I think this business is closed I got here at 8:25 and there was nobody there and there was nothing inside.

I believe this business may be closed? Got there at 8:25 and there's nobody there. Most bakeries are open super early so maybe they are no longer in business.

    Tres leches cake!

They have the best tres leches cake ever! I always order from here for birthday's and what not. I am extremely picky and they always do a great job of giving you exactly what you want.

Best bolillo in Pico Rivera! Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside

There are a few other bakeries in Pico Rivera that have been in the city for more than 20 years, but this bakery by far makes the best pan dulce in the city. My family and I use to go to the other long established bakeries but, unfortunately the bread isn't what it use to be. El Rey is a family owned business that has been making fresh bread for the past 25 years. You can always find Rey (the owner) or his brother making fresh bolillo and pan dulce in the morning. If you're in the mood for some delicious bread and want to support a local business, stop by this spot, trust me you won't regret it!

Look at this croissant! Better than in Paris!

Tasty día de los reyes rosca. Pricey but tasty. Always a line day of to pick up but avoid the wait by ordering over the phone days before.

My favorite thing to eat especially in this cold weather is pan dulce (even tho my doctor says not to).

Fast forward to today (2026), and we're still supporting this local business with the same appreciation. Now that my grandparents are older and can't get to the bakery as often, Duran's has become part of our routine. My dad always stops by on his way home to Whittier--often after jobs in LA, Echo Park, or West LA--passing through Pico Rivera to pick up my grandfather's favorite elote and my grandmother's favorite tortuga. When I visit my parents in Whittier, I make it a point to stop here too--bringing pan dulce for my grandparents in Pico Rivera before heading over. The quality has remained consistently great over the years: fresh, traditional, and made with care. On top of that, the staff is always friendly and welcoming--you're consistently greeted with a warm hello, which makes every visit feel familiar and genuine. Duran's isn't just a bakery--it's part of our family history, and we're grateful it's still here.

Homey neighborhood coffee bakery shop. Even an outdoor seating area...but its all about the Mexican…read moredesserts. Not too sweet. Perfect with coffee. Easy to take home. My cousin knew about this place and introduced me to it. It's on a busy street, Rosemead, but in a small mini mall, free patking...easy access but coming from the south to north, not visible from Rosemead. So GPS it is my advice. The service is quick and helpful.
