We ordered a Horchata, Rice and Beans, Kids Meal with Guava Drink, Rice & Bean Burrito and Sour Cream, Deluxe Super Nachos with Carnitas and Quesa-Birria Tacos. Our family had a nice meal. I enjoyed my loaded nachos and nice they have a free chips & salsa bar! They opened their 1st location in Modesto in 2019, this 6th location in Rancho Cordova opened just last summer! Came by with my beautiful wife, spunky elder daughter, and my adorable toddler daughter for dinner on 2/20/26, located on Folsom Blvd in Rancho Cordova, CA. This restaurant has a drive thru but we decided to come in and dine in. The staff members greeted us promptly, answered all our questions. I ordered the quesabirria plate. The quesabirria was good. This is the first time coming here. I got the carne asada bowl. I got to say it was delicious. I didn't take a picture of the food. But it was delicious. The person on the drive thru she seems nice but she didn't smile or anything. So dry. The place inside? Well looks clean but I don't know since I didn't go in there. I came back for another meal. I was very happy. I came in on a Sunday, and I saw that they had Menudo. I love Menudo, so I decided to try it. The price was reasonable, and the bowl was huge! It came with the hominy., I love my Menudo with Hominy., and there was a lot of of the Menudo in the bowl. It also had all of the fixins' on the side The broth was fantastic The Menudo was delicious, and it was tender. It also came with four flour tortillas, which was a lot. I ended up taking some home. The meal was excellent. This was originally going to be a one star review, because they had a sign saying that you would get a treat if you posted a review. They took that sign down, which is good. Just moved to Rancho Cordova. First place we tried was El ranchero's. Great experience! The staff is nice and pleasant! They have a free chips and salsa bar which is killer! We both ordered tortas. I had the breakfast torta which is new and on point! My wife had the regular carne asada torta and it was equally bomb! The agua Fresca were on point, sweet and not watered down. Over all. Ordered from here the other morning, BF and I did not want to make breakfast and honestly it was amazing. He had a breakfast burrito with steak (carne asada) which he loved and I had a breakfast plate with beans, rice, tortillas, and scrambled eggs with machaca, I was NOT expecting it to be as delicious as it was. We have ordered breakfast burritos from other local restaurants but this was the absolute best one. I've also had their chicken tacos before and I loved them! The staff is friendly, they serve huge portions and the food is absolutely authentic Mexican food (I'm Mexican, I know, hehe). We have never dined in but it is a must try! ABSOLUTE RIP OFF!! We ordered a side of refried beans and a side of rice (ONLY). Didn't notice the sizes until we got home. We paid $11.96 for those two sides. Both sides combined wouldn't fit inside a soda can. I will never go there again and I highly suggest no one else does either. Unbelievable!! Ok listen I come here about once a week. Food is good but most of the cashiers need to work on their customer service. Kiara in particular always has an attitude like it's the customer's fault she works there. She does not ask what type of salsa you want and never gives napkins or utensils. There's another one too but I can't remember her name. If you don't have good customer service skills maybe you need a different job but as a paying customer I should not be able to tell just from the sound of your voice that you clearly don't want to working there. For a new restaurant being opened and also being 24/7 one this place is not bad. The quality of the food was wonderful and tasted fresh! The service was very fast and kind. For a first time visit I would definitely be coming back to try out other foods. These two dishes were amazing carne asada fries which where delicious and such a great go to if you're having trouble picking out something, just wish I could chose a different meat if I wasn't feeling asada and chimichanga, with the enchilada sauce on the side, was great super crispy I loved it. The customer service was absolutely fantastic! The food was delicious and came in huge portions. The desserts were amazing and they used REAL quality ice cream! I typically eat at Adaleberto's on Sunrise & Trinity River, but I wanted to try El Ranchero's since I hadn't yet since they opened up. Went through drive thru, customer service was fine. Ordered a fried bacon, egg, potato, and cheese burrito with extra red sauce, 1 churro, and a large Horchata. The Horchata a decent but not great, the churro wasn't bad. The burrito was honestly not good in my opinion. Mind you, I am a breakfast burrito connoisseur. (No but fr tho I am) First off they put shredded cheese on the outside of the burrito as well as the inside which was kind of overkill for me. the burrito consisted on mostly bacon that was not cooked as much as I would've liked. They gave me 2 different kinds of red sauce, the first was the more watery kind, decent spice but the flavor was strange, it almost tasted like there was lime in it but it wasn't it was like sweet?? Not a fan, then the other red sauce was the more thicker darker sauce and that was like somehow too thick and too harsh, and less palatable. I ate just over half of the burrito and tossed it. Overall, surprised on how not great it was. Maybe their actual Mexican food is better but the breakfast burrito needs a lot of improvement. For now I'll be going back to Adaleberto's whenever I'm too lazy to make my own burrito at home. read more

I gave ONLY 3 stars because of the attitude of the lady who took my order at the drive through speaker. I was not very observant of the menu items and had to ask what the desserts were. She very quickly gave me a sigh and attitude as she read them all out to me but I could tell she was just super annoyed. And before anyone jumps on my lack of observation being the justification for it, it was bad enough that even the manager there that day heard it and took over for her at the window, repeated my order and SHE APOLOGIZED for her WITHOUT me even mentioning it yet. For THAT accountability alone, I gave 3 stars instead of none or 1. Julie was the manager name and she told me the employees were upset about impending management changes and that she herself was about to be transferred out to Modesto. So all that to say that I really appreciated Julie for her professionalism and her accountability and her attitude making up for the lack of it with other staff. Unfortunately she won't be there anymore to make sure they are professional and that will make me think twice about going again. The Churro Sundae is so yummy. Too bad I might not be back to get it. But, hey, if Julie ever reads this, thank you again! I'm sorry to see you go. If current management sees this and can reach out to her- please let her know she is appreciated and Rancho's loss is Modesto's gain. And if anyone has a chance to go to the Modesto location where she is then be sure to give her a shout out and compliment because she deserves it. read more

Our burritos came with no beans between us, very little cheese, my husband did get the guacamole, my burrito was just mainly rice and a little bit of carnitas. The salsa was hot but no flavor. Just had the carne asada tacos with rice and beans. Rice and beans are really good. Green and red sauce were FUEGO! Delicious! the red was my favorite. The meat could have been better. no flavor and was dry. the sauced saved the meat. I like the added sautéed onions in the combo. I still have more to try so i am definitely returning. read more

This place used to be located with the Viva Market, but now has its own brick and mortar with drive thru open 24hrs. I ordered the chicken tortilla salad bowl. The chicken was moist and tender, but it's a good thing I decided to pull over and eat it in their parking lot instead of driving home with it. The bottom of the container had a bunch of liquid in it and the bottom was completely soggy. I ate it quickly to ensure the whole experience wasn't ruined. After picking through it I think the extra liquid was coming feom the beans. Just be aware, had I drove home then ate it would have been an even bigger mess. read more

That makes zero sense. And I ordered another burrito with ONLY bean, rice and cheese, and they decided to charge me for a super burrito and also still put meat in it?? Like where is the common sense in charging me more for just sides in a tortilla. A burrito that only comes with guac and pico de gallo shouldn't be called a burrito. Breakfast burrito, nachos, and the fries are the safest option and best value, bought a 18$ super burrito to only be fed mainly rice, beans, and maybe a quarter of the burrito actually had meat. Paid an extra 3$ for rice and beans the regular burrito has only meat, pico de gallo and guacamole, I should've just gotten that atleast I would be able to see how much meat I got. I get an Asada torta from here maybe once every other day while at work, and I must say they have the best asada torta in town, i work all over and I got a torta downtown tonight and one on Arden yesterday Feb 7th.
