I don't know why everybody is giving this four to five stars. These tacos are the worst tacos I've ever had. I ordered carne asada tacos. I got more like fajita with cilantro. The meat tasted old line it has browned before they cooked it. Absolutely gross. Don't order the chips and salsa. What salsa, it's just hot sauce or green sauce. My husband and I stopped here yesterday while we were at the mall. I was hungry, but didn't want anything super filling. I needed a snack so I didn't get hangry. Tacos are perfect for this! Employee working was nice and helpful. I ordered two shredded beef tacos, my husband had a chicken and asada taco. These were all served with onions and cilantro, and garnished with lime wedges. They also offer a green sauce when they give you your food. The menu was more expansive than I expected. I definitely want to come back and try other things. But two tacos was just what I needed for lunch yesterday. It's in a mall food court, so there's no real ambience to speak of, except a bunch of dirty tables and screaming kids. But that's something the business can't control because it's a mall food court. Would I return? Absolutely. It is literally the perfect place to grab a small but tasty snack when shopping. I recently visited the El Taco Fresco located in the Valley River Center (in Eugene, OR) and it was AMAZING!!! I will be going here every time I visit the mall; They have earned a customer for life! 1) The customer service is TOP NOTCH. The man behind the counter was incredibly approachable and easy going. He was friendly, and SO polite! He thanked me for my patronage, and made me feel like a very appreciated customer! 2) Very affordable pricing. All of the menu items are very inexpensive, especially considering how DELICIOUS the food is! You definitely get the most bang for your buck here! 3) THE FOOD IS YUMMY!!! The rice is not dry (like at some Mexican food places) and the refried beans are delicious! There are LOTS of meat choices, and they don't skimp out on the meat! If you're hungry, come here! I was curious when I saw a new place opened up in the cursed corner of the VRC food court. I was very excited to see tacos. The menu is impressive. They didn't seem to have anything in the hot food trays when I visited. They have some very attractive options such as carne asada fries, and kids' meals. My husband got a bean and cheese burrito that was very small, about the size of his hand. My son got a kids' quesadilla. I got the kids' carne asada fries. I ordered the kids' nachos for my daughter but we didn't get it and spaced that we had even ordered it until we were reviewing our receipt later. The burrito was fine. Nothing special. The quesadilla was cute and included a juice box. I think it must have been opening jitters, we had to go back and ask for the juice box, forks, and salsa. Service was otherwise very pleasant and friendly. The carne asada fries were ok. The meat was great and flavorful but the fries tasted frozen and were not crispy. I look forward to trying this place again in a couple of weeks. read more

El Taco Fresco is a recently opened Mexican food service in Valley River Center I got some food to go during my recent visit to the mall. Since they are so new, they didn't have a menu printout or boxes for to-go service. The latter part was a little inconvenient. They had a good variety of options at reasonable cost. I got grilled chicken tacos for $2.5 a piece. It was pretty good especially mixed with extra sauce they give out. When they were ready to give out the food to me, the server asked if I wanted two of each sauces and I said yes. But the lady next to him, got a little mad at the server and started hushing and saying not two, we give out only one; which I thought was weird to say in front of the customer esp when you are a new business. I think I will give it some time before trying out at this place again. Atleast wait till they have a good practice run and their service situation in order. read more

My normal location that I would normally eat at was shut down in the mall, so I went to El taco and got myself a burrito bowl without the beans and rice and tortillas. The greens were passable, but the chicken was incredibly plain, and even with the sauce, it really wasn't all that good. I had better results at Charley's steak, the stand next door. Charlies isn't perfect, but if you want a low-carb meal, at least the bun less steak sandwiches are actually worthwhile. read more

Coming from a Hispanic from Texas, and with family recipes originating from northern Mexico - it's the closest I've tasted in this town in authenticity. Where they lack in appearance and display, they make up for in their food and aquas frescas (fresh waters - translated / drinks commonly found in Mexico). Decided to give this place a try but was not very impressed. I ordered the trio tacos plate with 2 Al Pastor Tacos and 1 shredded chicken taco that comes with a side of chips and beans. The Al Pastor Taco was o.k but at least the meat wasn't dry. As for the shredded chicken taco, it was very bland and had no seasoning whatsoever. The chicken itself had a lot of moisture in it but not in a good way. It felt like it was gushing water making its already bland flavor more unenjoyable. The chips that came on the side were too thick and hard for my liking and the beans were meh. Would not recommend this place if you're having a deep craving for tacos. read more

This is my favorite place to eat in the mall. Everything I have tried so far has been fresh and tasty, and the people who work there are fabulous.
