    Gyros

The BEST vegan food in PR. I cannot recommend it enough. The greatest chef and staff! Natalia was the sweetest.

This was one of my favorite meals while I was in Puerto Rico. We came in for a late lunch after hiking all morning. When we got there around 3pm the place was pretty empty. I am thankful that they had a dedicated parking. We ordered some beers, a gyro, and their special plate of the day which was "steak" and peppers with rice. The food came at a reasonable pace. It was a very relaxing spot and the atmosphere made me feel comfortable. When the food arrived it was really hot and tasty. I was really impressed by the gyro. The pita was so soft and the fake meat was so flavorful. The red pepper sauce was also very delicious. I will be thinking about it for a while...it was THAT good. Probably my favorite meal from the trip. This would be a good place to stop before or after the Bacardi tour because they are pretty close to each other by car. Definitely make this a spot if you can!!

El punto Vegano I will begin with a remark that this hole in the wall looking restaurant had excellent 'all vegan food' but its the harrowing experience we had to face to actually get there is what I am rating. We wanted to experience using a ferry as a public transport, the restaurant was 4 min walk from the ferry station. When we reached the ferry station after an hour long search for a parking spot, we were told that today was some kind of holiday and so ferries would start only after 2 pm! There is a bus which goes there but that is hourly once. The idea was to take the ferry as already mentioned, eat in this famous vegan place, take the short Bacardi tour, before heading off to Cuave del Indio. But, it was already noon and were still in San Juan ferry station, we were running out of time so we decided to drive. We had a nasty surprise when we reached there. It was 11 in the morning on a weekday, the tiny looking restaurant was located right next to the parking lot of a huge local supermarket, which was practically empty. We parked. We, and another lady who was a localite, parked against the wall attached to the restaurant and both walked in exactly at the same time. A minute into getting the table in an almost empty restaurant, my partner realized he had forgotten the wallet in the car. He went to get it and a guy followed him and threatened us with dire consequences if we did not take the car out immediately- mind you he literally targeted us and did not even talk to the localite lady whose car was parked right next to ours and she also came into the restaurant. The restaurant people did absolutely nothing to help us. They did not even try to translate what he was waving his hands and getting all hyper about or try to calm him, the only thing we could understand was "police, police". So much drama and the other local lady who had parked beside ours was right there all the while. He looked pretty unkempt too. That only leads me to conclude one thing- he was a thief, or a local madman trying to pull a fast one. He saw the wallet and before he could lay his lands we went to get it and he grew hysterical thinking he was caught, or, that maybe that his plan was foiled. Other than this restaurant and the fact that Bacardi factory is close by (oh, u can book a tour to the Bacardi factory btw), the area is pretty run down and not recommended to be a visiting spot. Food- El punto vegano has excellent choice of burger patties including soy meat or even beyond meat patties- we got the one made with garbanzos and it was simply yummy. We also got the tortillas, which is a must try as it is completely different from anything you have ever tasted. The food portions, mind you, are not big for the price but its the taste that is unique. Albeit our appetite was hurt by what had happened but we did travel for an hour to get there so better eat right.... To sum it up food was great, the restaurant itself inside is clean and very well maintained, but go there at your own risk. For me though, its the first and last visit for sure.

    Pistachio baklava...... so good

This place was such a wonderful find! Clean, nice place. We were the only ones in the place. I have to be honest it did take a bit for our food but it was so worth it! Hot fresh and so tasty. Service was great, did not get our servers name but she was sweet and helpful. If you get a chance to go here do not hesitate you will not regret it.

This was the best meal of my entire vacation. All of Natalia's recommendations were amazing. Friendly staff and amazing food. I highly recommend!

Menu is in Spanish and English Parking exclusive around the corner!! ;-))

Service and ambiance great. The SOB beer was good but the food wasn't not so good. Their take on the mfongo was very dry, hard to swallow and fell apart into large chunks of pieces. The chick pea with artichoke starter did not have artichokes that were noticeable to me, but that dish was delicious. I would go back and try some of their other dishes since they have a great variety on their menu.

    Soy quesadillas.

AWESOME!!! We are from LA and been to many different vegan places but this is the best!!!! I've never tasted any vegan food like this in my life, HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I could not stop talking about how good the food was all day. Service was awesome as well, great place!

I ordered the vegan Gyro which came with fries and let me tell you this is one of the best gyros I ever had. So much so that I ordered another one to share with my friend that's how good it was. I would definitely recommend this place and the next time I'm back in Puerto Rico I would visit again

Stopped here on 2 different trips - had to come back bc the food is that good. Authentic Puerto Rican as well. I usually ask for a taste of everything and they are super accommodating. Loved the vegan coquito @ Christmas time.

The food was delicious and I was happy with everything I tried (two burgers, fried rice and mushrooms with chickpeas). The service was great, the staff was attentive and informative to this non-vegan eater. I tried one of their craft beers as well, which was delicious, and I'm not typically a beer drinker. The environment was clean and they complied by the covid restrictions. If you're in the area, I'd definitely recommend.

We visited on a Monday night without a reservation and almost didn't get a table. The hostess was incredibly kind and explained that there was an 8:00 p.m. reservation that hadn't been confirmed. She offered to seat us if the party didn't arrive within the grace period. Thankfully, they never showed up, and the table became ours. From that point on, everything was fantastic. The food was spectacular, and the service was just as impressive. Every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The restaurant itself is charming and inviting--it really does feel like dining in a cozy "casita." If you're visiting San Juan, Casita Miramar is absolutely worth a visit. El Conflicto was perfect, all the flavor of a pina colada but without the heaviness of syrups & sugar. The Pollo Borracho was super flavorful & filling, chicken cooked to perfection falling off the bone. My fiancé had the Carne Frita, it was super tender & a well balanced dish. Service was friendly & attentive. My only complaint- we were so full we couldn't even look at the dessert menu! Guess we will just have to go back.

I also feel compelled to review because we went to this restaurant on the strength of the 4.8 star rating. However, our experience was more in line with the 1-2 star reviews. Building is an old church, we found. I suspected that because of the stained glass around and the layout of dining room. It can get pretty loud in the dining room. At some point early in the service I felt I needed my earplugs. So, I put them in. You order via QR code on the table from your phone. Then.....the...wait....begins. We're seated at 11:18am. Order in around 11:30am. We finally got drinks at 12:09pm (39min). Drinks were really good, had the Ginger Turmeric Shot, Chia Latte, Cappuccino & Passion Fruit Juice. We thought that was a sign of more good things to come. Food arrived at 12:41. 30min later. Now, after waiting for 1hr9min, if the food comes out and it's bangin', all is forgiven and the drop in service is just a small blip in the experience. However... The Food: Chai Pancakes Pumpkin Pancakes Veggie Scrambled Eggs The EGGS were good. But nothing I couldn't do easily in my own kitchen. The Chai pancakes were the worst pancakes I've ever had. Far too much spices added and dry, dry, dry! I had one bite. One. Pushed it off. My wife had the Pumpkin Pancakes. She only had a few bites. "Have some of mine." I tried them. Weird flavor and gummy. She then said "Yeah, I didn't like them, either." Pushed the plate away. Funny that they make you PAY and TIP at the beginning of the meal. So, no matter how good or bad your experience is, they get their money. And this terrible experience cost us $68.00. $68 for breakfast!! Most of which didn't get eaten. There's no incentive for them to improve. And because of that...we will not be back. So the drinks, good. Eggs, good. Everything else WTF?? Oh, I almost forgot, you get your own water from their water station. A filtered water dispenser machine. Which seemed okay at the time. But it's just one more thing that the servers didn't have to do to deserve a tip. Terrible experience. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend. 1.5
