I've passed this place a few times and decided now was the time to give it a try. Atmosphere Pretty typical of your typical smokehouse restaurant, with booths and tables. We sat at a booth which was comfortable. Service We were seated quickly and our server was personable and efficient (except for bringing me "sweetened" tea instead of the "unsweetened" tea). She visited us as needed and except for bringing us the bill, assuming we didn't want dessert, she did her job well. Food: My lovely bride ordered the pork belly dinner with mashed potatoes and Cole slaw sides. I'm not a pork belly fan but my wife loved the pork belly. The mashed potatoes were home made and the Cole slaw was nice and cold and creamy. I chose the Pick 2 Combo, choosing baby back ribs, brisket with sweet potato and mac & cheese sides. My baby back ribs were tasty although not as tender as I had hoped. My brisket was sliced a bit too thick but was pretty tender. The sweet potato was great especially with the cinnamon butter and the mac & cheese was fantastic! We chose the peanut butter pie for dessert. My bride doesn't usually like peanut butter pies but LOVED this dessert. The bottom line: Would I come back. It wasn't perfect but I'd most assuredly take another spin. read more

The sliced brisket was extremely fatty, with large pieces of fat throughout that were difficult to cut around, and it lacked the rich barbecue flavor I expected. Instead, it tasted more like plain roast beef than properly smoked brisket. The baked potato was also underwhelming, as it came with cheese sauce rather than real cheese, which gave it an unusual taste. That said, the service was excellent. While recently moving to the area from Texas, I know finding good BBQ might be a challenge. This location was recommended and we give them a try this week. The service was quick and friendly. We started with some hush puppies and the sauce that came with them was great. We had a meat bowl with mashed potatoes and lean brisket with a couple sides. Both were OK. Here's the tough part and I know this might be fine for here. The brisket was dry. I am use to it being juicy and super tender. This brisket just wasn't like that. We've been loyal customers at this restaurant for the past 5 years, dining here several times a week. We've always had positive experiences, treated staff with respect, and consistently tipped generously--so what happened recently was both surprising and disappointing. An assistant manager, who we happen to know personally, approached our table, pulled up a chair, and initiated what she described as a "chat." Instead, it turned into a prolonged and very public reprimand regarding complaints that were reportedly initiated by a new hostess. The situation seems to have stemmed from a prior visit where we were told we could not be seated at an empty booth because it was being held for a potential party of six--which ultimately never arrived--while we were asked to wait for another table. When we asked about this at the time, it appeared the hostess was unsure how to handle the situation. The conversation lasted about 20 minutes and was conducted loudly enough that surrounding tables could clearly hear. If there were any concerns about our behavior, we would have absolutely been open to a respectful, private conversation. Addressing customers in this manner--publicly, loudly, and at length--felt inappropriate and unprofessional, especially coming from someone in a management role. This experience left us feeling uncomfortable. After years of being regular patrons, it was disheartening to be treated this way without any prior indication of an issue. We hope ownership or upper management takes this as constructive feedback. Long-term customers should feel valued, and difficult conversations--if needed--should be handled with discretion and professionalism. Finally tried this place today, and found it rather good. I had the pulled pork sandwich (hog sized, which to me was normal size) and it had a very good smokey flavor which i totally enjoyed, had baked sweet potato as a side. My friend had the Alabama brisket sandwich and he enjoyed that also. The waitress was attentive and very nice. This place has a small bar and was typical feeling barbecue restaurant. First time trying this place and it wasn't too bad. Good amount of searing, nice place, and has a salad bar. My party had a few issues with cold food-things that shouldn't have been like the Monday meatloaf and the soup and chili (had to ask them to microwave/heat up). We also had a bit of an issue with time, it took nearly an hour to get our food. We noticed a table that was seated at the same time as us ordered, ate, and left before we even got our food. Prices are about average for bbq. I got the pulled pork dinner and enjoyed it, very tender and food flavor but as bbq does tend to do, kept tasting it for the rest of the day lol. This is my "go to" place for BBQ in St. Lucie and Martin counties. My wife loves the collard greens, but all I care about are ribs. They do have a definite and delicious smoked flavor which is vital to me. Their sauce is excellent and I often buy a bottle to bring home. To get to Sweet Smoke I drive past several BBQ places, but it's worth the long drive. I'm hoping to talk my wife into going Saturday. read more

We went for dinner. The half chicken had a strange taste-corn bread was terrible, extremely dry and no flavor. Fried okra & baked beans were good. We ordered four chicken tenders. They were not edible dry on the edges rubbery with a very foul taste. I told the waitress and she said oh I'll let them know about it, a few minutes later she brought our check over, I literally took one bite of the chicken tenders everything else went back . They did not take it off the bill or offer to make us a new one or even take half off something, no manager came over to ask what the problem was nothing. 11.99-for nothing. I'm glad we finally took the time to try Sweet Smoke! Our waitress was very sweet and personable! The .99¢ wing special was great! We had many helpings of different flavors. Our favorite was the hickory red sweet followed by the honey garlic! I also tried the pulled pork sandwich, it was a bit dry, but there were 3 of their bbq sauces available on the table that made the sandwich very enjoyable! I upgraded my side to the corn nuggets.... YUM. Perfect crispiness and soft and just yummy! Their drinks also did not disappoint. Our group is not big drinkers but they kept the blue lemonades coming, they were so good. Down in Stuart visiting mom around the corner from this gem. Took her for lunch and loved every Minute. Restaurant is clean, people are friendly, service is fantastic. Wife ordered brisket lunch. Came with fries and slaw. When served I thought it looked like a small Portion but she said it was some of the best brisket she's had. Mom ordered baby back ribs. Fall off the bone tender and she said they were excellent too I ordered the special brisket burger. The brisket was a little lost with the onion strings and cheddar but eaten alone it was delicious. The burger Ireland is on of the best I ever had. Seasoned and cooked perfectly. Juicy, flavorful. Really just perfect. The only miss were the fried pickle chips. The came out a little soggy in the center Regardless this will become a go To spot when visiting in the future. read more

I got the country ribs (3). They were the size of baby backs. Flavor was ok but they were greasy. My partner had the smoked turkey. He said it tasted like lunch meat from Publix. I have lived on the Treasure Coast of Florida for over 21 years and during that time have tried at least two dozen BBQ restaurants, food trucks and stands. I always come back to Sweet Smoke in Stuart. For me, the smokey taste is the key element and Sweet Smoke has that. Their sweet sauce is delicious and their prices are reasonable. The Famous Taters appetizer is fries or tots loaded with cheese and diced meats (turkey, pork, beef). It's delicious with the honey BBQ sauce. My favorite is the chicken sandwich with the hot honey sauce, bacon and slaw. Yum! It sounds corny, but they play BINGO while you are dining on Monday evenings. I went here for lunch because I just needed to get away from work. The greeter was very nice. It was definitely a calm atmosphere with a southern feel. I chose the all you can eat soup and salad bar. The salad bar had fresh ingredients and the food was good. I chose their chili in a cup topped with onions and cheese. It was soooo good. I had two cups (winking). And yes, I did eat all my salad. Sooooo..... my wife and I were at the Beer, Bourbon, Blues and BBQ event this morning in Stuart (don't judge us - first beer wasn't until 11:30!). Sweet Smoke had a tent - where we purchased a couple ribs - (something to wash the beer down) Two ribs - and we were hooked- Fast forward a few hours - and there we were at the Sweet Smoke bar ordering a variety of appetizers and entrees. How did we not eat here before? Good food. Good service, convenient location? I find myself in a horizontal position now- my entire digestive system on "overtime". I have wanted to check out their breakfast since I found out they served breakfast. I stopped in today to try it. I ordered the all in one bowl. It had scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon (an up charge for bacon), breakfast potatoes, and sausage gravy. A side of bread, I picked biscuit. It had a good flavor.
