We've been coming here for about 15 years and the staff has hardly turned over. The food id good I've never had anything on the menu I didn't like, the prices are really reasonable and the portions ample/ The staff is friendly and they take good care of you. They're a great date spot across from a bowling alley and an Army Surplus store so they've got that going for them. Its still the same interior that they had 15 years ago and they have new menus about a year old. Its clean, inexpensive and they're family run. If they only would partner with the bowling alley for a free game or two with minimum purchase of course it'd be restaurant heaven. So go have some chips and salsa a cold beer and relax. There are a lot of students from Life University so Friday and Saturday nights when school is in session it can be loud and sometimes they have live music,,,,, did I mention its across the street from the bowling alley HEAVEN . read more

Soooo good. The salsa, cheese dip, tacos al pastor, and carnitas were excellent! I asked for a lime for my carnitas and the server brought out a lime and some tomatillo sauce that was so spicy but delicious and amazing! Such a good experience all around! We will definitely be back. read more

They have a great list of combination dinners which lets you sample multiple items for a better price than ordering them separately. That's how you know it's LEGIT Mexican food! Not some conglomerate-owned rice bowl junk factory. Go to this family owned authentic establishment on a Saturday night and you'll feel like you were magically transported to a quant town outside of Monterrey, Mex. The chefs are truly Mexican, not some hipsters with handbar mustaches and suspenders. There is one dish, Burritos Tippicos, which actually is just like a Turkish dish, Kusbasi Etli, beef tips in sauce. Ain't it cool how two cultures half a world away, can invent the same thing? When in Marietta and got that hankerin' for Mexican, go no further than El Ranchero, "The Ranch" for those Americanos ridin' the range. read more

I enjoyed eating at this location until I had to wait 45 mins for my food because of an inspection which there is no excuse for and the food was made incorrectly and the beans were hard and no good.I called and I was told the day prior I could get my money back so I came back the next day they said they can only offer me half of my money back even though I was told I could get all of it back and the food was wrong. needless to say I won't be back. read more

Edited 3/2013 Started coming here again after taking a break from eating out period. I really like El Ranchero. My kids lick their plates! I have been ordering the Steak tacos. Ribeye beef and served with guac and a fresh picante? (tomatoes,onions, cilantro and jalapenos) on the side. Nice little restaurant, good salsa. Compared to other mexican restaurant in the area (Los Reyes, Los Bravos) I think they are much better, for some reason their beef doesn't taste like its boiled and then frozen and then rethawed. Nice people and can accommodate kids and babies. They have the usual specials on margaritas and beer. They have 2 for 1 entree coupons all the time that come in the mail if you live in the area and get the Little Coupon book from the dry cleaners/local shops. read more

Me personally, i love this place. I go here sometimes everyday after my baseball practice or games, it also helps me cheer up when i lose a baseball game. And also because the quesadillas are AWSOME here, it takes a while for it to warm up. And also about the service, i saw some one person at the table alone near the bathroom, and i think 2 employees were talking to him and it looked like they were having a good time! Also about the cheese dip and chips, you have to stir it first for the cheese dip to like be able to taste good and then the chips taste so good in them! So my mom was in the mood for Mexican after church, being that Ranchero's is right around the corner from my house, I decided that we'd go ahead and try it out. El Ranchero sits right off Cobb parkway in a dilapidated building that looks authentically Mexican. On a Sunday afternoon, the restaurant was sparsely populated. I am not sure what I expected, but I guess, perhaps something a tad bit better than what we got. I ordered Combo 21 that comes with an enchilada, taco, chalupa, rice and beans. The food came out as it was prepared, and being that I had so many iteems, it took about 5 minutes for them to get everything out. Kinda weird, but whatever works. El Ranchero was nothing more than average. The ground beef wasnt really seasoned at all, and, as my mom said "she could have just made this herself". Perhaps... They seem to have pretty good drink specials specifically for Margaritas, so maybe this is a good place to get your drink on, but definitely not the best food. read more

El Ranchero is a small mexican joint serving up the basics of mexican food in a fast manner and cheap price. There's not a whole to the decor in the restaurant, some knick-knacks here and there with some mexican music playing in the background. You get your usual chips and salsa to munch on while waiting on your food to come out, but there's nothing spectacular about those. I can't post without rating, so I'm basing this rating on a foggy memory of my one experience there 2 years ago. But the main reason for this post is because I DIDN'T eat here today. However, I did go inside and asked about the lunch buffet that has gotten a lot of press here on Yelp! And sadly I was sadly informed that there is no more buffet...sadly. I repeat: NO BUFFET!
