Continuing to try Mexican restaurants in my area and this caught my eyes in doordash. The torta a appeared to be much better but that wasn't totally the case. Tacos al pastor- not bad and priced fine but the adobo or sauce used for the pork didn't taste like homemade recipe. It was on the sweeter side and just looked and tasted watered down. Other than that it was cooked well and the overall taste was fine just not the best al pastor I've had. Asada torta- I was really excited about this based on the pictures I had seen. I did like that they flattened the torta and the overall taste was good. There wasn't nearly enough filling though. Especially for the price you expect a good amount of filling and this was on the lighter side. The last bit of bread was even fully empty. It was juice which was great to taste. In the picture I had seen there was more avocado as well. Good taste but not enough filling for the price. read more

I have had a zillion tacos and these were the best I've tasted in a very long time. Great flavor and they had everything made very quickly. The owners Victor and Carmen were very nice and we had a great conversation. They make everything from scratch which is rare these days. I also appreciated how clean the entire restaurant was. It is super easy to jump off Broadway get a bunch of great food and either eat there in their booths or head home. Will definitely be coming back for more. read more

This place is clean and sanitary. I have been coming here since I was a teen in the 2000s. Everyone here treats me like family. Greers me with a smile and a wave. Always knows how picky I am with my torras yet exceeds my expectations always. They just know how to cook like mom. I highly recommend supporting this small business they make better sandwiches than subway and are more fresh. Instead of helping a chain restaurant across the way come here they have better sandwiches called tortas they are fresh and beyond tasty. We stop here regularly when driving from the Bay Area to Atascadero to visit family. It's the kind of Mexican food I grew up eating which sadly I can't really get where I live. I'm partial to a ground beef enchilada and the tacos governador, but there are lots of good choices of course. My son is a particular fan of the carne asada. The restaurant has a very friendly and kind of festive atmosphere. They have a slew of Michelada type drinks but on a larger level. Like it's a Michelada/Bloody Mary/shrimp cocktail combo. In santa maria there are many many options for Mexican food and lots of those options are just mediocre. Sadly, this place can be lumped in with that bunch. We tried the tacos- not much flavor Burrito de asada- mostly rice, super spicy couldn't enjoy it, and I like spicy Menudo seems to be what most were ordering, my husband tried it and said it was decent and price was good at $9 Also, you order at the counter and then sit, there are no signs indicating this in English or spanish. We sat and had to figure this out on our own, they weren't very busy at the time. So maybe the cashier could have let us know to order at counter. read more

Craving an asada torta so I Ordered in because my lunch is on 30 minutes and i work clear across town! Super friendly service. I've came here for years, and keep coming back! Today, I was a bit disappointed, their lettuce was old and dry and the bottom bread was super soggy and they missed the avocado. I'm use to having the bread be a little crunchy, not this time. Hated it This place is terrible all around. Terrible presentation, terrible services. I bought some enchiladas today, they were garnished by BROWN shredded lettuce, the cheese wasn't even completely melted. I used to come here when I was in high school. Not sure what's happened or maybe because I've discovered more restaurants that offer tastier foods. But things have definitely changed. I ordered the carne asada torta and burrito a few days ago and it has basically little to no taste. Super disappointed because as I've said, this has always been a go to place for me because it's nearby. So far, I have had some great experience here with the food. I love the tortas and nachos.

Lately the prices have gone up but the quality has gone way down. A few separate times we were given stale nachos with barely any cheese and my torta had a slice of black, rotten avocado. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired, they were rude 2 separate times when I asked about prices. The teenage girl cashiering overcharged me and gave me attitude when I questioned it and got angry. The food in El Rinconcito has the most delicious food than any other Mexican restaurant. I have tried everything from the menu at least once and not once have I complained. Since I was 6 years old I have gone to El Rinconcito my personal favorite is las tortas. The service is amazing they are kind and the place feels like a second home to me. Everything is clean and tidy. My family and I go to El Rinconcito ever special occasion or just a place to go eat. It's a place to socialize get away from technology and just spend time with the family if you are a busy person.    El Rinconcito has so many types of food from tortas to smoothies. They have a salsa bar with different types of salsas, lime, sliced onions, cilantro etc. Every time I go there I order una torta de asada and a smoothie. When you bite into a carne asada torta you can taste the fresh  ripped tomatoes, the lettuce, the tasty avocado slices and the grilled meat that in every bite you can taste a explosion of flavor that combine perfectly together.    Are you looking for a place that feel like a second home and a great atmosphere.
