    Razor clam
    Christina N.

Hands down, one of the best eating we did in Europe. Ate all the razor clams, shrimps and oysters I could eat!! The prawns were so tasty, you initially get the succulent head juice gushing out and bam! sweet meaty shrimp texture right after. Ah, what a great stop. We actually went down the street and had more shrimp at another location but this was the best. My Experience::::::::::: chew chew chew happy happy happy.. more more more!

    Fideua for ONE

As you walk along Passeig de Joan de Borbo, the main street that goes down to the beach in Barceloneta, you'll encounter a ton of seafood restaurants--but this one in particular stands out because they seem to have THREE locations all connected to each other. El Rey de la Gamba 1, 2, and 3 are all connected to each other with people outside trying to get you to go in. I was a bit uncertain about picking a restaurant in this area, but the prices were extremely reasonable and quite delicious. They allow you, for most of the dishes, to pay for one person rather than two (most places charge you double the price they advertise for arroz (rice) dishes like paella and fideua because the portion is always at minimum for two). Our Fideua was only 13 euros for one person but fed us well. We also got the grilled razor clams (navajas) for 7.61 euros and a litre of sangria for 11.50 euros. The razor clams were really good and fresh but the Fideua was AMAZING. The sangria, however, was HORRIBLE. The still water was 1.98 euros. Our total was 36.82 euros, quite reasonable. So: - Do get the Fideua - Don't get the Sangria Definitely worth coming.

I did not like anything of this restaurant is only good located that is the reason why they sell normal food to expensive price only for Turist and not recomended!

Fairly good, a bit salty, interesting to try. But I wouldn't recommend it to friends because of the tourist trap set-up & feeling. I felt like a cash cow there. Also, our waiter had a bad case of BO that made us uncomfortable.

    Patatas Bravas, muy bien!

After a afternoon at the beach we were quite hungry. It seemed welcoming enough without too many tourists so we gave it a shot and f'ing scored! Patatas bravas were great, sardines were tasty and fresh and most of all, the seafood paella was amazing!!! Highly recommend it and all of our food including dessert was less than 50€!

A great place to enjoy Mediterranean style seafood. Ordered a plate with the entire sea in it. Great prices! Delicious sangria. Will definitely return.

The food is great with Spanish people cooking and running this business! Family friendly with kid accommodations and great customer service!

The food was tasty. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The service was mediocre. Sorry, I don't want to watch my servers smoking (in between serving me) just to the side of the outdoor eating area as the smoke wafts over to my table.

Mixed Paella which consisted of chicken and seafood.

Meh, that's all I will say... Seems more like a tourist trap than anything else - no point wasting more of my time here.

Restaurant for tourist. People next of us ordered paella looked mushy, so we asked extra crispy, but still not correct texture.

Not bad. Kind of boring. sign said Gin & tonic was the best. It wasn't. A reasonable stop after a walk along the beach.

Very flavorful and fast experience. Oxtail and mashed potatoes 10/10: the oxtail meet is so tender and flavorful. The mashed potatoes pair so well with the oxtail. Mushroom, steak, and egg yolk 9/10: soo flavorful and balance of veggies and protein. Amazing textures and flavors. Sparkling sangria: 8/10 I don't normally live the taste of alcohol but this was great. Not tooooo strong and if tastes pretty good if you mix it with the orange juice. Fresh orange juice: 10/10 so tangy and delicious. I can't recommend it enough. Patatas bravas: 9/10 solid no complaints! Dessert Tapas: - bread dessert (Tarija): 11/10 amazing dessert that is creamy, cameralized, and has a mochi like texture. This fried chewy dessert is not too sweet and such an affordable price. - coconut pudding 9/10 solid and refreshing if you like flan - bread, chocolate oil, salt 7/10: I live the complex flavors. The chocolate mousse was light and the bread to mousse ratio was perfect. It's a smaller dessert tho I wouldn't recommend it if ur sharing. Service: amazing! Staff I'm everywhere so it was very easy to order more food. Also we were sitting buy the area where they made dessert and they allowed me to record them making it!! Comfortable ambiance great for date night or casual meals!!!

This restaurant was literally right next to our stay in Barcelona--skipping it felt like a crime,…read moregiven the rave reviews. So, on a rainy afternoon, we gave it a shot. We arrived just after lunch opening and were the first customers. The guy at the counter was... efficient. He simply told us to pick what we wanted, tossed it in a bin, and that was that. No explanation of pricing or preparation methods. When we asked how they'd cook it, he casually offered "fried or grilled." Obviously, we chose grilled--why fry fresh seafood? We picked two giant prawns, two octopus tentacles, and two fish (since hubby can't have shellfish). He asked if we wanted salad or soup--reviews hyped the soup, so we went with that. Then he handed us a receipt, told us we were order #3, and sent us to the bar. At the bar, we ordered two sangrias and a water. The bartender asked if we wanted bread and sauce. Sure, why not? We assumed they were included. Surprise! The tiny baguettes cost €0.50 each, and the mystery "house sauce" (a questionable mix of thousand island and horseradish) was an extra €1. We only realized the charge when we saw the total: €73. Oh well, too late now. Then came the food pickup experience--chaotic, to say the least. The server practically barked at us to bring our receipt, aggressively crossed off items, and handed over soups and octopus, crammed onto a greasy tray. No effort at plating, just food haphazardly dumped onto plates. The second round--grilled fish and prawns--was more of the same. Now, the verdict: Soup (5/5) - Delicious and reasonably priced at €6. Would order again. Bread & Sauce (0/5) - Not free, not worth it. Hard pass. Octopus (€31.80 for two tentacles, 1/5) - Overpriced, greasy, and drowning in molten salt. Basically, eating a sodium bomb. Grilled Fish (€10.50 & €8.50, 3/5) - Decent, but unnecessarily oily. Grilled Prawns (€5.59, 0/5) - Mushy, not fresh, and borderline inedible. Final thoughts? Not worth it. With so many incredible food spots in Barcelona, why waste your meal quota here? If you want quality seafood, go to Cervecería Catalana--we spent €5 more, but a meal a thousand times better. Spend wisely and eat like a king.

I've had fried anchovies before but this was too heavy for us - Octopus: This was a bit oily but but not as much as the anchovies. Potatoes were nice and soft and absorbed all the sauces. - Small Clams: My favorite dish out of all we've ordered. Although the clams were small, the sauce it was cooked in was delicious! [Service] - Line up, order what you want, some seafood have various cook styles so they will ask you which you'd prefer, pay, find a table, and pick up at the pick up window once your buzzer goes off. [Ambiance] - Mainly indoor seating with 2 tables outdoors [Overall] - Would come back again as I love this kind of seafood eateries! Will definitely try other dishes next time as well

Two of us picked 5 types of seafood, a salad and a fish soup. We tried the sangria as our drinks. Everything is beyond fantastic! We would highly recommend this seafood gem to all our friends. Here are a few tips for the first timers: 1) The workers at the order area don't understand English well. We pointed at the seafood for ordering. 2) Recommended to have the fish soup over mixed salad as an appetizer. The fish soup is made with lots of fish and ginger; and it carries so much flavor. 3) The mussels are a must-have and are so cheap (Under 10 Euros for huge portions). It's recommended to prepare in two ways: white wine and tomato sauce 4) The La Paradeta sauce (I e. A green basil sauce) goes very well with shrimps and razor clams. 5) The fried calamari was so delicious and perfectly paired with drizzles of lemon juice. Yet, it's so expensive (24 Euros for a very small portion). It doesn't feel as worth it as compared to something like lobsters (29 Euros/single lobster). 6) I noticed many people ordered a bottle of wine instead of Sangria. Will need to try next time!
