Dirty tray for self service pastries.
    Jim G.

We couldn't wait for this place to open. We were a little disappointed to learn it was the same folks off northern Broadway as we only like their tortillas. The building itself is beautiful. The workers were friendly and eager to help. What I didn't like is that nothing was labeled. There was lots of meat in the cold display but had no idea what I was looking at. I also found what looked like beef jerky in bags but was unsure what it was. I saw what looked like huge tortillas but it was some kind of huge flour cracker. Also unlabeled. The pastry display was full all kinds of muffins, cakes, and churros (the few things I could identify) but nothing labeled again! Price?? Nope! I waited in line and asked for 2 churros. I was handed a dirty tray and dirty tongs and they pointed to the display. I guess it's self service but there are no bags/wax paper/clean tongs to help yourself. The churros were dry and not very good. I really just went in for tortillas but they didn't have any The 2 stars are for the supermarket area with dry and canned goods. Like most new things in Eureka it was huge disappointment.

    Pan Dulce / Sweet Breads

Moved to the area earlier this year and have had such a hard time finding some good sweet breads. I grew up being able to access the best sweet breads at every corner where I grew up and have been badly missing them. Low and behold, this jewel is only 2 miles from my house! Walking in the place is small, a few shelves of goods (but those hard to find brands I can't seem to find in stores around here!!!) - but the most prominent thing is the sweet breads. It smelled so fresh when I walked in I was in heaven. I got a few different ones, some of my favorite cuernos and conchas... and OMG. They were so fresh and tasty. I have definitely found "my spot." If you're in the area or looking for what I would call the best pan dulce around, PLEASE stop in here. You won't be disappointed!

The owner is one of the sweetest guys in town! The space is small but has a home-like feel to it especially for the LatinX culture Today I was missing my family and being in L.A. so I decided to stop by for some fresh bread at the bakery! Feel free to stop by, the owner speaks English and Spanish and usually is very sweet in answering any questions you have. Will update once I try their breads yummy!! Can't wait

They have a guava-filled, coconut-coated roll cake (niño envuelto?) that I still daydream about two years later. The staff said the cake itself was their tres leches recipe (minus the usual soaking mixture). The pig-shaped pastry and the conchas were also great. A thank you to the helpful staff: I had a lot of questions about what everything was -- and asked for their recommendations about what baked goods to buy. We tried a lot of things...I probably wouldn't get the pineapple upside down cake or the sprinkled cookie again. The shop is tiny (not a problem, just an observation) -- and when we were there, it was cash only. Very much worth a stop. If we're ever back in the area, we'll be back!

Just bought it, tastes weird, looks like molds growing inside

I just throw in some beans and rice and lettuce, sour cream, and guacamole. I mean, who puts lettuce in a quesadilla? To top it off, there was no silverware or napkins in my to go order. The taste is OK.

I'm still all about the chile relleno burrito so the last time we went I ordered one with carne asada and it was literally the burrito of my dreams. This time when we went inside I noticed a hand written sign above the cash register that said "The Raliberto" which was basically my chile relleno burrito plus carne asada, so I ordered it. I cut it in half, took a picture this time and noticed it wasn't the same, it had cheddar cheese instead of that delicious white cheese the relleno comes with, and I don't think the poblano was battered and fried, it was just a plain pepper that was stuffed with cheese- it was still very tasty just not the burrito of my dreams. I'm thinking since it was a special, they may have run out of the regular rellenos or perhaps they were cutting costs but next time I'll just stick with the regular chile relleno burrito. We also picked up an order of their other special, carne asada rolled tacos, which definitely don't need the added carne asada because guacamole is all them tasty suckers need but we snarfed it all down. I don't know when we'll be driving through again but this is a really solid spot that I'll always think of fondly.

They also have Guatemalan items for sale over at the register. I decided to go for the garnachas, which is a Guatemalan street food, similar to a sope. These were like little mini sopes. . The corn masa cake base was delicious, and it was not over fried. The ground beef was seasoned very well, the veggies gave it a nice pop of freshness. The cheese was great, and I especially loved the sauce. The sauce just brought it all together. There was a little pile of jalapeño, onion, and carrot in the middle. I didn't touch the jalapeño. I tried the carrot and the onion, but they were too spicy for me. Not a big deal. It was a nice lite lunch, and with soda, tax and tip, the price was very reasonable. I definitely want to come back and try more items off of this menu. Thank you.

If only this restaurant was in LA, we'd be there all the time supporting this gem of a location because finding Guatemalan food is somewhat rare!! GYY, what a treat to find in Humboldt, the in dining experience would have also been superb as the location offers plenty of comfortable seating to choose from. We however were on a road trip and enjoyed all of the food including a passion fruit água fresca from the car!

The day I was there one lady was working both the store and the taco truck. It took a few minutes for her to come out. I ordered two tacos, a Carnitas, and a lengua. (Tongue). There was a small upcharge for the Lengua. For "street tacos", they were huge! Both the Carnitas and the lengua had very decent portions, and they were both tender and delicious. The tacos also came with a pico de gallo that was delicious, and was not very spicy. You can also get spicy hot sauce on it if you want instead of the pico. It was about eight bucks out the door. When I first paid, I thought that was a bit expensive. But then when I saw what I was getting? It was well worth it. I will be back. Thank you.

My husband ordered Al pastor tacos and WTH it had hardly any meat and was filled with beans and rice. Service is sketchy the pricing seemed overinflated and we never received a receipt. 40 dollars for a burrito and 2 tacos. We were better off eating at chipotle. Go with it first thought and just pass. The bakery smells great when you walk inside but the pan dulce is hard and dry. I really wanted to love this place sadly left confused.
