All the breads I got were super fresh and soft which isn't something you can say for most bread stores. My dad always stops by on his way home to Whittier--often after jobs in LA, Echo Park, or West LA--passing through Pico Rivera to pick up my grandfather's favorite elote and my grandmother's favorite tortuga. When I visit my parents in Whittier, I make it a point to stop here too--bringing pan dulce for my grandparents in Pico Rivera before heading over. The quality has remained consistently great over the years: fresh, traditional, and made with care. On top of that, the staff is always friendly and welcoming--you're consistently greeted with a warm hello, which makes every visit feel familiar and genuine. Everyone that had a slice of the cake was also very shocked at how good it tasted. The cream is light, the mango portions are extremely generous, and the sponge cake in the middle is the perfect size. It was all very well balanced. I genuinely felt the love that went into this cake. The facility does also bake with almonds and walnuts. For anyone with peanut allergies, contaminants is not something to worry about. Overall, I'd love to try other items the bakery offers!
