I've seen this place as I drive by locally, wasn't really sure of the atmosphere because of the area. Today we decided to check it out and watch some football. The bartender/owner was quick to welcome us, got our order and brought everything out to us quickly. Sure was super nice. We got our food fast and it was actually really damn good! The tostadas were full of flavor and tasted fresh. The tacos and sampler were delicious as well. We will be coming back for sure! No complaints at all even the bathroom was clean and parking was secured as well. Highly recommended.

After a long week and zero desire to cook on a Friday night, I finally decided to give it a try. When I pulled up, the line was surprisingly short, which felt like a good sign. The order window is right out front, and the menu is simple and familiar: tacos, burritos, sopes, tortas, quesabirria. I ordered a little bit of almost everything: asada street tacos, a bean and cheese burrito, beans and rice, an asada mulita, an al pastor sope, and a quesabirria. Prices were reasonable, and I spent under $50 for the whole spread. Food came out in about 15 minutes and was packed neatly. The disappointment started once I got home. There was no salsa in the bags, which already put us at a disadvantage. Only then did I realize there's apparently a salsa bar inside along with a small seating area, something you don't see from the front order window. Had I known that, I would've grabbed what we needed before leaving. Then we opened the tacos and realized they came completely plain... no onion, no cilantro, nothing. Just tortillas and meat. Not exactly what I expected. Visually, everything else looked fine, so I was hoping the flavor would make up for it... but it didn't. Everything tasted bland, like the seasoning took the night off. The only thing I halfway enjoyed was the beans and rice, and my family felt the same way. Maybe my expectations were too high based on the crowds I always see, but everything tasted like tortillas, meat, and cheese... and not much else. I'll give them credit for fair pricing and quick service, but that's about it. I really wish the cashier had mentioned that the tacos come plain or pointed me toward the salsa setup. Overall, not the experience I expected, and not one I'd rush back for.

Here is why you need to check out Hungry Bear Tacos: * Handmade Tortillas: You can really taste the difference; the tortillas are fresh, authentic, and have the perfect texture. * The Quesadilla: It is huge and loaded with melted cheese and savory meat--definitely a must-order. * The Vibe: Their truck is one of the most impressive I've seen, complete with a TV that makes waiting for your food actually enjoyable. * Top-Tier Service: The staff was really nice and provided great service, making the whole experience even better.

Why go bland with your flavors? Why even put up the food stand in the first place if your meat taste like it was used to clean the table with. Make it make sense. It doesn't. If you came and got lucky one day thats good for you but ive tried their tacos regularly. Its 90% disappointment. I got them cause it was the closest thing to me. I work like right down the street. Even my co workers say the same. The one with the tortilla lady on it is a little better. Try that one. The best are in el monte. Karinas tacos i think. Idk the name really I just know how to get there. And only when im going, because to name streets ‍‍ but I think its near peck. Its next to a T intersection. And there is a small shopping center. Its also a food truck. but yeah. This place is good if your hungry and dont care about flavor. So like if you were a literal hungry bear. Just eating to eat. I hate writing and actually posting reviews but I really just felt like it had to be said.

Although their prices are high, $16 for a torta, it's usually worth it, because their portions are quite generous. Earlier today, I ordered a torta to go, and I ended up extremely disappointed when I got home. It had literally half the meat, half the beans, and half the cheese that it normally does. This was the first time I'd been disappointed with their food, but I decided to call and express my dissatisfaction. I was passed to the manager who handled the situation in the most unprofessional way. I explained the issue to him, and he insisted that my torta today had the same amount of meat, beans, and cheese as always. I disagreed with him, and he responded angrily, "Everybody makes mistakes!" He raised his voice and repeated it a couple of times. It was completely bizarre that he chose to speak to me as if I was the one who'd done something wrong. It's very childish to do a subpar job and then get upset and frustrated when you're called on it. An adult apologizes and pledges to not blow it again. Anyhow, I don't tolerate disrespectful people so I'm done. I won't spend another penny there.

First let's talk price - this burrito comes in just shy of $18. $18 is steep but with the economy being what it is I'm willing to roll the dice and pray the food is decent. This my friends was not it. Burrito was almost as flat as a pancake. The smallest chunks of meat were inside (maybe 1oz worth if I'm being generous). There was maybe a sliver of beans and cheese? Mostly this burrito was rice and again, so thin that not that much of that either. The actual chile???? Where was it???? Also so small it was like a side note. This burrito was so thin and lacking in ingredients that it should have been $8 dollars at most. So my question is, is this the norm or were they just running out of ingredients tonight? Positives I will give this place - tortilla for the burrito was fresh and delicious - just enough of a crisp on it too. The red and green salsa were both fire. They had a heat to them that you don't find much anymore. Overall - I'd come back for a taco since they are small and open faced but Never ever ever ever a burrito.
