Instead of my usual chicken nachos, I decided to try something different. Shredded beef Taquitos Hacienda. Made with a rich mole sauce and topped with red onion and avocado slices, this was either going to be really good or a complete fail. Thankfully it was really good. Mole may not be for everyone's taste buds. You can taste the chocolate in the sauce, more so than any mole I've had before. But it all worked well...shredded beef, crispy tortilla, onion and avocado. Swimming in a generous amount of sauce. I cleaned the plate but forgot to take a pic. Whoops. They also had great chips and homemade salsa that had a slight zing to it. Also came with refried beans and something that resembled cole slaw. I took a pic of the chips lol. I would definitely stop again and pick something different from their extensive menu.

At check in, no-one acknowledged us (rough start) and pointed us to follow the host to a booth. However, our server was terrific. We explained it was our first visit, and asked if we had questions. We were not familiar with Barria, so she explained it too us and while she made sound very tempting we ordered plates we were familiar with with-Pollo Loco and some very similar. They served us tortillas with fresh Salsa and a refried bean dip ( really delicious). The food arrived promptly and was piping hot (the only way to serve a mexican meal). The food was fantastic and the server's description of Barria will have us coming back for a new experience. The decor is a little loud, but inviting.

That's actually a positive if you're looking for a spot where you can grab food and watch a game at the same time. In general, walking into a restaurant that's full is a good sign, so from the start I had high expectations. We were seated fairly quickly, which was great. However, it did take a while for our waitress to come over and take our order. That part was somewhat understandable, as she appeared to be the only server handling a large number of tables. While that's not her fault, it is a downside from a staffing perspective. Once we finally placed our orders, the food also took a bit longer than expected to come out. When it did arrive, though, it was hot and seemed very fresh. I ordered the loaded tater tots, which came topped with chili and cheese, with sour cream on the side. They were good overall, but I do think the chili could have been better--more meat and a slightly richer, more savory flavor would have gone a long way. We also ordered wings. Aside from a couple that were burnt, the wings were actually quite flavorful and enjoyable. Most of them were cooked well, and the seasoning was solid. The restaurant itself was clean and well maintained, which is always appreciated. The waitress was very kind and polite whenever she did come by, and I think most of the issues we experienced were simply due to how busy the restaurant was at the time. If we were to return during a slower period, I believe the experience would likely be much better overall. Would I recommend going here? Yes--with some caveats. If you're going primarily for the food, I wouldn't necessarily recommend visiting on a busy game night. However, if you're going to watch a game, enjoy the atmosphere, and grab some food at the same time, it's worth giving a try. Hopefully it won't be so busy that things come out rushed or slightly off, like a few items did for us. Overall, the experience was decent. It wasn't amazing, and it wasn't terrible. Aside from a few burnt pieces of chicken, most of the food was flavorful, and the atmosphere made up for some of the shortcomings.

I got one chorizo, one steak, and one chicken tinga. The corn tortillas are what most people speak highly of here so I had to try it. It was exceptional. The tortillas do taste homemade and have a nice flavor and texture. The tacos didn't fall apart either. Now the meats were just okay...nothing authentic about them. Lacking in flavor too. BUT if you want to order a non taco item, you can add a tortilla for a $1. Probably what I should've done. My friend got the crunch wrap which was BIG. Prob too big for most people to finish but it had a lot of things in it, including a fried tortilla inside that my friend agreed was the star of the show. Otherwise, her Crunchwrap was bland.... We both got a mild and spicy salsa on the side but neither were spicy. And of course, neither were that flavorful. Service was good. The staff was nice. We didn't wait long for the food. More like 3.8 stars overall. Masa recently opened another stall that sells salads. I'd prob try that next time.

I got the barbacoa tacos and they were very meaty and the tortillas were freshly made. After I placed my order, the worker gave me a buzzer to let me know when it was ready but I waited nearby and started talking to him. He was very nice and friendly. The salsas don't have a description on the menu so I asked him about a few of them and he started sharing his story and even told me the recipes they use are generational; he uses his grandmother's recipes!
