Went here to watch the Niners game after checking out the McDonald's Museum in San Bernardino. I just asked for tonic water. The bartender comped me for it! Great customer service even though I'm not a regular. BEWARE OF BARTENDERS STEALING CREDIT CARDS My partner and I have been to The Red Fox a handful of times and have never had an issue with the staff until Sunday, 10/20/25. Upon arrival, my husband struck up a friendly conversation with a few men about football. It was a loud but good-natured discussion, everyone was laughing, debating teams, and having fun. Yet, one of the bartenders decided to single him out and told him to "calm down" because he was "too loud." Funny enough, he was the only Black man in the group, and also the only one she targeted, despite everyone else being just as loud. The double standard was clear and infuriating. We decided to leave after our first drink and head to a friend's place. I asked the bartender to close out our tab, and she handed me a credit card. Assuming it was my husband's, I signed the receipt and placed it in his wallet without double-checking. Hours later, while at the market, we realized the card she gave us wasn't his. We immediately drove back to The Red Fox to return the card and get his back. Instead of showing any concern or accountability, the bartender denied everything. She insisted we "never left a card" and claimed she "only had two cards the whole time," which made absolutely no sense. Why would she close out a card and give it back to us if we never opened a tab with my husband's credit card. When we checked my husband's credit card app, we discovered two unauthorized gas charges one for $60 and another for $50. Both made at gas stations right next to The Red Fox. The only charge from The Red Fox was for $5, again making no sense seeing how we had two mixed drinks. So we either had the cheapest drinks on the menu or this was calculated on the bartenders part. At that point, it was obvious what had happened. The bartender not only mishandled (or stole) the card but then gaslit us, trying to make it seem like we were lying. This experience was disgusting, unprofessional, and honestly criminal. If you value your money and your dignity, do not trust this establishment. Check your receipts, your card, and your statements if you've been here recently, because you might be a victim and not even know it. read more

I can't say enough GREAT things about this neighborhood bar near my house. I took two friends with me today. They had a Philly cheese steak sandwich as today's special. One of my friends doesn't eat beef so she asked if they may be able to make hers with chicken instead but with all the same fixings. They were HAPPY to accommodate her request! I ordered the special as well just as it comes and my other friend had the Red Fox burger. Our food was EXCEPTIONAL AND SO AFFORDABLE!! The owner, Richard, was our server. Great guy. He chatted with us and gave us the history of the place. We had a great time! He gave us a complimentary dessert which was truly decadent. I haven't eaten here in decades way back in the day before their fire closed them down for so long. I've heard the food. There is very good and found that out today. I had a San Francisco burger with onion rings and a zucchini appetizer. All of it was very good and reasonably price. The hamburger was cooked to perfection and the onion rings were crispy and tasty. They don't really have table service you go up to the bar and order and pick up from there but the young lady behind the bar was kind enough to wait on me at my table. I really like coming here, they got great prices on their food and drinks. The Guinness I got was poured too quickly and was about half beer and half head when it was given to me. By the time it settled it was still 25-30 percent head. I ordered another one and was done the same way. If a place has this beer on tap they should properly train the bartender on how to pour well. Stopped at The Red Fox on our way down the hill from Lake Arrowhead. We wanted a sports bar environment since it was Sunday football. The bartender/server, Daniel, was outstanding! It was his first week on the job. I can only hope he stays long enough for us to have him again! He was so personable and attentive. We opted for a basket of chips & salsa and their "Sunday Special" $1.25 crispy tacos. The chips and salsa were so good with a delicious salsa to boot. THE TACOS were amazing! They also have a coin machine which is not common. Love that. The bartender was pretty nice, but kinda unimpressive as far as service goes. Not very attentive to her interaction with us. Tried the Saturday chili dog special $2.49. The presentation was there. However, the hot dog was cold in the middle, the chili was not even lukewarm. I came here to get a burger after reading the reviews. If I have one word to describe the food, it would be "generous". The burger came with a half filled bottle of ketchup, the large plate was three-quarters filled with fries, with the remaining quarter being the burger with large buns, and a meat patty and lettuce larger than the buns. The burger was good, patty relatively juicy, well seasoned, but nothing to write home about. I'm not sure what "bacon jam" is. There's no bacon in the burger, and the sauce tastes like typical relish or caramelized onions. The price felt like inflation was frozen in 2010 levels and that side door I came in was actually a time machine. What I loved was that they didn't try to save costs with those tiny disposable ketchup cups that would have had me constantly badgering the bartender for more. The ingredients were fresh, the lettuce didn't seem like broken pieces at the bottom of the bin, and that actually helped to keep the burger together and not too messy, despite the size. However, what I didn't like was the ambiance. The decor reminded me of a college frat house, no kidding! Those dim red walls, old wooden laminates, a few unevenly distributed posters here and there, way too much space dedicated to two pool tables no one was playing. It felt like they decorated the place over the weekend. And the fact that the music was turned up 10 dB louder than it should have been, with PA speakers localized from the front. The waitress/bartender was very friendly and patient despite that I had a hard time hearing anything she was saying. Everything needed to be repeated 3 times. Although I saw some people on dates at the bar, it certainly wouldn't be the place I'd go to hold a conversation. In fact, this place gave me major deja vu. It reminded me of high school senior year or freshman year college. It reminded me of a lot of driving around wondering where to go next, hot boxing in cars with pipes made of apples, getting plastered at frat parties. When the local house party got broken up, you'd eat at the diner or sneak into bars like this one blasting radio hits from a jukebox. Hey, things were different back then and they didn't necessarily card everyone where I was from. Though to be fair to Red Fox, it was very clean and orderly in there and I'm sure everything is aboveboard here. The bathroom was clean, surprisingly. Also, I'm a lightweight, and they don't serve half pints, only pints. So the food was generous and decent, but the vibe was... "unassuming"... blue collar, country, Americana, whatever you want to call it. It was like pulling off a random exit in Massachusetts or Louisiana, and finding yourself at a random diner bar where the locals hang out every Saturday night. That's my impression at least. read more
