Came here for dinner on a Saturday with some friends! Parking was difficult to find - beware that the parking lot behind the restaurant requires a permit. We had to find parking on the street. Once we got seated, we were amazed by how extensive the menu is. There are so many options but luckily the menu had several pictures to show what the restaurant was offering. The waiters are very friendly and also provided great recommendations but do note that not all of them speak perfect English! I ordered the Maravillas Del Mar which included fried seafood and ceviche. The ceviche was just okay but the fried calamari and seafood were good! I would just say that it's too much for one person! My husband and I stopped in here after a meeting in Plainfield. I'm so glad we did! We arrived at 1:40 and the place was hopping. Lots of people were having lunch. The waiter explained that there was a beef soup as well as the seafood soup and he'd bring me the beef. We both chose the same lunch - whole red snapper, which was served with rice, beans and sweet plantains. I asked for water and received the prettiest glass of water ever, with orange, lime, strawberries, and blueberries in it. Very refreshing! I have to say, my soup was fantastic! I thought it was right up there with one of the best soups I'd ever ordered. My husband loved the seafood soup, too. My soup had plenty of beef, the broth was delicious and it was a meal in itself. The red snapper was tasty. Fried, flaky, delicious and there was way too much food for a single lunch. The beans & rice were great. Great dinner tonight! Food and service were very, very good; place beautifully decorated, and also clean, especially the bathrooms. What we had: Churrasco: Skirt steak served with white rice and fries and a small side salad with avocado - very tasty and nicely marinated. Arroz Chaufa Shrimp: Fried rice with egg, shrimp, and langostine - Hands down one of the BEST rice dishes I have ever had! The rice grains were large and fluffy and perfectly cooked, there were bits of tomatoes and peppers and onions and whatever sauce they used made this really tasty. The shrimp was plentiful and large and plump. They were not dry at all. Bandeja de Paisa: bistek, chorizo, chicharron, 2 fried eggs, plantains, beans, white rice - All very good, but I think the best was the chicharron. It was crunchy but also the fat was not chewy or over done. I felt these were perfectly cooked. They reminded me of a delicious pork chop that had been cooked on a grill. The plantains were nicely cooked, soft, and the right kind of ripe. They were good and sweet. We also had the banana and strawberry shakes, both tasted like they used real fruit. If you love banana like me, then you will really enjoy the banana shake the best. Our servers were pleasant and the place was beautiful. I did not expect such a nice looking place in Plainfield! They were also very clean and were good at keeping our table clean without being intrusive. I hope this place does well! If they continue to give out service like we had tonight, then I'm sure they will. By the way, this was my birthday dinner, so we celebrated by trying out a new spot.
