We ordered a pitcher of blue margarita, and I will say they made it strong throughout the whole pitcher. Our server seem like he had spoke little English but he understood us enough. We ordered the chicken and steak fajita and it came out sizzling and steaming hot, with a side of rice, pico, guac, sour cream, refried beans and tortillas. We stopped in for a late lunch and celebrate a birthday. We got the fajitas and a fajita bowl. Service was excellent, food was fresh, meat was tender, and very good. Our margaritas were really good. Had to spend two weeks in the area for work and sadly didn't discover this place until my last night. Absolutely amazing food and service. Got carne asada street tacos (to go) and they went above and beyond packing my take out bag with rice, beans, chips, and 3 kinds of salsa. The asada was tender and perfectly cooked, the pico was fresh, and the beans were fantastic and obviously home made. I'm from southern Arizona and am a Mexican food snob, and these were the best ranch/tex-mex beans I've ever had. The service was fast and superb. The only bad thing is that I leave tomorrow and can't go back. Highly, HIGHLY recommend eating here. read more

The menu is gigantic and the food portions are large for the price. I tried the chimichanga and had never seen it divided into 2 smaller chimis before! It wasn't that crispy on the outside like ones I've had in the past, but it was good. The frozen drinks were a courser ice blend and were partially melted by the time they arrived. One of the best Mexican restaurants in Middletown. I go here for most of my birthday events since living in this area. They are very accommodating to large groups of parties and only ask about a week in advance to give the number of people who are attending. It is not required to have a large party but they will be more prepared if you do. I go here almost every date night with my fiancé and I have never had a bad experience. Third time I have been here. First time the steak enchiladas were burnt. Second time the enchilada and the plate were cold. So I still decided we would still take a chance for a third time since it's close. Today my daughter and friends ordered the peach daiquiri (virgin) pitcher. The ice was so big it would not suck through the straw. The waitress tried to help, but Emilio (Manager) came by and said he could not help us. I politely said ok and told my daughter to drink from the glass. Waiters was apologetic. Then it came time to pay...they charged more money for the virgin daiquiri than one with alcohol. See pic. So I asked the waitress if that was right. But she said she did not see that and went back to fix it. Emilio came out again and asked if I had a question/problem. I explained I would like the alcohol that I just paid for. He said he would give me a shot of rum. But instead he gave me a shot of a weak liquor kind of like amaretto but more like a mixer. The service was really good here, the waiter was very attentive and friendly. I came in on a Friday around 4pm with my son and we were immediately seated and had our order in less than 5 min. My son ordered off the chef's grilled menu and it was some sort of grilled chicken quesadilla and white cheese sauce with rice and salad with guacamole on the side.I ordered the #22 combo one taco and one burrito with rice and beans. Our food came out very quickly and the food was hot and fresh and was okay nothing bad and nothing to get excited about. I think it was a bit bland tasting. We ordered fried ice cream for dessert and for some reason every other bite had a bitter taste to it. I am not sure if there were some soap or cleaning substance left on the plate but I ended up not finishing it. My son said his had the same odd taste also. Overall the experience was ok I will rate a little higher because the service was really good. This by far wasn't the best Mexican cuisine and not the worst either. This is a great place to eat. I had the Del Mar trio, which is grilled lobster, tilapia, and shrimp with queso and pico de Gallo. There are no sides with this entree but believe me, it is very filling. They aren't needed. The lobster was tender and grilled perfectly with minimal char. The shrimp were juicy and cooked perfectly...cleaned perfectly, too. The tilapia was a nice size portion and was very tender and flaky. The queso and pico paired well with this seafood feast. If you have been to one of the other El Rancho Grande days, this one is just as good. They all do seem a little bit different and, I believe, have their own menus. But the quality of the food and the service are usually about the same. This location did not prove to be any different. I had my basic usual combo of beef taco, beef enchilada, rice and beans. All of them were very good. Like I said, pretty basic and standard order for Mexican place so that's all I'm basing this on. The rest of the adults at the table all enjoyed their meals as well. Good place to take families. Moderately loud atmosphere so the kids blend in easily if your kids can be a little noisy from time to time. Would I go back? Definitely. Not too far off the highway if people are traveling but it is not visible from the highway. You would have to know that it is there. It's also in an area with a lot of restaurants and other food establishments. There are a lot of choices in that small area, right next to the highway. Out of all of the choices, this I believe is one of the better choices. read more

First time at this location, I brought my 5 year old. The restaurant is very clean, and the wonderful smells hit you when you open the door. The bathroom is very clean and well maintained. My daughter made me bring her paper towel to her so she didn't drip on the pretty floor. All of the servers are warm and welcoming. The guac is fabulous. My daughter enjoyed her corn dogs, but didn't not care for the fries. My burrito was good, not greasy, but nothing special. Rice and retried beans were good. However, I didn't order rice and beans, I ordered enchiladas and they should be the star of the fish. Overall dismal amount of mediocre food for $12 an entree. I was a big fan of the a la carte dish they have which consists of three pork tamales covered with ground beef and beans. The last two times I got it, I had to ask for the beans that the menu says come with it. But last night, my tamales were not only beanless but were virtually empty of any kind of filling. I was in town for business and this place was close to my hotel. The menu has a very wide selection including vegetarian. They start off with the chips and salsa. The salsa isn't very spicy, but there's 2 kinds of hot sauce on the table to kick it up. The large beer is very large, so if your not a big drinker, go with the regular size. I ordered the combo #6, made it beef enchilada, chicken taco with rice and beans. The enchilada sauce is great in my opinion. Met another couple at 6:00. Weren't many in the dining area. The food arrived timely and was very good. The wife and I ordered two entrees. In addition we ordered four shots for the table. I had a draft beer and the wife had two 16 oz margaritas, which were advertised as being on the "Happy Hour" drink menu. The bill arrived and I was surprised at the, just short of, $92.00 total? There was no itemized bill. When I asked for and received, the itemized bill, I found I was charged just short of $28.00 for the four (3/4 full) shots of fireball, which everyone agreed seemed to be diluted. Went back in July for daughters birthday, the place was clean, staff was friendly and the food, overall, was good. It wasn't busy at all. Fast forward to last week, ordered takeout. The food was delicious! A medium Margarita for $13.00 - not so nice! I asked for a medium Margarita and got what I thought was a medium glass with some fruit slices on it. I questioned the waiter when the bill came. I told him I ordered a medium Margarita but was billed for a Jumbo on my receipt?? I don't know if we were having a language problem or not, but that's a lot of money for a Margarita! I tried to leave a message on their FB message system, but they never replied. I won't be going back there if I have to pay that much for a cocktail! I didn't order a Jumbo, and they shouldn't have brought me one. This could probably explain why there weren't a lot of folks in the parking lot when I arrived on a Saturday there at Noon! My suggestion to you is to drink water when you go there then go to your local liquor store to get the ingredients for a Margarita. It will be a lot more cost effective to you. read more
