Food was great. I enjoyed the fact they had vegan versions of local Puerto Rican food. My husband is very picky and said the food was perfectly seasoned. It's a small place but clean and had a nice bathroom. The server was nice. Apparently the original chef (Natalie) left to pursue some other office business but she still has a hand in the management. read more

Best food we had on our whole trip! You can tell they really care about the quality of the food. Everything is fresh, creative, and delicious. They have frequently changing daily specials. When we visited we tried their tuna tartare, seafood paella, alcapurrias, and apple pie. Everything was so packed with flavor it was crazy. The restaurant is super cute and the service was excellent. I highly recommend you check out their instagram. They're very active and will post the daily specials, changes in hours, and even do live videos of what they're cooking in the kitchen. My only complaint is that I don't live in Puerto Rico and cannot just come to this restaurant whenever I want!! read more

This was one of my favorite meals while I was in Puerto Rico. We came in for a late lunch after hiking all morning. When we got there around 3pm the place was pretty empty. I am thankful that they had a dedicated parking. We ordered some beers, a gyro, and their special plate of the day which was "steak" and peppers with rice. The food came at a reasonable pace. It was a very relaxing spot and the atmosphere made me feel comfortable. When the food arrived it was really hot and tasty. I was really impressed by the gyro. The pita was so soft and the fake meat was so flavorful. The red pepper sauce was also very delicious. I will be thinking about it for a while...it was THAT good. Probably my favorite meal from the trip. This would be a good place to stop before or after the Bacardi tour because they are pretty close to each other by car. El punto Vegano I will begin with a remark that this hole in the wall looking restaurant had excellent 'all vegan food' but its the harrowing experience we had to face to actually get there is what I am rating. We wanted to experience using a ferry as a public transport, the restaurant was 4 min walk from the ferry station. When we reached the ferry station after an hour long search for a parking spot, we were told that today was some kind of holiday and so ferries would start only after 2 pm! There is a bus which goes there but that is hourly once. The idea was to take the ferry as already mentioned, eat in this famous vegan place, take the short Bacardi tour, before heading off to Cuave del Indio. But, it was already noon and were still in San Juan ferry station, we were running out of time so we decided to drive. We had a nasty surprise when we reached there. It was 11 in the morning on a weekday, the tiny looking restaurant was located right next to the parking lot of a huge local supermarket, which was practically empty. We parked. We, and another lady who was a localite, parked against the wall attached to the restaurant and both walked in exactly at the same time. A minute into getting the table in an almost empty restaurant, my partner realized he had forgotten the wallet in the car. He went to get it and a guy followed him and threatened us with dire consequences if we did not take the car out immediately- mind you he literally targeted us and did not even talk to the localite lady whose car was parked right next to ours and she also came into the restaurant. The restaurant people did absolutely nothing to help us. They did not even try to translate what he was waving his hands and getting all hyper about or try to calm him, the only thing we could understand was "police,police". So much drama and the other local lady who had parked beside ours was right there all the while. He looked pretty unkempt too. That only leads me to conclude one thing- he was a thief, or a local madman trying to pull a fast one. He saw the wallet and before he could lay his lands we went to get it and he grew hysterical thinking he was caught, or, that maybe that his plan was foiled. Other than this restaurant and the fact that Bacardi factory is close by (oh, u can book a tour to the Bacardi factory btw), the area is pretty run down and not recommended to be a visiting spot. Food- El punto vegano has excellent choice of burger patties including soy meat or even beyond meat patties- we got the one made with garbanzos and it was simply yummy. We also got the tortillas, which is a must try as it is completely different from anything you have ever tasted. The food portions, mind you, are not big for the price but its the taste that is unique. Albeit our appetite was hurt by what had happened but we did travel for an hour to get there so better eat right.... To sum it up food was great, the restaurant itself inside is clean and very well maintained, but go there at your own risk. For me though, its the first and last visit for sure. read more

Service and ambiance great. The SOB beer was good but the food wasn't not so good. Their take on the mfongo was very dry, hard to swallow and fell apart into large chunks of pieces. The chick pea with artichoke starter did not have artichokes that were noticeable to me, but that dish was delicious. I would go back and try some of their other dishes since they have a great variety on their menu. read more

We tried this restaurant for dinner and I can honestly say we are happy we did. The portions are reasonable and the food tastes very good. They are a like a vegan fusion with pizza, pita, Tacos and Gnocchi on the menu. If you are in the area and have a yen for vegan food, definitely try them out and taste their veg rolls, out of this world. read more

I was visiting while on vacation, I was trying to find a vegan restaurant and stumbled upon this place. I seen the great reviews and wanted to check it out. We went in the afternoon. My group of 4 were the only people in there. The service was not good, our waiter did not check on us, except to get our order and bring out our food. Our food took foooorever to receive. I ordered the papas supreme. The fries tasted were dry, and tasted stale. the flavor was just ok. Later during the evening I experienced the worst food poisoning. I know it was from this place because that was all I ate that day. It sucked being on vacation and sick for a day and a half till the food poisoning passed. I would not recommend this place because of the service and food poisoning I experienced. read more

Wow! The food here was so good! I've been shocked at how so much of the food on the island has been so bland! That is not the case here. There are many savory options as well as sweet options. I could eat the rice and beans all day every day. There was also and eggplant dish that was fabulous (and I don't even like eggplant). The staff is super friendly and spoke English and Spanish. I only wish we had found it sooner so I could have eaten here more often during my trip. I wasn't able to try the pizza, I guess it's only a dinner option. read more

Starting with the hospitality, everyone here including the head chef is super kind and considerate-especially towards those of us who aren't native Spanish speakers, which was greatly appreciated! We ate here three different times during our stay and were able to eat around the entire menu! The burgers and quesadillas were great, as well as the pizza! It's located in a small seaside neighborhood off the beaten path which only adds to its authenticity. It was great to eat vegan food prepared with such care and consideration. The way that the food was plated was creative and appetizing. We were here for a quick bite late Friday. Dont be fooled by where the restaurant is, literally in the middle of nowhere. But the food is mind-blowing and its all vegan. We got the house pizza and it was delicious, couldnt believe it was gulten free too. The base wasnt your good old cauliflower crust, but rather made from casava (similar to Yuca). I have eaten at many vegan restaurants in my travels and El Punto Vegano ranks up there with the best. They definitely win the award for best quesadilla. We watched the food come out of the kitchen and wanted to try everything. The food is fantastic. Don't forget about dessert either, it's amazing. They also have many gluten free options. I wish we were staying longer so we could eat there every day. It was that good. The staff is so wonderful and accommodating. They really go out of their way to make sure you have a great experience.
