Mediocre service, every time I've gone here they mess up the order if you're not repeating it back to them x5. There were flies everywhere too which was super annoying and gross. If you order pretty much anything besides the hot steam platters you'll be disappointed. Foods very bland. read more

The first time was better than the 2nd (and last time!) We were there and thatisn'tsaying much. The service both times was super slow. The food was middle of the road the first time (fajitas)... The 2nd time I had chicken something and it was dry, didn't have any flavor and presentation was sloppy. The place was filled with flies. My son got diarrhea and felt sick right after leaving. To make matters worse, there was a sign on the front door that read "if you order anything with steak, you'll be charged extra ". All I wanted to do was leave so when the check came, I just gave the waiter my card. I didn't look at the receipt until after I got home... I was charged for a meal I didn't order and charged double for my drink. I won't be back. read more

OMG. Hubs & I stopped in for dinner Labor Day and enjoyed a tremendous meal! Nothing like other so-called Mexican restaurants - this Texan knows real Mexican food. First time here and did not regret our choice. Outstanding lunch service. Great appetizer nacho Texicanos! OMG had the burrito and enchilada lunch and woohoo super good. Being a Colorado native... not having mexican food with chile verde is a stretch..... with that said I can say that El Real ROCKS.... servings sizes are awesome and the food is great! Don't hesitate to give El Real a try and enjoy their excellent presentations. Our favorite is the "Steak Fajita Nachos", which is always enough for my husband and myself... we are light eaters and this is more than enough for us. This place is my favorite mexican restaurant of all time. I've since moved and make it a point to eat here whenever I come back and visit. The salsas are fantastic and you get huge portions if you order some to go. I always get soft chicken tacos and they are great. Portion sizes and prices are great. read more

Very good Mexican. I think it's gone downhill a little since the owners split up. I love the real sauce. It's sooo yummy. Most employees are friendly. It depends who rings you up if they nickel and dime you. Service is generally quick. Prices are reasonable esp the lunch menu. The dips are pricey like queso and guacamole. read more

El Real has authentic American Mexican Food. Great service, nice folks, food arrives fast. Chips were warm, crisp, and not greasy. The rice was nice, also not greasy. Large portions, real tamales, carnitas were good and lean-not smothered in sauce. Sliced avocados were a nice touch! We'll go again. read more

Anxiously waiting for my $9.00 meal to appear I receive a taco shell filled with just a head of ripped apart lettuce and some vein in shrimp placed on top. The wife and I ordered togo so that may be part of the problem. We were there at 1300 Sunday busy place waiting time was about 10 minutes for a table. Her chimichanga was barely rolled and barley fried then covered in a dull sauce that made it soggy. I had the chille relleno, I'm of the opinion that they should only be made with long green chille's this was made with a pablono although the menu warned me of this. I found it too to be dull. We grew up in the southwest and I have now given up on finding Sonoran style food here. read more

I worked here for almost five years. Ate there everytime I worked. It is still to this date my favorite Mexican restaurant, and I am a mexican coinesseur. I recommend everything! Los Diablos, Fajita Real and Poblanas, tacos al pastor, Tacos Mariachi (!!!! FAVE!!!), I could go on and on. Always friendly staff. Fast food, cheap prices. Guacamole is fresh. They have a huge menu. Food is good enough, its Tex-Mex, not real Mexican; but most people won't eat real Mexican food, prepared the way it is in Mexico. Wife usually gets the Fajita Real, they are always good for her. I usually get Tacos El Carbon, which is good. Prices have gone up a bit over the last 10 years, but so has everything else. Good for everyday event, don't go for birthday meal, unless you want to wear a sombrero that everyone in Rincon has worn at sometime, and the music...way too loud. read more

We ate here July 3. The meal started good, but quickly went downhill. First, there was a roach on the wall behind our booth. I tried to overlook that one, but the one that almost went home with me on my booth was really hard to ignore. I had the fajitas, which were kind-of bland. I was really disappointed after so many friends recommended this restaurant. My daughter and I had a do-over day at Jalapenos in Pooler shortly after. Much, much better and worth the drive. I would have gone back had it just been bland food, but I can't forget 2 roaches in one meal. read more
