Wow. If you're looking for a spot that has amazing food, beautiful art and design aspects, friendly…read moreservice, and plates to share, Aguardente is the place for you. A friend and I came in and put our names on the waitlist, waited for about 45 minutes at a bar down the street, and then had some of the most fulfilling tapas ever! We got a Prosciutto & Salpicao board, the Queijo de Cabra, and Frijol Dip. I also got a nice portuguese red wine that paired well with some of the cheese we received. We sat in a very sweet and cozy nook and enjoyed every minute! I will be back when it's warm out and the front patio is open!

At their front patio, they had the World Cup game playing, but the back patio felt cozier so we opted for that. The inside though was a strong second since the lighting is very low, creating a cool and calm environment. Walking through the restaurant to get to our table made me realize that each table is unique, no two are decorated the same or have the same furniture. It was a hot day but the overhead mesh cover blocked out a lot of the sun. Our waitress made us feel very welcome from the start and told us about their drink and food specials. My friend ordered Guatemalan beer as well as a Spanish beer. For food, we ordered the plantain fries, octopus, calamari, and shrimp salad, and grilled lamp chops. The seafood salad came out first. According to the menu, it was going to be paired with cornbread. It looked like sourdough bread but had a far denser consistency. I was expecting the salad to have lots of shrimp to act as a filler but surprisingly, it was about 60% octopus, 25% calamari, 10% shrimp, and 5% onions. The seafood was very flavorful, tasted fresh, and cooked perfectly. The portion size was great for two. Next came the plantain fries, which I was least impressed with as it was essentially fried plantain chunks. I think it would have been better if they were cut into smaller pieces that can be easily dipped and consumed in one bite. The plantain was gently ripe, so just a little sweet and the dipping sauce was like a less sour sour cream. Lastly, the lamp chops came out and the presentation was wonderful. They were a bit skinnier and less tender than that I was expecting, but flavor wise they were good. We enjoyed the food, ambiance, and service here.

I never cared to pay for what I want i was a server too. It was just the principal on top of that. The service was horrible. She brought out my drink last. My food and hookah came out first there was also a leakage in the outside area that was dripping on us. as soon as we paid the server ran right to the back and refused to give us the receipt showing how much she charged for each item not just how much the total was will never be going there again and be careful if you get scammed. disappointing because the food is good, but the customer service will never be eating in there again nor will I recommend it

Food was great! There wasn't that many people eating so it came out relatively quick. Most people…read morewere drinking, smiling hookah, and watching baseball and football games. I dislike the way they tried to overcharge us. First they brought the receipt which lists that 15% gratuity is included. I had never seen that for a a group of 4 ( 2 adults and 2 kids) but sure I usually tip 20% anyways. The shady part was when they brought back the receipt that one signs after credit card has been processed, the total price was completely different than the original receipt and they do not bring the itemized copy of the receipt. They only brought a total receipt. I didn't particularly enjoy the ambiance as it smells like hookah and I went with children.

Service was great. Everyone was super friendly and attentive. My favorite bite was the calamari. It was perfectly crisp and lightly battered and came with a variety of peppers. I ordered the halibut special and my only complaint is that the halibut could've had slightly more seasoning, but it was cooked well and the risotto was tasty! I tasted my mom's baked stuffed lobster, which was good, but slightly overcooked. Overall had a positive experience and I would consider going back.

My bf got the NY steak which was a generous portion including mashed and some Brussels sprouts, a carrot for decor. Steak was cooked perfect and had that nice smoke tasting note to it. I had the Chicken Spain which was a generous portion of 2pcs, came with mashed, some Brussels sprouts and a carrot for decor too. Wish their gravy had a little more to the serving, was a mushroom almost broth flavored gravy with a background hint of something I can't put my finger on... maybe Marsala wine??? Feel like their Bread & butter could be a lot better, super crusty and the butter was pretty flavorless and portion of it was a dollop. Calamari was good, came with just the rings which I prefer and no tentacles, peppers and marina sauce. Bill was $124 w/o tip and I had a non alcoholic drink too.
