 5 stars for their food, but a 1 star for the pricing discrepancy. The pricing on their menu and what they actually charge you, which is higher, are not the same. They either need to update their menu pricing or tell you the difference when you order. In this case, they done neither. We had this happen at the Greenwood location and we have friends who had it happen to them at their Shelby St. location. read more

It was one of the coldest days of the year when we went and I was looking forward to a big fat chimi or fajitas. HOWEVER, there was a huge breeze in the restaurant and naturally she sat us by the window. I should have known we were in trouble because everyone was wearing a jacket or coat (including our server). I barely touched my iced tea I was so cold, and it didn't take long for the temperature of our food to drop due to the interior temperature of the restaurant. My first visit prior to this one, this being my second, was much better, hence the return.
