Well I tried here twice before submitting my review. Both times the food was good but the service was not. If it was just the food then I would give them a 4. Both times they forgot our appetizer and didn't check on us to see if it came until they brought the rest of our food. The first time the server rarely came to our table, drinks took a long time and they had no clue how to split the cost of a meal between others. They also had a large group come in when we were almost done with our meal and had us move tables! Pick up all of our food and drinks and move down to another table! This most recent time the meal I ordered was suppposed to be portobello mushrooms and shrimp. It came out onions and shrimp without portobello. I asked about it and they said oh we are out of them. Only after I asked did they then bring me regular mushrooms instead. Usually if a restaurant is out of part of your meal they tell you and ask if you want something different. Former Local Cantina location I'm told, so the bones were all in place. Fast paced, loud, beautiful murals, and the walk down the hallway to the bathrooms is a sight to behold! Huge TVs all around. Nice patio in the corner lot. Plenty of free parking. Huge menu with moderate pricing and moderate portions. The have a Josper grill which is unique in Columbus. We shared the filet and shrimp salad. Each were done perfectly. The steak was prepared well but lacked some natural flavor. You get 3% discount if you pay with cash and not a card. Service is attentive. It had been a few months since I had eaten at this location and I was craving the Birria Tacos that I always get. This place really has it dialed in for the customers that dine in. If you are celebrating something special then expect some fun party favors while you're dining! My tacos came out approximately 5 minutes after I ordered and they were pretty busy so that was impressive. If I were to provide some constructive feedback I would say that just one lime is not enough for the 3 tacos. I was also disappointed in the amount of meat that was in two of the three tacos. There was also very little cheese either. For $16 I would expect more on that front. The flavor of the tacos were fantastic and service was also spot on. Service: waiter was friendly and talkative. Waiting on water was never an issue and any questions we had about the money were promptly answered. Oddly enough there was a bit of a lack of knowledge when it came to the temperatures of steak, but that isn't a major issue. Ambiance/Atmosphere: inside is stunning. Truly a very well decorated spot. The music isn't too loud and the tables and seating are comfortable and well spaced. This is a really nice casual spot. Food: Pineapple Cancun was delicious. Chicken, steak, shrimp, and peppers with onion perfectly cooked and seasoned inside a half pineapple. The pineapple chunks and juices gave such an amazing sweetness to the salty meats and seasoned peppers. This was delicious and I'd highly recommend. Mr mamalon was incredible. A 30oz tomahawk steak cooked with rosemary and other seasoning. This steak is cooked over an open fire and truly is fantastic. My only grievance is it was over cooked. I enjoy medium rare and this came out medium well, but the flavor was so fantastic it really wasn't a big deal. Although slightly chewier than I'd prefer, it was still very tender and juicy. The chimichurri wasn't necessary, but added an amazing extra flavor. The cilantro lime rice was an excellent pairing along with the beans. Monster burrito was incredible. Seasoning is no issue here, everything had an amazing flavor and perfectly cooked. The shrimp was tender with a little snap and the beef and chicken were both tender and full of flavor. The queso was a great consistency and the quacamole was fresh. The burrito itself was packed, there's no stinginess when it comes to the fillings here. I'd highly recommend. read more

Beautiful decor with decent food. I know this is a new place taken over another Mexican food establishment. Disclaimer, while dining here, I was in a party of 14. The main server was nice but hard to hear. The flow of complementary chips and salsa was available during our entire meal. Disappointed in the salsa since it tasted something from a jar rather than homemade. The menu has many choices which made ordering hard to do. I went with the mixed fajitas. My favorite part was the beans and rice. The vegetables within the fajitas encompassed more than the protein. I also found it strange to have broccoli as a part of the veggies in the fajitas. One of the other folks with me got another type of fajitas which was served in a hollowed out pineapple. Cute touch. I tried to order a certain type of margarita without the alcohol but the server said they couldn't do that. I can't see why unless the drinks are pre-made. Tip: The quesadillas are soo stuffed be careful when eating it. Two of the folks in our group had it spill out of the tortilla because they were so packed. Overall my group was satisfied with the price paid vs the quantity of the food served. I was disappointed it wasn't more authentic thus the rating of 3 stars. read more

Ordered the birria taco and the guacamole with chicharron. The guacamole was the best I have had in years. I have never had guacamole with pepita, but it was a nice added touch. I have never had birria taco before, and this was so delicious! Some of the meat was more tender than others, but still delicious. The consomme was very flavorful, that I even dipped my tortilla chips in. The chicharron, I had to reheat in my oven because I wanted it a little more crisp, and I am glad I did as it rendered a lot of grease that I did not need. So tonight, I stopped in to get food to go and decided to go with the queso birria tacos. $15.50 for 3 just tacos. 3 corn quesadillas filled with the birria meat. I do feel like there was a good amount of meat in each one. My problem lies in the queso part as you can see in the pictures there's basically no cheese. I found a little bit at the bottom and my second problem is you're gonna get someone one lime to go with three tacos then make sure that that lime is juicy. I could barely squeeze a tiny drop out of it for one taco. Not to mention the restaurant was not busy at this time and it still took forever to get my food. Me and my fiance loved this place! First time here, we will be moving to the area soon and can't wait to come back! Staff were very nice, it was very busy but I felt like we got our food and drinks in a reasonable amount of time. It would be worth going just for the soft serve margaritas and salsa! This is an upgrade from the previous Local Cantina. Pretty murals and a nice upgrade to the overall ambiance. They give you chips and salsa, the salsa is very heavy with the tomato sauce, I prefer Local Cantinas to be honest. Overall Moderate prices, I ordered the steak fajita quesadilla. This is the third restaurant at this location. I had high hopes when it first opened. When I went today, I noted the tacky hand written signs as you enter: "cash discount," "wait to be seated." The young lady at the desk was on her cell phone, ignoring me. I asked to be seated at the bar and she brought me to a table. I redirected her to the bar. After I sat at the bar, I saw the bar surface was dirty and moved to a different seat. I ordered chicken enchiladas. I thought that would be safe. The chicken was tough and lukewarm. the octopus was crazy good, i give this place 5 stars because the effort deserves it, but there are alot of areas that need improvement. the biggest thing is ventilation in terms of the restaurant smelling like the restroom. that part was really making it hard for me. the octopus dish was insanely good, the seasoning, the tenderness, and the most perfectly cooked rice. excellent. i will say the chicharron guacamole was way undercooked. it needs to be crispy crunchy, most of my pieces were fatty and undercooked. overall great staff and food some things need improvement but i was happy 4.5/5 read more

Went for lunch. Decent crowd not to busy but not empty. Service was good. She checked on us several times. The only time we waited long was when we were done eating and waited to get the check. I had the lunch chicken fajitas. Good size portion very tasty. Comes with 3 tortillas, rice, beans and sour cream, no guac. Hubby had a enchiladas said it was delish. I orders tres amigos burritos. Chicken, steak and shrimp. What I got was 3 burritos filled with rice, no beans as advertised. The chicken, steak, and shrimp was arranged on top of the burritos and very little of that. In their eyes, I guess that is what made them chicken ,steak and shrimp burritos. The description is vague. The dish was priced at $16.00 so when I got the bill,$16.46 . I asked her why the extra 46 cents and she grabbed my bill, came back , and marked the price of the meal at $15.00 plus tax. That makes me wonder if they do this to all their customers. If I have to get an accurate description by asking exactly what I am getting or have to ask why I am being overcharged, I have no need for this place. They charge customers incorrectly. Our food was mostly okay. They served my daughter a very old overcooked hot dog. They then brought one out that was still cold. The waiter was nice and offered to replace it with something else. We declined and they did not charge us for the hot dog. My son's meal came out incorrectly but they fixed it pretty quickly. The kids taco meal ended up costing us $17. We did add 2 additional tacos and expected to pay for them, but they rang it up as a create your own combo meal which shows $15 online. After we asked about it they told us it was correct. We were charged differently a few days prior but okay. When the check came, they hoover over you as you get your card out. After they ran the card we realized the check calculated wrong. The signs and check state you get a 3.5% discount if you pay cash. This is inaccurate as the menu prices are up charged by 4% if you pay by card. Except for our $1 charge for sour cream which they up charged by 56%. There is no discount. It simply charges you more and not the correct amount. When I spoke to the manager, he stated he would have to speak to the programmer but there was no offer to correct the wrong charges. The signage needs updated stating there is a 4% up charge from the menu if you do not pay cash. There is no discount if you do pay cash. Paying cash is the only way to pay the prices reflected in the menu. read more
