We ordered dinner from here pretty late on a weekday, so the restaurant was about to close when we went to pick up the food. We called in for takeout and the lady told us about 15 minutes, so that was quick. When we got there, the food wasn't quite ready yet, but it didn't take too long. The restaurant itself seemed like a casual dining place, but since we didn't eat there, I couldn't tell how it was to dine in. So we come here to eat many time. But this time my mom came in chipped her tooth while eating there. Mofongo from Puerto Rico, empanadas from all over Latin America, soups, Mexican carne dishes, and so much more. I ordered fried yuca, sorrulitos con queso, and chicken and ground beef empanadas. All was great, but I'll skip the sorrulitos next time because it seemed like it was filled with Velveeta. Very courteous and helpful staff, especially with my limited Spanish. The food was plenty, the alcapuria was great. The only issue I had was the the potatoe rounds (papa rellena) was too crispy (charcoaled) for my liking. Not sure what the cause was for the color of it, perhaps a little used up oil from the earlier part of their day, I don't know. Would still recommend this place to others, some may like the charcoal looking potatoe rounds but I'll pass on that myself. Would still comeback for the other dishes and appetizers they had. Desert: Tres Leche: well, let's just say it was in a container and it didn't look appetizing at all, for me. Prices at less than $10 (!), it included a fountain drink. (It was lunchtime, so I think this was given at a discount for lunch.) The plate came with a choice of white or Latin rice; red or black beans; and stewed/steamed (?) or grilled plantains. I went with the Latin rice, red (pinto) beans, and grilled plantains (one of my favorites). And each scoop of everything was hefty. Talk about value! But here's probably one of the main reasons men - and women - come to this place: the women working here are very attractive. Nothing scandalous or anything, but simply attractive.
