The menu is extensive and all vegan! Making a decision was tough. The restaurant is roomy and open. This type of food accommodates traditional eaters too! The service was quick and accurate. If you're looking for good comfort food- this is a great place!

My review is based on a delivery order. My order came quickly and was hit upon arrival. I order a few things; the "steak" quesadilla was absolutely delicious, my favorite item. The empanada was kind of dry and I believe it should come with a dipping sauce to counter this. I must mention, this was my first time experiencing pasteles, I don't think I like this staple, it's a texture thing for me. The filling would be good in something else, but I did not like the pasteles, I could not finish it.

SO many vegan options!!! The whole menu was vegan. I was so excited to find an all vegan restaurant in the area. The area the restaurant was in was also super cute, it was nice to get out of old San Juan, as this area was just as cute but much less crowded. We couldn't decide what to order so we got a bunch of stuff. The onion rings may have been the best vegan onion rings I've ever had. The Mac and Cheese fries were fine. A little bland. I had the steak quesadilla and it was DELICIOUS! The cheese as amazing. My girlfriend isn't vegan and she got the Philly cheese steak and also said it was amazing. The cheese pull was fantastic. Only giving it four stars because they were literally out of everything. Upon being sat she told us like ten things on the menu they didn't have right now.

The food was all really delicious! The server was very kind and helpful. The decor inside was cute and fun, though a bit eclectic.

The food was great, the staff and very nice. I was excited to go to try the milk shakes, but they were out of ice cream, however they were out. The lemonade was delicious, and made fresh. The food was nice and hot tasty. The place is clean and spacious, the music was at a nice level etc.

Decided to try this place for lunch after a nice morning at a nearby coffee shop. I really appreciate how they try hard to replicate popular Puerto Rican and Caribbean dishes in vegan form. When I dined here, the restaurant only had a few other people, so service was pretty fast. I ordered the Cuban version of the Mixta plate, as well as some rice and tostones to go. I'd say that the prices are fairly high for what you get here; the regular plate I ordered was fairly small, as were the side dishes. The vegan meat was also just so/so; the flavor was ok, but the texture was definitely off. In all, I would say that the portion sizes here are not really worth the prices, even considering the pretty good service and ambiance.

I appreciate this place for the opportunity for me to eat traditional Puerto Rican foods in a vegan style. The place itself is a little odd. Not sure if it's an art gallery or a night club at different times. The food was healthy and delicious. The sampler Pequeno was a nice mix of soft and crunchy finger foods. The empanadas were lightly fried in a clean oil. The cheese balls and corn sorullos were yummy. My favorite dish was the Relleno De Papa which was a potato ball filled with faux meat. My only complaint is the QR code menu is endless. It has an English translation when you click on the dish. This is way too much work when you're super hungry. Would have order more food but we're in a rush to catch our flight back home. Seems like they have many interesting dishes. I wish they just had a paper menu. PS A little tricky to find parking in this area.

Great food and service. The owner Funky Joe was so nice and Very approachable. Best Vegetarian food in Town for sure.

Food, Service and Ambiance is superb!! Owner and employees are nice and amicable. I love it it. Nothing i have ever tried before, but it worth the time and money. A back story the restaurant was founded as part of a Cancer survivor who believes that eating healthier was part of the healing process.

I'll start with what I didn't enjoy: 1 - Buffalo Chkn Sandwich - I didn't like the vegan chicken patty. I don't know if it was Gardein, Beyond, or what, pero no me gusta. The onion rings were good though. 2 - Alcapurria HP - I took one bite and abandoned ship. 3 - White rice sans sabor. (get the yellow rice instead) I absolutely LOVED everything else. My MUST TRY list includes: - Empanadilla de Carne. Yes, it's filled with Impossible meat, but the way they flavor and cook it makes it phenomenal. I would prefer an accompanying sauce of some sort (even though it's delicious on its own). I ended up ordering their aioli for it. - Relleno de Papa. A deep fried mashed potato ball with a little criollo-style "beef" in the middle (also using Impossible meat). The meat is very subtle in this one though, which I prefer, so it's perfect. - La Mixta HP. This is what you want! A traditional PR dish veganized. It's Bistec Encebollado (think onion sautéed steak bites) with white rice and red beans (which I subbed for arroz y gandules), salad, avocado, y tostones. The flavors were exquisite! - Birria Tacos. Only available on Taco Tuesdays. Theirs has the best seasoned tortilla shell that I've ever had. I also tried a cake and ice cream dessert. The cake was ok (a little dense), but that ice cream and caramel sauce slapped! Amazing artwork. Service was ok; not bad, but not brag-worthy either. No complaints though.

This is such a vibey place. I love the decor and how chill this place is. It's too bad it's not more popular, it was pretty empty when we went. Good for me but bad for business. Anyway, the service and the food were great. I had the steak quesadilla and shared the loaded fries. Very flavorful, well seasoned. The ONLY thing I didn't like were the drinks. I had the passion fruit juice and it was sooooo sour. This could be more of a preference thing though.

A lot of the reviews mention a long wait, especially before closing, we did not experience a long wait and we went around 7:45pm. They close at 8:30pm. There is no paper menu, a QR code is presented to you upon entry. It's a long menu that is very hard to navigate and understand. It's half Spanish and half English. The food is creative, I was excited to try it but the Impossible meat taste is very harsh and leaves a bad aftertaste. The loaded fries were a good portion which I expected because it was the price of an entree. I think this was my favorite. The Philly Cheesesteak had a vegan cheese that was heavy and off putting. It was presented more like a panini. The Combo 2 Rellenos De Papa is apparently their famous item on the menu. It came with rice and beans, shaved "carne asade", huge piece of avocado, salad and plaintain chips. It also came with a lentil soup to pour on top. This dish was good overall. If I were to go back, I would try the "beef empanadas and breaded "chicken" patty.

Papa Rellena!!! Potatoes with an amazing vegan meat filling. It was warm and lovely!

There is absolutely NO signage anywhere in the restaurant stating that flash photography is not allowed. While we were quietly sitting at our table waiting for food, my husband took a quick photo of me with flash. Out of nowhere, Patrick, who identified himself as the General Manager, approached us in an incredibly aggressive and hostile manner and abruptly said "NO FLASH" with an attitude that was completely unnecessary and unprofessional. If there are rules guests are expected to follow, maybe the restaurant should clearly communicate them instead of having management aggressively confront paying customers. I asked to speak to the assistant manager who handled the situation much more professionally and was kind, understanding, and willing to listen. Unfortunately, Patrick's behavior completely ruined the experience and left a terrible impression on what was supposed to be a special birthday dinner. His behavior was racial profiling. No guest should feel singled out, uncomfortable, or disrespected simply for taking a photo when there were no visible rules posted anywhere in the restaurant.

The steak was really tasty, and juicy. But the roasted pork was very dried and hard. It had some good bits in it but there were quite a few pieces that were too cooked to eat. The rice and beans were cooked very well. This is the perfect place for quick local food where you won't spend too much. But if you want a very high quality, I would choose elsewhere.

We were able to snag a reservation but for a late time which was about an hour and a half before close. The service was super great but one thing I wished they mentioned that the bottled water was going to be a $40 charge lol. Makes sense for any upscale restaurant though. Should've mentioned we wanted tap so fair warning, ask cause you WILL get charged haha. We had a group of 10 and for how big the group was, the food came out pretty fast. I don't think we ever had a time between drinks to entrees where we were waiting for food to come out. We got the watermelons mojito for drinks since it was the most raved about. It was good but personally nothing crazy for me. 8/10 score on that. We also curry popcorn chicken, the ahi tuna lollipops, the empanadillas and the goat cheese quesadillas for apps and honestly overall 9/10. This is where I don't like the sweetness part of this meal. The empanadillas were what I was most excited for but it was more sweet then savory which sort of lose my appetite a little. I think if you like that kind of taste then it's going to be good. It wasn't a bad taste at all. Just too sweet for my liking. The curry popcorn chicken was good and the lollipops were great. Again, nothing crazy. The goat cheese quesadillas was good as well but again, too sweet for my liking. Now on to the entree, they didn't have the porkchop since we came late so I ended up getting the porkchop belly dish. When it came out, it looked amazing but then I got a whiff of it and smelled cinnamon. That's when I was sort of disappointed. It was like eating pork but tasting Cinnamon Toast Crunch and as said before, it tasted great but too sweet for me. This one was way too sweet to where it seemed like a dessert item. I just had poor luck and got one of the one items that were sweet. This doesn't tank the rating down whatsoever because I also should've read it had cinnamon. It would've been great if they made a dipping sauce or something to pair it with and not have it on the pork belly itself. I got to try other dishes my friends got which were good as well but I wish I got to try something else. If I came back I would try the sold out item which was the pork shank or the sea bass. I know for a fact the sea bass was amazing. Had a bite of it and thought "I'll come back for that" Overall, 10/10 experience and nothing bad about the place but gotta try different items when I go next time. I understand the hype now

Out of all the restaurants I visited in Puerto Rico, my friends and I came to the agreement that this was definitely the best one, and I can't believe we almost didn't come! To start off, the staff is super nice and made us feel welcome. I may be biased because one of them complimented my "gracias" (lol) but they were accommodating and patient as we had a hard time deciding what we wanted to order, since everything looked so good! The pinchos de atun was a must-try since everyone online was talking about that dish in particular, and it was AMAZING. The tuna is so fresh and complimented so well by the sauce and the rice cracker. The ceasar salad was flavorful and a great addition, since we didn't have much veggies at that point in our trip. And the sea bass!! SO tender and delicious. We also got the perfect lady cocktail and the guava & cheese bread pudding, and both were perfectly sweet and balanced out the rest of the meal. Everything about this place was amazing. The inside of the restaurant is very pretty and it's located near La Placita, so easily accessible to the nightlife if you want to party afterward. I will definitely be recommending Santaella to all my friends and coming back if I visit San Juan again.

The vegetariano was mid, but the other three? No complaints. But honestly, the food is only part of the story here. The vibe is everything. Salsa playing, high energy, warm service. We rolled in late and hungry, looking for sweet refuge from La Placita crowds, and they welcomed us like we belonged there. The music started out mixed, but at some point it shifted to Contra La Corriente front to back. We were enjoying our pastelillos, singing along to No Me Conoces, minding our own business when... el apagón. Not the whole Placita, just a couple spots including this one. The staff didn't miss a beat. Flashlights came out, mood lighting appeared, and nobody rushed us. We finished our food. We paid. We left happy. 5 stars because some experiences are bigger than the sum of their parts. This was one of them.

This is not a polished, Instagram-perfect restaurant and that's exactly the point. That's why I…read morelove it so much. Tucked inside La Placita de Santurce, its a small, casual, almost hidden spot that's usually packed with locals. Think plastic chairs, outdoor tables, music playing and a constant flow of people coming in for a quick bite or drink. Feels more like a neighborhood hangout than a restaurant. I've been coming here for years and this is what I've learned, take it from a local. For a quick bite, alcapurrias are a MUST -- especially beef or crab. Also the "pastelillos" are amazing-- corn beef, chorizo, morcilla... Everything freshly made to order. Now, if you want to sit down and enjoy an authentic Puerto Rican meal, here are some of my favorites: chuletas fritas, chicharrones de pollo, bistec encebollado and carne frita-- of course with a side of rice and beans or tostones for the win. Bottom line: you come here for flavor and authenticity, not comfort. Enjoy

This is global techniques blended with locally sourced Puerto Rican ingredients. From the moment you walk in, you feel welcome. I was there to celebrate my birthday (a reservation is a must). I asked if I could be seated in a different section of the restaurant, and even though they were packed, they said absolutely and found me a lovely seat in the bar area. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive. I suffer from severe food allergies but wanted to experience their tasting menu. My server spoke to the chef directly and then took the time to walk me through every option. I TRULY appreciated that they did not take anything off the menu but rather told me how they could adjust for my allergies. That is very rare and so very much appreciated that they went that extra mile for me. I highly recommend the tasting menu. It's 5 courses and they give you 3 options to choose from, within each course. And for the price ($85), a great value. Everything was delicious but I highly recommend the Breadfruit Gnocchi, Rainbow Runner Crudo, and Criollo Duck Mofongo. Chefs kiss! What I also noticed was, even though they were insanely busy, they didn't make you feel rushed. The invited you to savor the experience - which I did. Next time you are in San Juan, make a reservation and go. You won't be disappointed!

They have a lovely outdoor seating area, but we opted to sit inside for the ambiance, which turned out to be a great call. Service was excellent from start to finish. Our waiter was knowledgeable, attentive, and gave great recommendations. We decided to go all in on the $85 per person tasting menu. The food ranged from good to very good, and there was a *lot* of it. Standout dishes for me were the ceviche and the desserts, both of which were exceptional. The beef empanadas and breadfruit gnocchi were also highlights. My one criticism is that the tasting menu didn't feel particularly cohesive. We started with yellowfin tuna, moved on to wood-roasted fish, then suddenly shifted into Italian territory with breadfruit gnocchi in a rich buttery sauce before continuing on to beef steak and duck. Individually, many of the dishes were delicious, but together they felt more like a sampler of the restaurant's assortment of dishes rather than a thoughtfully sequenced tasting menu with a clear theme or progression. That said, the quality of the food, generous portions, and outstanding service made for a very enjoyable evening. If you're looking to experience a wide range of the kitchen's offerings, Cocina Abierta delivers.

So after a…read moredisastrous attempt at sushi across the street we decided to keep it simple and go to the place in Condado that is guaranteed to be great authentic Puerto Rican food. Coño! It was good! I'm Puerto Rican and I was born and raised in Puerto Rican culture and I can say Orozcos is legit. I ordered their amazing Chuleton Kan Kan with arroz con gandules. (Big crispy pork chop with yellow rice and pigeon peas) It was delicious but you have to eat it traditionally with your hands. Don't try to be proper just dig in like the locals do. Just treat of a piece, eat it and then eat some rice. Mmmmm!!! Don't forget their signature hot sauce it's delicious but not too spicy. My daughter and wife ordered the monfongo with Bistec and mini empanadillas which is a regular beef empanada cut in half. Mix some of that hot sauce with it and BAM! You got the perfect appetizer. The monfongo was their star. I was chowing down on my pork chop but I had to steal a few bites lol. The beef was tender and delicious and the monfongo was soaked in the steak sauce, it was bliss! The staff were funny and very efficient and they all helped each other out. The atmosphere was personal and small with amazing salsa music playing and air conditioners blasting. It was so comfortable I highly recommend Orozcos!!!
