    Banana Licuados
    Meal G.

Hidden gems: "Hole in the wall places," are the covert jewels of the restaurant industry. Set in the Manassas Park, VA area and named after the Guatemala National bird, El Quetzal Grill fits the mold. Ownership/Staff: Run by Owner Otto/wife and amiable staff, I'm always treated with kindness---no different than the Hispanic customers---who are the driving force to this establishment. Mexican vs. Guatemala enchiladas: While I embrace both, there's a dramatic difference. Hard to describe through words(See my Guatemala enchiladas pic). The end to a magnificent meal? Coming in flavors like Papaya, Strawberry, Melon and Banana, try a Licuado(English translation: Milkshake). Banana Licuado Heavenly! Due to the large mug this thing comes in, I'd bring a friend to assist in getting it down. Although I didn't finish the Banana Licuado, I took the rest home. So, if you're alone, don't be discouraged in ordering it. If you put too much hot sauce on your food, any of the Licuados will settle your stomach down. For History buffs: In ancient Mayan culture, the Quetzal bird's tail feathers were used as currency.

Two chicken tamales. Only $2.50 apiece!

Order the Garachas, or the Baleada. The best in town. Heck. In all of Northern Virginia.

The look of this place eludes its quality. The food was good, and the service was friendly. Will come back soon. I would reccomend it

Easily one of my favorite, if not my favorite taco spot here in NOVA. Food is always consistent…read morehere and can't beat the prices either. The Food: I always get the tacos here, specifically the Lengua, Al Pastor and the Carne Asada. All the meats were incredibly tender and flavorful, just cooked to perfection. The toppings and salsa just add that extra level of satisfaction to your meal too. The consistency of quality here whenever I visit has always been the same, and that's why I keep coming back here. Portions are also very generous here for the price. The Service: Service was great. I've had both ordering experiences inside the restaurant and outside at their food truck and had no issues with wait times or quality. Overall, a 5/5. Would highly recommend giving this place a try if you're looking for some delicious tacos.

Food: Tried the shrimp cocktail (shrimp, avocado, tomato,…read morechili, and onion), birria sope, beef gordita, and birria tacos. Everything was flavorful and fresh. My favorites were definitely the birria tacos and the sope. Price: 3 birria tacos for $12 -- pretty fair pricing for the portion and quality. Atmosphere: Very packed, which is usually a good sign, but still nice and organized. Plenty of seating and the restaurant was decorated really well. Family-friendly atmosphere too. Service: Customer service was great and everyone was friendly and helpful. Overall: Good food, fair prices, lots of options, and a nice environment. Definitely would come back!

They have an entire concha wall which is always an indication of good things to come. I had lunch here and their food was spot on.

They had a sidewalk sign advertising their specials so my curiosity got me. They chip & salsa you at the outset, the chips were fresh, warm and tasty...the salsa meeh. I was impressed at the size of this place. Enough room for several pool tables and it appears that for the weekend, they can turn this place from restaurant/game room/bar to 'club'. I tried a couple of chicken tacos and was pleased. You have a choice of soft flour tortillas or had corn. The chicken was generous and tasty. I really like that they briing the cheese, tomatoes, cilantro and fresh lime on a side plate. I was disappointed with the salsa, it was was void of any real flavor. It was more like tomoato soup with tabasco sauce in it. They have a very good menu with a good selection of seafood, beef, chicken & pork. I'll be going back to try some other menu items...also interested to try their sopa de polo.

Solely based on breakfast (service is 5 stars)…read more We went on a weekend morning for breakfast - I was craving desayuno típico. In El Salvador, desayuno típico is made up of eggs, crema, chorizo, beans, plátanos, cheese, and tortillas. However, at el Espino (a self-described Salvadoran restaurant) desayuno is eggs, beans, plantains, avocado, hard cheese, rice, and tortillas. As a pregnant woman dying for a typical Salvadoran breakfast, this place missed the mark, especially for $23 (2 breakfasts and 2 beverages). Like I said the service is great, the waitresses are very nice and quick. The (breakfast) food is just overpriced and not authentic or typical to Salvi cuisine. I've been to El Salvador enough times to have high standards for desayuno típico.
