Servers are always friendly. I love that they are open to serving me salad with my chicken when I do not feel like having rice and beans. Or just rice and beans is cool. I am not a big breakfast eater but I have seen people indulge. Their juices and smoothies are also good too

Whenever I'm in BK this one of my go to spot mainly for the grits, French toast and pancakes. The owner Jose is awesome. He remembers every one of his customers and their order. But not only him his staff as well. I never had any lunch from this establishment so I can't comment on that but breakfast is always good.

Kind of your typcai Spanish/ English hood spot that's usually the spot to go to, well because there's nothing else around (my reason for choosing to eat here.) The menu ranges from American food to Spanish. The space is pretty big but lots of empty tables. The service blows. The waitress had an attitude as if I was stopping her frorm gossiping with the other chicks. She honestly could care less I was there and I could care less about her tip. Honestly, the food is okay, nothing to run back too right away. Oh well!

Collados is a family owned cafeteria/restaurant serving homestyle hot food six days a week and it's a neighborhood staple for many years for early risers and swing shift workers. It's very clean and a decent spot for the AM commuter rush and afternoon or early evening dinner patrons. Their breakfast sandwiches (egg and cheese with beef sausage) is quite filling and their chicharron de pernil (pork skin) is so good--especially with some yellow rice and black beans.

Ordered 4 of the same meals, came out to $100. One had dietary restriction- no egg, no pork, no sausage. The other had an allergy restriction- no egg. The reminder orders were good. The dietary one, had egg in it!!! I had to check the allergy one before I gave it to the person for fear we would need an epiPen. Luckily but still cautious, we didn't. The dietary one couldn't eat the food though, it was given away to a homeless person. We were too far in another city by the time we released the mistake on foods, hence why I said check everything. The taste: it lacked flavor. The best thing on the plate was the Maduros (sweet plantains), avocado, and that green sauce (which they only give small containers for purchase). Would I recommend? Not really. If in a pinch maybe.

I went with the 1/4 chicken combo, which came with rice, beans, a fried egg, and a side salad topped with avocado. The chicken itself had great flavor -- the white meat was a little on the dry side (as expected), but still seasoned well enough to keep it enjoyable. The spicy green sauce and garlic sauce on the table were both excellent and really tied everything together. My total came to $21.78 after tax. Overall, a flavorful and satisfying meal with some solid extras that make the experience stand out.

My destination was Super Pollo in Ridgewood, as it is the most recommended chicken spot in my comments and DMs that I have yet to hit. After 9 stops and a brisk 13 minute walk, I arrived at the promised land. I got this tingly feeling when I saw a Smart Car wrapped in Super Pollo branding. "Super Pollo" was written in bold yellow lettering and there was an animated chicken with "SP" on his chest like a superhero. I'm really not a car guy, but this is my dream whip. Legendary. I walked in and got a table for 1 like a nerd loser, but these chicken reviews tend to be a solitary practice. I feel Van Gogh. I got the half chicken and 2 sides combo ($17) and a side of maduros ($6) for the city. On the surface, this chicken looked like one of the greats. The skin was perfectly golden brown and so crispy. It crackled when I touched it with my fork. However, I got trojan-horsed a bit. The bird itself was just a bit dry. It wasn't so dry where it was killing me, but compared to the greats, it just didn't have the same tender juicy meat. The green sauce was AMAZING and made it to die for, but you must judge a chicken pre sauce. Otherwise we are just judging sauce. It was very well seasoned though and had so much flavor. I thoroughly enjoyed this meal, and it's still in my A-tier ranking for chicken spots. I'm just a rotisserie chicken snob at this point. 8.7/10. If I lived anywhere near here, I'd be coming at least 3 times a week. Nothing better after a good workout than pollo a la brasa. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__
