I really wanted to like this place. It's a little bit similar to like a chipotle. There a line and places to sit with a lot of tvs. The place seemed very clean. But overall, the food was bland and cold. I visited with my friend who's Latin. There was a sign that says Mondays and Tuesdays Bogo specials. Since it was a Monday, we figured we'd stop in. There were no menus and no prices and no labels on any of the foods. We had to ask what everything was. And even though there were only a couple people in the restaurant we seemed very rushed by the woman getting our food. The drinks are in cans or bottles. They did have Coke and Diet Coke and Sprite. I honestly thought the food would be seasoned better or spicier, but it was not and it was kind of cold. My chicken was very dry.

I was ripped off! I ordered the buy one get one lunch special and it came out to $17 and the only option was baked chicken which was a thigh and a leg so it's 1/4 chicken. When I could get a whole chicken and rice and beans at pollo tropical for 19.99. I had to eat all the meat at once just to get full.

Great selection of Latin style dishes. Every entree comes with so much food we ended up sharing. There is a dinning area here but most people were taking their food to go. They do have large screen TVs all over the restaurant playing sports and news. Staff was super polite and even with our language barrier we received fantastic service. Food is not expensive. There is plenty of parking available next to the restaurant

Pros: the food was incredible. Portion size for $15 is enough for two large meals. The workers are fast and friendly. The atmosphere was pretty loud but everyone there was in good spirits. There are several televisions that were displaying sports. Cons: Literally no menus anywhere. You HAVE to know what it is you are ordering or just point like I did. Only one of the workers spoke English so it was really a struggle to go through the order process. If I'm ever back in Orlando, I'm definitely coming back!

Holy cow how is this place so close, so delicious and SO not on my radar until last week?? We hit them up and got our food to go as we were both super tired and ready to be home. The place had a welcoming vibe and you order via buffet service style, with the employees getting you your picks as you go down the line. I did yellow rice and the stewed chicken. Be ready for HUGE portions. It was more than enough for leftover and another meal for lunch the next day! Honestly the next day was almost better than the first as it gave time for all that delicious chicken juice to soak into the rice.... The staff was really friendly and they moved the line quick! There were a couple people in front of us, but we weren't there more than 10 minutes from entrance to exit with food in hand. Overall: A++ Excellent food, HUGE portions and great service. Win.

First timer here and I went to the drive thru, the lady was very helpful she did not speak English well however she was very patient and pleasant. I had the pepper steak with white rice and macaroni salad. The price was very reasonable for the amount of food I got, I could have fed 2 people. The food was good. I will come back and try them again.

Wepa wepa!! Solid and affordable, this small cafeteria style Latina eatery serves up most all the popular Caribbean choices along with some other interesting selections. I Love coming here for lunch often enough whenever I'm working nearby; today's trip in was because I missed them. Sure, they're on island time, so there's that to consider. ...but at least they feed you. Like really feed you. You won't go home hungry. I've bounced around the menu and don't have favorites so much as I like trying something else just about every time I come in except for the rare exception where I'll go for the pernil; which I really like here. Oftentimes elsewhere, pernil can be dry but they do it nicely tender and juicy here. Makes for a gut busting fully satisfying lunch. Love it.

This is a hole in the wall with GREAT FOOD! I was referred to Lechonera by some locals when I requested a good place for Puerto Rican food here in orlando. This place was mentioned by multiple people so I knew that I had to try it out! The model is very simple here, you're going to get a combo plate with your choice of rice, protein and starchy vegetable. They have so many options to choose from. No matter what you're in the mood for they will probably have something to satisfy your taste! I chose the arroz con gandules, carne frito, y maduro. The portions here are very generous! They piled the plate with the arroz con gandules (rice with pigeon peas) continued with the fried pork chunks and finally three large pieces of sweet fried plantain. The food itself was fantastic! The rice and meat were seasoned to perfection! The plantains were simply sublime and the perfect complement to the savory dishes. I highly recommend, especially if you are looking for great Latin food that is of the beaten path. Oh yeah, all of that food was only seven bucks! You can't beat it!

Come hungry! I had been wanting to try this place for a while after recommendations from a friend and the reviews on Yelp. Finally got around to it today! When you walk in, you will see pans of food all around. You basically just go up, point out what you want, and the server will dish it up for you. I chose pork and yellow rice with black beans. My boyfriend chose a piece of pastelon. Portion sizes were huge! We sat down after paying under $10 for all of this food. We shared each other's food and everything was delicious. The pork is a tad salty to me, but I know that's how a lot of people like it. It was cooked well and the rice was awesome. I'd never tried pastelon before and enjoyed my bites of that also. Once the two of us were full, we still had leftovers to enjoy later. Come check this place out!

That's it for the meat, note the texture, it's hard and dry.

Our order was taken, everyone's food arrived, but my meal never came out. When I asked about it, the waitress appeared to realize the mistake but did not take accountability. Instead, I was told she would "check in the back," and 15 minutes later she returned with my food claiming it had been there all along. To make matters worse, my daughter ordered her churrasco medium, and it came out well done. My drink was also forgotten. Mistakes happen, but what was most disappointing was the lack of ownership, communication, and effort to correct the situation. I asked to speak with a manager, but it seemed like the request was ignored or avoided. Coming from someone who has managed restaurants before, it is disheartening to see this level of service and lack of accountability. Unfortunately, based on this experience, my family and I will not be returning.

Once we found out they had a restaurant, we knew we had to check it out. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside with great vibes and a nice atmosphere. Our first visit was mostly good, but I would not recommend the tripleta. All you taste is the burnt tortilla, and it wasn't like a typical tripleta sandwich. The second time we went was for a graduation celebration, and sadly most of the food was a miss. The grilled chicken and sauces were especially disappointing--expensive, bland, and not something I'd order again. The drinks were also disappointing and tasted more like sugary syrup than actual cocktails or fresh drinks. We chalked it up to maybe being an off day. That being said, we also ordered catering for the graduation before the unfortunate dinner, and the catering was amazing. We ordered pernil, leg porchetta, arroz con gandules, and roasted whole chicken. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well done with no complaints at all. I just wish the dine-in experience matched the catering and food truck experience better. Overall, I would still recommend Crocante because when they're good, they're really good. The service was okay, nothing special, but not bad either. The space is beautiful, the vibes are great, and some items are definitely worth trying.

The ambiance and the warmth of the staff took me back to the Caribbean--it definitely felt like home. Their menu features a Latin-Asian fusion, and I loved every second of it. We started with the Krab Salad. It was incredibly fresh, topped with avocado, and the perfect way to open my appetite for a sushi night. Next were the Pork Fried Gyoza, served with a sticky, glossy sauce that has just the right amount of kick. They were so good, you won't be able to put your chopsticks down. The Escobar Roll combines shrimp tempura and churrasco--the best of both worlds. It's topped with sweet plantains, chimichurri sauce, eel sauce, and spicy mayo. I had my doubts about all those flavors working together, but I have no idea how they perfected that combination--they absolutely did. The Mar y Tierra Roll was recommended by our waiter, and I highly recommend ordering it in tempura. It gives the roll a completely different texture, and it's absolutely amazing. The Pollo Loco Roll is topped with sweet plantains and teriyaki sauce. It's simple, yet packed with flavor. We finished it all off with a crème brûlée. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd be enjoying one at a sushi restaurant, but it was the perfect ending to an incredible meal. If you're looking for creative sushi, unique Latin-inspired flavors, outstanding service, and an atmosphere that makes you feel like family, The Escobar Kitchen is definitely worth the visit.
